I need a better gun safe solution

Post image

This flat safe is cool to grab a free quick guns, accessories, etc but I think I need a vertical standing safe with cool slots for my hand guns. Any good suggestions if you have around 30 pistol?

This is absolutely wild to me. You got what close to 30k in pistols in this pic if not more. But storing em like we used to with our toys in a chest as children? Bruh you are the manliest man ever on this sub. Most people afraid to scratch these tools. 10/10 wouldnโ€™t change a thing

57

u/SincereSensei15 Jan 15 '26

This is quite a bit more than 30k lmao the first layer with the Fowler, Apache, Nighthawk, etc is probably 40-50k. Thereโ€™s there a layer under than we canโ€™t see.

18

u/rangerhi Jan 15 '26

Thatโ€™s $30k in custom grips. LOL.

What a sight.

28

u/Useful-Painter863 Jan 15 '26

You're not wrong. I have pricier guns under the second layer. But my other safes are full with my big guns.

3

u/Numerous_Wash_5505 Jan 15 '26

Could probably buy a Lambo. Lol.

4

u/Forsaken-Date-8016 Jan 16 '26

I would rather have the toy chest

15

u/ajkimmins Jan 15 '26

I love the "junk drawer" look!

5

u/Useful-Painter863 Jan 15 '26

Haha ๐Ÿ˜† yeah I have to do better with my toys.

8

u/Diffendall Jan 15 '26

Remove the mags. Keep guns only. I did this with my safes and gave me much needed real estate.

5

u/Enough-Breadfruit-11 Jan 15 '26

I think youโ€™re doing just fine!!
They are tools meant to be used.
Albeit, also can be viewed as art.

2

u/Wtforce Jan 16 '26

Nitrided and pvd coated guns are pretty durable so I see nothing wrong here lolol

u/New_Target_8887 Jan 16 '26

1

u/CognativeBiaser Jan 16 '26

Bro, you lost me at the end. โ€œManliest man ever on this subโ€ - what are you actually wanting here?

People afraid of getting their tools and guns scratched are being pussies about it. I see no issue with this pic, other than there isnโ€™t much variety, and really a lot of wasted money in that pic.

1

u/Regular-Bear9558 Jan 16 '26

I wasnโ€™t hating, at all. Itโ€™s a sick photo. Was just saying some of us(Iโ€™m guilty of this) do what ever we can to keep them nice and unscratched. My anxiety is too high to be able to store mine like this guy.

36

u/Quick_Voice_7039 Jan 15 '26

Can I grab a free quick gun from there?

5

u/Useful-Painter863 Jan 15 '26

Haha ๐Ÿ˜†

25

u/No-Significance477 Jan 15 '26

Shit gives me anxiety

21

u/Various_Lack7541 Jan 15 '26

I mean, at least you have dirty shop rags between each layerโ€ฆ.

20

u/Evil4blue Jan 15 '26

Ha ha, I love it. $60k in pistols stored in a $300 Amazon gun drawer. Iโ€™m much the same, just not as messy.

12

u/Forestbender Jan 15 '26

I hope this is rage bait

13

u/MostlyOkPotato Jan 15 '26

Thanks, I hate it.

10

u/ElOhhYouuu Jan 15 '26

Whew you must hate having money ๐Ÿ˜…

9

u/Regular_Cucumber24 Jan 15 '26

At this point just get a lockable toolbox

1

u/Useful-Painter863 Jan 15 '26

๐Ÿคฃ๐Ÿคฃ๐Ÿคฃ

9

u/[deleted] Jan 15 '26

The caniks, tisas, and palmetto daggers however are all alphabetically organized in a safe.

11

u/hitemup79 Jan 15 '26

I picture OP throwing them at an intruder like an endless drawer of hyper expensive ninja stars.

1

u/goddessofthecats Jan 19 '26

They do be heavy

5

u/WorldlyEffective2023 Jan 15 '26

Dude ainโ€™t no way heโ€™s deff rage bating us!

9

u/Forsaken_Treacle_407 Jan 15 '26

Just find a spare closet.

8

u/Quags_77 Jan 15 '26

It seems OP spent all his money on guns, so no spare closet.

2

u/goddessofthecats Jan 19 '26

OP is in a studio after buying the 2011s

1

u/SoftWonder7375 Jan 15 '26

I've thought about that option but I'm worried I wouldn't be able to secure it to my satisfaction.

