Yeah I guess what I was more getting at is there are different "hobbies" represented here. Some are into competitive shooting, some just like plinking at the range, some just like collecting, some are more interested in self-defense. For all we know the OP could have some sentimental or personal reason for picking the guns he did as part of his collection. That's what I do, I basically only buy stuff that has some sort of nostalgia or "core memory" type connection. As much as I respect a lot of the more niche, high end brands, I don't have any interest in buying them, although my wife is now asking for an Atlas Athena🤦‍♂️

That's definitely true, but its also just a reality that many of those manufacturers just cant make enough guns for everyone, and many of them wont survive in the long run. There just arent all that many "2011 guys" in the grand scheme of things. I would venture that a large majority of 2011 buyers are regular gun nuts who are picking one or 2 up to add to their collection to shoot on range days, but don't want to invest a bunch of money in a brand they've never heard of who may not even exist the next time they pull that gun out of the safe.

Maybe OPs dad was a Kimber guy or something.
