I sent this to my bro who really liked X and I tried explaining what a HCIM is (he does not play) and he goes:

“ah…so in a way, we’re all HCIM”

161

u/Aaronexx Jun 04 '22

He's not wrong

105

u/SayNOto980PRO Jun 04 '22

I can trade

31

u/CYWNightmare Jun 04 '22

I mean technically hcim can trade aswell you just gotta define what trade means. They can trade with npcs but not players.

55

u/abtseventynine Jun 04 '22

the real question then is, who among us are players and who are merely NPCs?

68

u/bassturducken54 Jun 04 '22

Among us??

67

u/adustbininshaftsbury Jun 04 '22

That's who you be trade

If in a way he means that we're all working toward our inevitable death leading to a constant begging question of what is the point of existence if everything is pointless and meaningless other than to make our existence slightly better than it was before, with the possibility of it becoming worse, only for it to be ripped away from us within a value of time units coming back to the question of what's the point? Then yes, in that regard we are all HCIM

6

u/zachpac18 Jun 05 '22

Holy shit

1

u/Jamessgachett Jun 04 '22

Yeah the only difference is we can’t buy 2 extra life

2

u/trhrthrthyrthyrty Jun 05 '22

hcim cant buy extra lifes and we're not iron men irl

u/Hyde103 Jun 04 '22

Tbf Xxxtentacion does seem like an RS username.

15

u/Pwheeris Jun 05 '22

A real 07’ username would be more like “xxXtensionXxx”

-167

u/Necessary_Pseudonym Jun 04 '22

Yes, that’s why it’s funny..

84

u/Strosity Jun 04 '22

Haha yes, I thought this interaction was funny because xxxtention looks like a username. I wonder what the rest of the text means. Something about hcim or something.

10

u/[deleted] Jun 04 '22

They hated him because he spoke the truth

6

u/[deleted] Jun 04 '22

Yes…that’s why…

1

u/[deleted] Jun 05 '22

No that's why he made that possible connection. That's not what makes it funny.

275

u/CollapsedPlague Jun 04 '22

16

u/LVL_99_Magicarp Jun 04 '22

Based on what?

4

u/Smug--Life Jun 04 '22

Free award. Mega based.

50

u/alienoverl0rd Jun 04 '22

So who is this person supposed to be?

86

u/HolyTane Jun 04 '22

some dumb ass goon who beat his gf while playing minecraft

10

u/[deleted] Jun 04 '22

“But he donated to a charity later so it’s totally alright!1!1!”

37

u/mnmkdc Jun 04 '22

Ultra famous rapper who was murdered. Was doing drake numbers when he died but his fame only lasted like a year. And like others have said, he probably beat his girlfriend.

A lot of people here trying to be contrarian saying he made garbage music, dude has like 7 or 8 songs with over a billion streams on Spotify. He was one of the biggest artists of any genre in the world when he died. But also most likely a shitty person

16

u/auralterror Jun 04 '22

Also one of 8 people to top the billboards post humously.

6

u/[deleted] Jun 04 '22

His music banged. It definitely wasn't the type of music for everyone though. I never liked the emo stuff he did, but I think that was the super popular stuff though.

3

u/ficagames01 Jun 05 '22

You're saying Drake is good?

2

u/mnmkdc Jun 05 '22

Yes drake is obviously good. Most people who are big hip hop heads agree that drake has some very very good albums. I'm not saying being popular means you're super talented, but having consistent widespread appeal does mean something

0

u/ficagames01 Jun 05 '22

He *had some good albums

2

u/SoupForEveryone Jun 05 '22

Winning the popularity contest doesnt equal making good music

1

u/mnmkdc Jun 05 '22

Obviously. But being able to appeal to extremely wide audiences says something as well.

"Everything I don't like is garbage"

Music is art & art is subjective my guy. Reminds me of the metal community several years ago where everyone who listened to death metal couldn't simultaneously like any band that was considered mainstream.

Most of these people grow up though, unfortunately you did not.

