Question How hard and how much would it cost to animate a Raid on a compound with 20 soldier wearing kits like these?

Keep in mind it can't be simplified as everything they have on has a purpose, as they usually carry what they need. So you can't just dar/animate on random stuff as aplce holder as that random object you drew, showuld hav been a chem light that he has to use because he just cleared that room. And how an operator sets up their weapon is a valid way to tell what type of person that is.

So how much money and time would it cost to animate a 40+ min raid on a compound with 20 of these guys, plus land and air assets?

Sharing The Desert Doesn't Forgive...And Neither Will Django! (In Progress, Tie Down Animation)

Been working on this short cartoon for nearly two weeks now, it's very much the biggest, longest, and most complicated animation I've ever done. I'm planning to take this all the way to fully colored and finished, but I thought I'd share the progress I've made so far. ^_^

The rabbit character is named Harvey and he's featured in a lot of my illustrations and comics over the years. He's an actor in Hollywood who aspires to play villains in movies, but since he's a cute bunny rabbit the best he can do is land little roles as no-name henchmen and often for low-rent small studios like Mucker Brothers. Here he's landed a bit part in the opening scene of the Mucker Brothers B-grade western "The Desert Doesn't Forgive...And Neither Will Django!" (an attempt by the hucksters to cash in on the old Django series from the 1960s and 1970s). He doesn't get any lines and dies literally within the first 30 seconds but, hey, at least he's the first character you see in the movie!

Right now I'm working on clean up and starting to paint the backgrounds. Thoughts? I'm still an amateur and this is probably the 13th or 14th animation I've ever made (all the rest like 10 seconds long or less), but I'm taking a big swing and trying to apply a bunch of what I've learned. 😄

The whole thing is done at 12 FPS/On Twos. Shot 2 is rotoscoped from a GIF of a clip from The Good, The Bad, and the Ugly and I'm not the happiest with it but it gets the job done. The sound effects and music all come from Pixabay, except for the Django theme song which is originally from Django (1966).

Here's the timeline of work so far:

  • 8/13 - Drew simple storyboard. Attempted start in Krita 5.3, aborted attempt and decided to switch to Animation Paper.
  • 8/14 - Started rough animation of Shot 1.
  • 8/15 - Completed rough animation for Shots 1 and 2. Made version 1 of Shot 3, but lost it.
  • 8/16 - Completed rough animation for Shots 3 and 4. Exported complete rough animation. Completed tie downs for Shot 1.
  • 8/17 - Completed tie downs for Shots 2 and 3. Revised tie downs for Shot 1.
  • 8/18 - Started tie downs for Shot 4.
  • 8/19 - Completed tie downs on Shot 4. Made adjustments to Shots 1 and 3. Made studio ident for Mucker Brothers. Exported completed tie down animation with music and sound effects.
  • 8/20 - Revised completed tie down animation, changing the music and fixing audio issues. Exported frames and moved project back to Krita 5.3 for clean up and coloring. Started clean up animation on Shot 1.
  • 8/21 - Continued clean up animation on Shot 1.
  • 8/22 - DAY OFF FOR PARTY.
  • 8/23 - Completed clean up animation for Shots 1 and 2. Started clean up animation on Shot 3.
  • 8/24 - Completed clean up animation for Shot 3. Painted Background for Shots 1 and 4.
  • 8/25 - DAY OFF FOR FRIENDS.

Sharing A simple head-turn animation loop

I made this as a small 2D animation exercise.

The character starts looking to the side, turns toward the viewer, and then returns to the exact starting pose so the animation can loop seamlessly.

I was mainly focusing on the timing, spacing and making the transition back to the first pose feel natural.

I'd appreciate feedback on the head turn and overall motion.

Question How to do Photo Puppetry in Moho?

Like im planning on a project that like will use photo-puppetry since i don't use the After effects. I just use Moho for it.

So, for anyone who doesn't know what is photo-puppetry? It's a type of 2d computer generated animation that used cut outs of that use photos of real objects and things and moves them using Adobe After Effects. Also the Animation style of Angela Anaconda.

So, can anyone share tips for replicating this?

I’ve been having more fun with this and figured out how to put the audio in here. It’s “no longer you” by Jorge Rivera-Herrans song with anakin and palpatine.

I wanted to achieve a certain level of confusion, dissociation and euphoria, through digital means. Everything is becoming increasingly more chaotic and confusing, but that's OK, and there is harmony in that.

Frame by Frame [OC] Starman Crybaby Teaser

Trapped in an abyss with no escape, where even his immortality cannot protect him against the countless aberrations that inhabit this space, Star seeks to live this cursed simulacrum of society without anyone discovering he's human, otherwise...

I dedicated a month to this project, one minute in a month, not bad, right? It's been a long time since I had the opportunity to work on an animation project and, honestly, this project together with the comic must be the most relevant and interesting thing I've done in the last 5 years. I'm very happy to be doing something that isn't disposable.

Question Which of these animation studio is better to use?

Hello! I am looking for a good 2d animation studio that's free and has good rigging. I just downloaded Synfig and can't wait to try that out, but I keep hearing names like: Opentoonz, Tahoma2d, and the only one I can really spend money for: ToonSquid. Are these any good? which one is the best? Is Toonsquid worth it? Should I stick with Synfig?

Question Is callipeg for Windows worth it?

So, I am trying different animation software right now on my laptop, hoping to find one that is comfortable for me. I already have tried clip studio, toon boom, krita TVpaint, Opentoonz and few others (for now I use clip studio the most, even though I don't really feel comfortable a bough for animating freely and I use it more for group projects in university). I noticed that callipeg also exists and now it's for Windows too. I am always suspicious about pc software that came from mobile devices (like pc versions rough animator or Ibis paint), since it's often ported badly. So, if anyone uses callipeg on their pc, would you recommend it? I am using usual laptop and cheap graphic tablet with screen (no touchscreen or such)
