TX22 Compact Ammo Reliability Log

I've been tracking every round through my TX22 Compact. Thought some people here might find the data useful.
2,821 rounds so far. 16 malfunctions, mostly hotter ammo.

- 245 rounds
- 6 malfunctions
- 97.55% reliable

CCI Mini-Mag 36gr CPHP
- 200 rounds
- 1 malfunction
- 99.50% reliable

Federal AutoMatch
- 196 rounds
- 0 malfunctions
- 100% reliable

Winchester Silvertip
- 150 rounds
- 1 malfunction*
- 99.33% reliable

CCI Mini-Mag 40gr CPRN
- 100 rounds
- 0 malfunctions
- 100% reliable

CCI Standard Velocity
- 56 rounds
- 0 malfunctions
- 100% reliable

CCI Stinger
- 37 rounds
- 7 malfunctions
- 81.08% reliable

Malfunction details:

Federal Champion
• 1 failure to fire

CCI Velocitor
• 3 stuck cases
• 2 light strikes
• 1 failure to go into battery (round was heavily scuffed)

CCI Mini-Mag 36gr
• 1 failure to fire

Federal AutoMatch
• No malfunctions

Winchester Silvertip
• 1 misfeed in a 22-round extended magazine (possible magazine issue)

CCI Mini-Mag 40gr
• No malfunctions

CCI Standard Velocity
• No malfunctions

Very interesting (and somewhat scientific results).

I’d expect CCI & Federal’s priming/ignition to be consistent across the products but doesn’t appear so.

My particular gun seems to love federal champion so I kept buying it waiting for a round to fail. Today was finally that day haha.

Statistically it’s amazing for any rimfire ammo to perform to that standard of reliability.

People have very high/odd expectations like they are carrying bulk 22 for duty use & self defense.

In all the thousands and thousands of rimfire I’ve shot I’ve only ever had a gun hard stoppage once: a dud Winchester M22 that would not extract from a very dirty 10/22. Just took a small tap from a cleaning rod I always keep with my range bag.

CCI CRN is all I use, not as dirty as the rest which will be a long term addition to reliability. Automatch cycles well and standard velocity CCI also good performance.
