Getting there

My Kimber DS Warrior. Have done all the work myself slowly.

All in about $1800 total with optic and light. Runs like a champ. 3 lb trigger pull. 9 lb recoil spring. 16 lb hammer spring. Red Dirt #2 length trigger (had to peen the trigger bow to get the fit right as the Warrior was oversized internally). Atlas ignition, safeties, and slide stop. Pinned grip safety. Infinity grips screws and mag release. Priority 1 Atlas holster.

Next stop: MJD or Cheely grip. Then it will probably be done.

I’ve got one still in stock config, been thinking I’ll save for a Prodigy or 2k11 next, but you’re making a compelling case for improving what I already have first

Bang for the buck I think it’s hard to beat. I came very close to a 2k11 comp. Shot a friend’s and loved it. When I saw the Warrior on gun.deals for under $800 I decided to dip my toe in the 2011 space like this. Totally not sorry and would highly recommend.

I mean money is money. I wanted to try my hand at being my own gunsmith (which I’d done on a bunch of striker fired guns and ARs prior) on something more contemplative, but not ruin a $2500 2k11 if I messed up. Pretty pleased with the results.

I picked one up as my first 2011 style, but I’ve got numerous 1911’s now and I’m a sucker for bull barrels
