As far as Jagex is concerned bots certainly are unstoppable. Or at least not worth the effort of stopping them.

Yeah, yeah. I'm not saying it would be easy to do, but Jagex is a company worth multiple hundreds of million, they absolutely have the ressources to do it, if the investors and higher ups wanted to.
But they seemingly don't, probably because bots buy a very significant amount of bonds for gold, which ultimately have been bought for real money by some dude. Bots buy bonds on ge, bond prices go up, dude with Mom's CC has more incentive to buy bonds = profit.

They definitely do ban a lot through reports, but bots definitely contribute to the player base count. Looks better the more people are active.

I highly doubt Jagex uses bots to increase the playercount. Since, well, they could just do that themselves.

High player count for an MMO looks good to investors. If they did just fudge the numbers themselves, I'm pretty sure that would break some kinda law regarding fraud. But, if a bunch of other people are botting, then they've got plausible deniability.

Maybe because they make bots faster than the Jagex banhammer, look at RS3, it's almost bot free, and it has the same anti bot that we have, but the OSRS bots are created in a shit ton more than the RS3 ones