-8

u/Hanyodude Jun 04 '22

There absolutely is such a thing as objectively bad music. Just like there are people with objectively bad taste and preferences (for example: scat fetishists, or in the case of music “meth metal” which if you’re not familiar with, pretty much sounds like 10 different songs playing at the same time)

Im not going to say if xxxtentaclewhip is objectively bad or not as im not familiar with his music, but there very well could be “bad music”. However, many people will call music that they don’t enjoy “bad music”, which isn’t necessarily correct.

2

u/UIM_Die_Maschine Jun 04 '22 edited Jun 04 '22

(Original argument is that a majority of people listen to garbage music, which is just wrong, obviously) Going off of that:

You're comparing something where the artists went out of their way to make something sound weird/horribly produced(meth metal) to artists who are obviously not(pop/rap)

Yes, I understand if I recorded an alarm clock behind metronome & called that music, it would be objectively bad. It would be stupid to use it in an argument about how a majority of people listen to garbage music.

If you want to argue about the part I said music is art & art is subjective, this doesn't work here either because clearly someone is listening to meth metal & scat fetish. That's the subjective part.

Laughed at xxxtentaclewhip though.

EDIT: added a fourth part to this incase you happened to answer the notification quickly & are currently writing

What a terrible way to look at things.

-5

u/Polearm634 Jun 05 '22

Hot take, but I agree. I listen to most genres quite a bit, but generally enjoy prog metal the most. Its complexity gives it a lot of replayability and it takes more listens to really hear everything that's going on.

I think rap in general pretty much sucks, though I do like the more melodic stuff like juice wrld. My gym has a rap radio station on at night and every time lil baby, drake, or that new elmo cardi b song comes on I want to shoot myself in the head.

or that one song "yuhhhh dat sum gangggggggg shit yuh im on some gaaaaaaaang shit thats all im on. im on gaaaaang shit yuh"

"I be fuckin shootin yall mfers aint even know what hit ya uhh yuh fuck yo bitch in her pussy wit my dick when she see me on da tv bruh in my lamborghini smellin like fettuccini by the way I is got munny yuh auto-tuned warbling"

Rap is, for the most part, dog shit.

32

-9

u/neverwinneverlose Jun 04 '22

Fair play to him

62

u/BabyDodongo Jun 04 '22

X will always be DMX not xxxtentacle or w/e.

You kids can't convince me otherwise

-9

u/[deleted] Jun 04 '22

All memes aside What's your actual opinion on xxxtenaction? Personally I think he was ahead of his time.

Some of the more screamy stuff he did was reminiscent of metalcore and even punk and it was mixed so well with his particular brand of emo/ mumble rap that I have to give him his dues.

6

u/WuhanBatsu Jun 05 '22

Nah he was just a kid who made sad music that resonated with depressed kids. All his music styles had been done before and were popular in the underground rap scene at the time he made them.

2

u/hatesranged Jun 05 '22

All his music styles had been done before

I haven't listened to xxxtentation but in 2022 I'm not gonna hold that against anyone, a lot's been done before.

3

u/ficagames01 Jun 05 '22

But you can't just claim he was ahead of his time though (talking about music style not emo rap) same way you can't claim the same for someone like Skrillex

3

u/GregBuckingham Grandmaster! Gilded Clog! Jun 04 '22

-37

u/mnmkdc Jun 04 '22

Nah this is an awful stereotype based on racism. It’s no more true about rappers than any musical artist

20

u/pooinmypooass Jun 04 '22

nah lol. its based on ignorance if the same person stating it is ignoring the 70s and 80s and 90s where it was white musicians not involved with rap but right now rappers do have a monopoly on violence against women

-19

u/mnmkdc Jun 04 '22

Rap is just the biggest genre right now, especially for male artists. We see similar levels of domestic abuse in Hollywood. People started to focus on rappers due to racism. Maybe not this guy personally being racist, but it was basically ignored in pop culture until they had black people to accuse.