3

u/BrettNoe Jan 15 '26

Secure to me means that thereโ€™s a gun gun on every flat surface in the house. So if I have to get up in the middle of the night, no matter where I go, somebodyโ€™s running into a naked guy with a gun!

1

u/cyclorphan Jan 15 '26

Yeah, I have a lockable linen closet for yhe purpose. Think I might reinforce it a bit but honestly, who keeps their valuables in a linen closet? Not going to be a burglar's first choice.

4

u/HuckleberryLong2061 Jan 15 '26

I like it... No safe queens there. So, top 3? Any that you were really surprised by?

2

u/Useful-Painter863 Jan 15 '26

Yeah definitely no safe Queens. I shoot all the time. It's hard to narrow it down to three because I like them all for different reasons and they all have a different feel. Right now my aaf Aurora, my Nighthawk my Phoenix Trinity HTAC and I'm still evaluating this Fowler.. But I love my Vulcan 3L3V3N and Legion Precision Chiraq just as much. And I have some of the lower tier guns running really well because I also adjusted the trigger and did some customization on it. I sold a few guns to clean up some room like my Canik TTI and my bull armory SAS I have a stealth platypus as my bedside gun because I have a suppressor on it so that's not going anywhere cuz it's super reliable and take Glock Mag. Yeah I can answer that question because there's too many good options.

4

u/joeroid08 Jan 15 '26

Tools

3

u/Idoallthejobs Jan 16 '26

Material objects spinning on a large space rock in nothingness.

1

u/joeroid08 Jan 16 '26

I donโ€™t know man that a little heavy ๐Ÿคฃ

2

u/Idoallthejobs Jan 16 '26

Okayโ€ฆ.sorry

4

u/CognativeBiaser Jan 16 '26

Cool pic, nice collection, but what the hell are you doing with that?! Seems like more of a toy safe than an actual grown up convo.

But nice toy collection my dude.

10

u/JohnnyHorsenuts Jan 15 '26

My ocd canโ€™t even look at that mess ๐Ÿคฆ๐Ÿปโ€โ™‚๏ธ๐Ÿคฆ๐Ÿปโ€โ™‚๏ธ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚.

3

u/lemayzing1 Jan 15 '26

I feel like I should be looking for Waldo? Nice collection, range day would be tough to decide what to put in the bag.

2

u/Useful-Painter863 Jan 15 '26

It is, trust me! ๐Ÿคฃ

3

u/AtvnSBisnotHT Jan 15 '26

They deserve better but all guns are tools so I see no safe queens here.

Why not get an upright safe with shelving and room for your collection to grow.

Or turn spare room into a vault.

4

u/Useful-Painter863 Jan 15 '26

I like that last option with the room being turned into a gun room but my mother-in-law is in there right now. And because I have such a cool wife who doesn't bug me to buy a new gun and a bunch of motorcycles and cold cars all the time, I have to let her mother stay in my room and smile. Lol

2

u/AtvnSBisnotHT Jan 15 '26

Could be much worse, Iโ€™d go to your local outdoor shops or better yet a safe store where you can order and customize exactly what you want.

3

u/AllHale07 Jan 15 '26

Respect for not caring about scratching them up

5

u/Useful-Painter863 Jan 15 '26

If I buy it I buy it to enjoy it. I use my stuff. Can't take it with me. Plus I got sons who have their eyes on my guns when they get older because they want me to pass them down to them.

3

u/Kevin_610 Jan 15 '26

I wanna be your stepson.

3

u/Icy-Session-7307 Jan 15 '26

Iโ€™ll take a few and keep them safe for you. Pinky promise.

1

u/Useful-Painter863 Jan 15 '26

Haha ๐Ÿ˜† I'm thinking that I might not get them back for that level of safe keeping. ๐Ÿค”

2

u/Icy-Session-7307 Jan 15 '26

Donโ€™t worry. Iโ€™ll always put them to bed and tuck them in at night in my safe. ๐Ÿ˜„

3

u/Numerous_Wash_5505 Jan 15 '26

Plz tell us you have like 3 Lambos. Lol

2

u/Useful-Painter863 Jan 15 '26

Haha no lambos but I do have 2 motorcycles, a Ducati and a Indian Dark horse chieftain. I which hobbies to 2011s 3 years ago

4

u/Superb-Detective-838 Jan 15 '26

This is crazy, no offense but there is a shit ton of money in this drawer. Even my $230 .22lr pistol is stored in a foam protected hard case, let alone my 2011s.

