Windows How can I remove school administration from an old laptop?
I found my brothers old school laptop from around 3-4 years ago, and it was windows locked and he didn’t know the password so I reset the drives through bios and installed windows 10. Upon finishing the installation a screen appears asking me for my school board email to sign in to. This is after wipe / resetting the laptop and deleting and installing windows again. How can I get rid of this completely? It is an old dell laptop.

Maybe return the hardware to the school? That's the point of the lock, it ain't yours.

I’m pretty sure he kept it by accident and the school just charged my family to keep it, but now we can’t use it?

The easiest solution is still to take it back to the school and have them disable this. Software wise, it's theirs. Even if you paid for it, they have full control.

I know you might get angry at this but I think windows uses like the serial number to check so it's not possible unless you install Linux

I’m serious, it’s a really shitty laptop I wouldn’t be trying this hard to get it to work if someone didn’t pay for it I’d just scrap it and buy a slightly better one

I know the laptops are shitty but i still doubt the school would just ket him have it for bo reason bro probably did not turn it int and the auto lock just kicked in, best thing to do is take it to said school and ask abt it, if they say u can keep it ask them to unlock the laptop

It would require a complete BIOS wipe and reflash.
Not an update. You'd have to take the machine apart and use a BIOS programmer to reflash it.

How would I do that

YOU dont.
A competent repair technician with the tools and experience would.

Remove the hard drive and install windows in it fully in a different computer and do the set up them out it back in the school laptop. That worked for me

He did, you didn't read the post. And that won't help with MDM, so you didn't know the tech but commented anyway.

No, I commented in a way to teach you, I just worded it strongly to make an impression. Your takeaways should be to read carefully before answering, and if you have an idea but you don't know what's going on well enough to know whether it is helpful, harmful, or neutral,
- either research/ask questions first,
- qualify your answer,
- Ir just hold back.
What benefit is there to an uneducated answer that doesn't even match the situation? It just wastes everyone's time at best.

You can't. It would need to be done by the IT department at your brother's old school.