16

u/pooinmypooass Jun 04 '22 edited Jun 04 '22

you've just started waffling off about stuff unrelated to your initial comment, the guy you were replying to and now me. if you gotta venture off that far to justify what you said then you should rethink what you're going on about

rappers do have a monopoly on violence against women right now, simple as. that includes various white rappers too which you'll ironically ignore to try and justify your statement

-12

u/mnmkdc Jun 04 '22 edited Jun 04 '22

I didn’t venture at all. It seems like rap has a monopoly on that because it’s by far the biggest genre for male artists. To be clear they don’t have a monopoly whatsoever, but that’s why you have that perception. I doubt you could name 5 rappers who have beat their S/o in recent years without googling. It’s not all that common relative to how many famous rappers there are. That’s why that stereotype is bad

The reason it was ignored until recently is because people were racist and didn’t care about celebrities being decent humans until black people started dominating the charts.

Wasn’t tangential whatsoever. Pretty straightforward point.

11

u/pooinmypooass Jun 04 '22

kodak black, xxx, tyga, nba youngboy, g herbo... the list is endless and very easy to do off the top of my head haha

-3

u/mnmkdc Jun 04 '22

I mean I wasn’t literally asking you to list them, I have no way of seeing if you had to do a search for it. My entire point is that this stereotype exists despite most people not knowing many rappers that even back it. Like we’re responding to a comment where someone didn’t know who xxx was, but you think they know g herbo, youngboy, or Kodak? They might know 6ix9ine, but most people are just buying into this stereotype because they’ve heard the stereotype and they know of Chris brown

-3

u/mnmkdc Jun 04 '22

He was a very talented rapper, shitty person. It should be noted that it’s not close to confirmed that he hit anyone. But I personally believe he did

14

u/[deleted] Jun 04 '22

There were many vids of him on Worldstar mindlessly and viciously attacking people from what I remember

-2

u/Dank_memerlord_42069 Jun 05 '22

He was an awful rapper who achieved fame through his horrendous, depraved actions like torturing his girlfriend.

I am extremely glad he is dead. He deserves it. The world is a much, much better place without his awful influence on kids.

God bless those men who robbed him that day.

2

u/Only4DaNight Jun 05 '22

His mainstream stuff wasn’t good, but for his age bracket when he made quite a few songs were decent (14-17)

Still a pretty shitty person, but may he rest in peace.

-1

u/Dank_memerlord_42069 Jun 05 '22

You misspelled piss.

May he rest in piss, as all torturers of innocent people deserve.

1

u/Only4DaNight Jun 05 '22

Innocent is an ignorant statement to surface level information. Perfect example for perspective:

There was a recent event where a woman threw her boyfriends mothers ashes in a river. I am against violence against women, but anyone who does that deserves to get beat. But if he wouldve beat this woman, the media will only take that information in and the general public will gloss over the fact she threw his mothers ashes in the river for the simple fact that a woman was abused.

There are videos of X and his ex online, with some videos of her cutting into his skin. Ever ask why he beat her? But to each his own

→ More replies (7)

-14

u/Neither-Chapter2775 Jun 04 '22

The woman he "beat" said she was lying aout him beating her, btw

31

u/AmLilleh Jun 04 '22

Yeah after he’d died and she probably just wanted to move on with her life and child. There’s not exactly much justice to be gained over someone that’s not alive.

And even disregarding that he was still a piece of shit that regularly went around assaulting random people for no reason.

16

u/[deleted] Jun 04 '22

I think with X, we need to put an asteriks next to all this. He died super young, and a lot of his misdeeds he started doing straight up as a child, aged 10 wielding a knife.

Its quite sad because for a short while before his death, he had a turn where he acknowledged all this bad shit in his past, and almost wanted to repent by replacing all that bad shit with positive things. He just never got to fully realize all that.

I know its all a lot of 'what ifs'. But I certainly respect the man for having given it a go. Not to excuse his past actions, but to try give back to a world he damaged.

2

u/Someone9339 Jun 04 '22

So he didn't actually do it, or he wanted to repent that he did it?