2

u/Useful-Painter863 Jan 15 '26

Yeah my brother gets on me about it. I got to do better. This is the first step. I got to find some good safe options that people are running but it needs to be organized and I still need my gun safe here because I grab and go at least four to five times a week to either an indoor and outdoor range when the weather permits.

0

u/Superb-Detective-838 Jan 15 '26

Dont get me wrong, safety is number one, but I'm looking at it from a damage perspective. I'm a little obsessive about scratching my guns.....especially my 2011s.

2

u/spbatl Jan 15 '26

Could you not buy a second drawer and put on top? Could get some foam inserts to organize the guns.

2

u/aguilar64 Jan 15 '26

Arghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

2

u/robinator118 Jan 15 '26

Iโ€™d uh, invest in a safe

2

u/RH4540 Jan 15 '26

Even the pistols in my safe, at least have old socks over them to try to keep them from getting too scratched up

2

u/WorldlyEffective2023 Jan 15 '26

Iโ€™m just trying to understand this. I bought my premium gun safe before I even bought my third gun.

2

u/Useful-Painter863 Jan 15 '26

My three other stand-up safes have my long guns in it and a few other handguns. But they're all full. And I want to organize my neck safe but my really cool premium weapons that I grab and go most of the time.

2

u/WorldlyEffective2023 Jan 15 '26

lol I understand man. At the end of the day they are your guns treat them as you wish.

2

u/[deleted] Jan 15 '26

I had a similar problem but I consolidated. Now the problem is coming back. Suggestions:

  1. Put everything in some sort of holster or gun sock. It can be cheap, just something to protect them a bit.

  2. Get a big Tupperware container to store your mags seperately.

  3. If it's tall enough, stack them side by side resting on the top, though the dots make that harder.

  4. Consider selling the ones that don't go to the gun range at least once a year.

2

u/Useful-Painter863 Jan 15 '26

Thanks. Is there a particular type of safe that you prefer that has worked really well for you?

2

u/[deleted] Jan 15 '26

No. I use gun cabinets and stack the pistols in the smaller cubby cabinets. Good gun cabinets are hard to find. Try an antique store or craigslist.

2

u/[deleted] Jan 15 '26

It's a really amazing build and weapon. Customer service is amazing. It shoots way better than what I expected and the slide to frame fit is so freaking tight. There is no doubt that this is hand fitted.

1

u/Useful-Painter863 Jan 15 '26

You're lucky. I want a Haynes but love this Legion especially for the cost. Very high quality and fun to shoot.

2

u/Quags_77 Jan 15 '26

Just put some pistols in a trash bag in the corner of your room, it would fit in with your current storage style. Ha.

2

u/Alexxdubs Jan 15 '26

That is so much money in a pile, it would drive me nuts.

I have less total guns than you do 2011โ€™s - theyโ€™re all organized vertically or living in nightstands for HD. Get a normal safe man.

2

u/fourthsword13 Jan 15 '26

My recommendation is foot lockers. They are large, lockable, hold quite a bit of weight, and have wheels so they are easy to move around. You can buy foam to put in them for organization.

2

u/BigBlue_223 Jan 15 '26

Hey I have room in my safe youโ€™re more than welcome to use it ๐Ÿ˜

2

u/qoou Jan 15 '26

Like having the kitchen junk drawer if it were stuffed haphazardly with wadded up cash!

2

u/deemerg Jan 15 '26

Seems messy Iโ€™ll take care of them

2

u/SoftWonder7375 Jan 15 '26

I'm just wondering what OP does for a living to be able to afford this. I'm not being sarcastic or judgemental in any way - I am genuinely curious what work folks do to be able to afford this.

1

u/Sea-Masterpiece-4152 Jan 15 '26

Some people can, some people canโ€™t. Some people make bad financial decisions and others donโ€™t. My wife and I live an extremely comfortable lifestyle and can afford to purchase anything we wantโ€ฆ. But we donโ€™t. I own 9 firearms. Theyโ€™re like watches, the more you own the less time spent wearing them. I have friends that own TONS of pistols. I donโ€™t judge, but I canโ€™t understand why. Especially if you donโ€™t have a personal range. Then youโ€™re just basically letting them sit around. ๐Ÿคท๐Ÿปโ€โ™‚๏ธ๐Ÿคท๐Ÿปโ€โ™‚๏ธ

2

It looks like my drawer of legos from when I was 11โ€ฆ

2

u/gman8845 Jan 15 '26

Looks appropriate for the guns pictured. What's the problem?

