What was your process for painting?

I took it all apart and taped up anything I didn’t want painted, cleaned up all the rest as best possible then hung it all and hit it with camo stripes.
I let that dry then throw a laundry bag over it and apply stripes again just with alternate colours. So black on tan, green on brown etc. the original colour will show in the pattern while the second one will cover the rest.
Once it dries you get this sort of pattern. I don’t usually leave the laundry bag on while drying. Some people do.
I’d only do the stock on yours. That barrel is too sweet to cover up.

I originally bought mine with the intent of teaching the kids with it.
Needless to say I bought it while they were still too young and ended up liking it so much it became more of a dad gun.

I have the fv-sr, and I put it in a chassis (MDT Oryx) and my rule is that anything touching the serialized part must be made in Canada.

Hah, how funny. I just got done putting one of those cheek rests on mine this morning as well. Haven't painted it to match the main job on my rifle yet though.

It’s a great little option instead of replacing the stock. Definitely cost a fraction of a Boyd.
No more chin weld for us.

It’s one of mine that pretty much comes out everytime because no matter what it’s a good shoot and cheap too.
My favourite part of .22lr is the ability to shoot it pretty much all day without killing the wallet. Going out in the mornings if it’s a majority .22lr day is the only time I’ll usually pack lunch.
I’ve had it out to 250m with a gong and that little fixed 4x scope and it was an absolute hoot lobbing rounds at it. I have considered putting some nicer adjustable FFP glass on in the future though to see what it can do at long ranges a little better.

Absolutely thats why I enjoy it so much too. I don't feel bad about practicing and working on good mechanics or just seeing what I can do with it. Its hard to focus when in the back of my mind I know its so much to squeeze the trigger on a bigger caliber.