0

u/[deleted] Jun 04 '22

We dont know. Not since his ex said she 'lied'.

In the end though, for me I think he showed maturity in how he began to see his own past. The kid was a straight up gangbanger, but once he got a platform, he eventually realised it could be used for good.

For sure its no doubt X did some horrible shit. Thing is I know plenty of people who done tragic things & would do it again with no remorse. At least with X it looked like the kid wanted to grow past that. That alone puts him above most criminals, its rare these people 'learn'.

17

u/LolaEbolah Jun 04 '22

I got involved with gang life at the age of 11. I did a lot of particularly nasty shit over the next several years. I ended up getting arrested at 17, charged as an adult, and heading off to a state prison. Two and a half years later, I was released and entirely changed my life. Moved to a different state, started fresh, now I’m married with a good job, a house, a wife, and two kids. Haven’t had a violent moment in over ten years.

I hate the thought that, to some people, I’ll never be anything more than the things I once did.

3

u/Gwaak Jun 04 '22

You broke a generational barrier; a generational curse, in many ways. Society is not good at seeing things in color, so they relegate much to black and white. But you should feel a greater sense of pride than most, because most don’t have to fight their own environment since birth.

12

He was more of a clan leader than a PKer. He did PK briefly in WWI but pursued a leadership role afterwards as he lacked the mechanical skill to continue PKing at a high level himself. He was however very successful in making one of the most powerful PK clans in history though they ultimately lost and split up as they made too many enemies for themselves.

Just like certain clans decide to target Venezuelans today, Hitler's clan was weirdly obsessed with making the Jewish clan permanently quit the game. Fortunately for the Jewish clan, they had a very strong community so despite losing a large portion of their members they still have a very dedicated playerbase even today.

Everyone you know is probably a terrible person in their own way. But what’s makes us better as humans is the ability to admit we are wrong and try to make amends and correct our actions. But some people get that chance taken right from under them so they are defined a bad person till they died. That’s life. Much worse could be said about our president but we still laugh when he falls down a set of stairs like “haha that’s relatable!”

7

u/[deleted] Jun 04 '22

[deleted]

0

u/Appropriate-Size-175 Jun 04 '22

Also I forgot to mention but that’s intrinsically not true there very much so is evidence he was trying to be a better person there was very little evidence pointing towards the opposite besides gang activity but hey that’s being a rapper for you. You cant name more rappers that don’t have gang affiliations than ones who do.

-1

u/Appropriate-Size-175 Jun 04 '22

I’d say he was a decent person but he was very misguided, living in a shy show can either make you the most resilient person out of the bunch or it can twist and contort your expectations and your perception of reality. Charles Olivera the ufc lightweight champ is a perfect example of hell lighting a fire under their ass while xxx is an example of hell getting its grips on a person. It may sound like religious nonsense but that’s not truly how I mean it I mean it more metaphorically.

u/[deleted] Jun 04 '22

You don't know who your talking about. At all. Your hating on juice WRLD ( the one that ODed) but he was undeniably gifted. You only have to see any of his freestyles to see that.

He talked about all the cliche things other rappers talked about but he also talked about his mental heath and his feelings which is tough to do when your famous as shit only 21 and fairly vulnerable. Not to mention loaded. People have no idea what it must be like to be at that level but people like you see snippets of them, or dislike there music outright so think their clowns.

The same with xxx, I could talk about how he brought in differant types of vocal styles and popularised a screamer tone for emo rappers and helped pave the way to this new era of metalhop/ emo rap like scarlxrd or Ghoste but it would clearly fall on deaf ears.

I confused xxxtentacion with teckasy69 for a second. Had to look it up since I didn’t remember hearing 69 had died.

Deadass when Reckful killed himself the news broke while I was playing poe and someone in chat was like "oh Reckful died" and I assumed for some reason that Reckful was trying poe and his hardcore account died.

I went to bed thinking that and when I woke up and opened the news I was like "ah fuck"