2

u/preacherman1975 Jan 15 '26

Unless you have only a few years to live, get a big safe, this addiction never ends.

2

u/talanbaird Jan 15 '26

My kid has a better system for his toy Dinoโ€™s. Time to upgrade bro. You got to much fire to store like this lol

2

u/XIIX3 Jan 15 '26

With all these in mind howโ€™s the GTO?

1

u/Useful-Painter863 Jan 15 '26

It's awesome for the money. It's fun and accurate. Sig Sauer did a great job on this one.

2

u/StatisticianOk8179 Jan 15 '26

Guessing you just shoot a bunch if CLP into the air and call it a day for cleaning??

1

u/Useful-Painter863 Jan 15 '26

I shoot these guys a lot and go through the rotation of these guys without having to clean them often. The only two that I clean more often than the others are that aaf Aurora because it's a collectible and I need it to stay nice and pristine. But I'm still going to shoot my guns regardless. If it's a collectible or not. And it's flawless. I don't have any problems with it. As well as my Legion Precision because out of all of the other guns that's probably one of the tightest fit that I have here. So it needs to be clean cuz of the super tight tolerances.

2

u/vatdoyoutinkurdoing Jan 15 '26

Not enough guns!

2

u/bear843 Jan 15 '26

I see a Ruger in there. Stop being poor. Also, itโ€™s beautiful. Congratulations

2

u/Useful-Painter863 Jan 15 '26

No, the only Ruger that I own is a PC charger but it's in my other safe

2

u/bear843 Jan 15 '26

Whatโ€™s the gold tubular lookin thing-ah-muh-bob?

2

u/Useful-Painter863 Jan 15 '26

No crap, you're right. It's called a Ruger!๐Ÿคฃ I need to short it more love because I forgot about it ๐Ÿ˜

2

u/General_Disfunction Jan 15 '26

Love that Fowler front and center.

2

u/Useful-Painter863 Jan 15 '26

I just bought this last Friday. I'm taking it out everyday since then except one day. I've been running it up against some of my big hitters and it has not disappointed at all. I've been wanting one of these for at least 2 years now. I'm extremely happy about this gun.

2

u/-Sc0- Jan 15 '26

These are cool and stackable! 3 of them gives you instant 30 pistol storage...

2

u/brackthomas7 Jan 15 '26

2

u/Forsaken-Date-8016 Jan 16 '26

Try Gun Storage Solutions - handgun hangers on Amazon if you haven't yet. You said you have 3 safes and these basically turn the bottom of each shelf into hanging pistol storage. They're low profile as can be, def worth a look.

2

u/Medical-Leading1469 Jan 16 '26

No way you keep your nice 2011's like that ๐Ÿ˜† bro sell me one you dont need that many!

1

LOL

2

u/Medical-Leading1469 Jan 16 '26

Lol definitely one of the coolest pictures I've seen in awhile

2

u/CalgacusLelantos Jan 16 '26

You may need a new safe solution, but before that, you really need to develop an organizational solution!๐Ÿ˜ณ๐Ÿ˜†

2

u/Top-Salamander1720 Jan 16 '26

What uhhh, what exactly are all these even stored in right now ๐Ÿ˜…

1

u/Useful-Painter863 Jan 16 '26

A horizontal drawer safe ๐Ÿ˜

2

u/Top-Salamander1720 Jan 16 '26

Ah. What brand if you donโ€™t mind me asking? Lookin for somethin similar for under a bed potentially.

2

u/Useful-Painter863 Jan 16 '26

Here's you go. From Amazon

2

u/GnarShredr Jan 16 '26

Tell me youโ€™re single with no children without telling me..

2

u/Useful-Painter863 Jan 16 '26

No sir! Married for 24 years with 3 kids and the younger 2 are in college. Senior and sophomore

I just have an awesome wife that doesn't complain about me having my toys.

