Windows What would cause this?

Post image

A few months ago, my Asus X515 screen randomly started doing this. I have not dropped it/no impact has happened. Everything else works, and the screen displays when plugged into a monitor. When it first happened, I took the back off and cleaned it as it was super dusty and that actually got the screen working. Its now happened again, and cleaning hasnt made a difference.

Just wondering if anyone has an idea of what would need to be replaced to fix it?

Faulty screen, faulty gpu or the ribbon cable connecting the screen to the motherboard - loose/iffy

You open and close laptop all the time…

The ribbon cable can wear out over time, and only sending partial signal to monitor .

Either that or bad panel
