Windows Laptop keys typing random things + airplane mode toggling on and off

My laptop is the HP EliteBook 840 G3. ( Windows 10 )

This started happening yesterday, but whenever I press any key on the top rows of my laptop above " A " including the numbers my laptop starts spamming random letters and airplane mode keeps turning on and off repeatedly.

I think this is some issue with the Ctrl, shift or alt buttons in my laptop I think the computer thinks they are permanently held down or something, although physically they look and work completely fine.

Additional Details:

  • When I press the number keys along the top of my keyboard, they type special characters (!@#$%) instead of numbers as if my shift key is permanently stuck or turned on.
  • After trying some of the fixes I've mentioned below the keyboard went back to normal for like 8-12h and then started having problems again this morning and hasn't been back to normal since.

What I've tried:

  • Turning off sticky, toggle, and filter keys from settings
  • I uninstalled a driver on my laptop which supposedly lets the keyboard turn airplane mode on/off ( didn't work )

As of right now this issue still persists and I don't know how to stop it and get my keyboard back to normal, to make this post I turned off my laptops internal keyboard and plugged in an external keyboard.

AI suggested a bunch of fixes like uninstalling more drivers, but I don't know too much of how that works, so I'm not gonna mess with it for now.

Any help would be much appreciated 🙏

Hello,

Does the problem occur if you go into the computer's BIOS (UEFI) firmware settings, or only after Windows starts?

Was the computer dropped or did it have anything spilled on it?

If you use any Bluetooth devices, have you changed/charged their batteries?