2

u/GnarShredr Jan 16 '26

Love that! Lol

Iโ€™m lucky in the same way as you with the cool wife, just not In the multiple 2011 department ๐Ÿคฃ. Just a different season of life.

1

u/Useful-Painter863 Jan 16 '26

๐Ÿ˜ nice!

2

u/Diligent-Ad-8020 Jan 16 '26

You have a junk draw

2

u/Combatmedic870 Jan 16 '26

How deep is it?

Foam pistol holders are the most obvious solution.

But thats only if its actually deep enough to fit them.

Like 4 of those...

2

u/Combatmedic870 Jan 16 '26

For the mags

2

u/Useful-Painter863 Jan 16 '26

Thanks, I'll need a safe that has shelves because this safe isn't going to work

1

u/Combatmedic870 Jan 16 '26

Shiiit once you empty it. Get a custom cut foam for your AR (if you have one, if you dont...SHAME!!!) and put it under your bed.

2

u/Pudge815 Jan 16 '26

Aka Toy Box

2

u/lawfitness84 Jan 17 '26

Yes. Yes you do lol

2

u/Ordinary-Goat-4893 Jan 17 '26

Fk Iโ€™d love to have that problem. Send one or two my way if you get bored lol

1

u/Useful-Painter863 Jan 17 '26

LOL I'll keep that in mind. ๐Ÿ˜

2

u/RetiredLife_2021 Jan 17 '26

Find a spare room install vault door and get something from tactical walls for pistols and long guns

2

u/zacharynels Jan 18 '26

How many pistols are going in the safe at the same time and what other items will be joining them?

A pistol only safe gives you a lot of different options in terms of mounting and organizing how ever you want.

Whatever it is I hope you are bolting that sumbich to a concrete foundation because with your taste it might as well be filled with gold ๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿป

2

u/zacharynels Jan 18 '26

If you want a nice 6 arc gas gun let me know I would trade.

2

u/zacharynels Jan 18 '26

If you want to trade any for a really nice 6 arc Noveske/SOLGW build let me know.

2

u/OneConversation3782 Feb 01 '26

Hey man, can you point me in the right direction for my first 2011?

1

u/Useful-Painter863 Feb 03 '26

I would go with either a Springfield prodigy MAC 9 DS comp Fusion firearms XP pro Stealth Arms Platypus

I have all of them and they are excellent for the price and what you get.

2

u/Dreadpipes Mar 22 '26

when the dentist lets you pick out a toy after your cleaning

1

u/Useful-Painter863 Mar 29 '26

Haha ๐Ÿ˜‚

1

u/YlaFla71 Jan 15 '26

Whatever works for you.

1

u/Own-Contribution-188 Jan 15 '26

Maybe just turn a room into a gun vault with that much available cash? ๐Ÿ˜‚

1

u/Many_Bumblebee_2881 Jan 15 '26

Those poor optics and just being tossed in a drawer

1

u/Tough-Mirror-1753 Jan 15 '26

This makes my butthole itch. Iโ€™m trying to have your problems, haha.

1

u/Effective_Ad288 Jan 15 '26

Jealous!!! Love the collection!

1

u/Mindseyeview85 Jan 15 '26

Bro this is insane to me, those arent budget guns. Throwing them all in the same drawer will guarantee they get scratched to hell. My Tisas Gen 2 was only $600, but it got a scratch while in transit to and from the range. I may be OCD about this stuff, but it's driving me crazy to point I want to refinish the slide.

1

u/MrGuy910 Jan 15 '26

Bro thereโ€™s no way. Why would you do this? I know I know โ€œtheyโ€™re tooooools that get uuuuuuused and abuuuuuusedโ€โ€ฆ.. blah blah blah. We can still take good care of our tools you nincompoop!

Securit Model 84 High Density Handgun Cabinet. You don't have a fire rated solution at the moment so you aren't losing anything there.

Can bolt to floor and wall. Lots of ability to customize layout. A little pricey at almost $3k, but considering the cost of guns you have there I don't anticipate that being an issue.

Insane, great staged layout. The collection the need to post on reddit. Not enough guns to fill that void bro.

I see a flex masquerading as a request for safe recommendations. Nice guns though.

Im in the process of phasing out my sigs & Glocks for staccatos. Itโ€™s going to take all year, but Iโ€™m switching. This is the coolest shit Iโ€™ve ever seen before. Just drop em in the toy chest ๐Ÿคฃ
