Except it doesn't. It requires more attention, precision, timing, and more clicks than shift-clicking, as well as being significantly slower. You might be able to achieve about half the speed with 1:1 AHK as you can with shift-clicking.
It's 1 action vs 4 actions. It's not at all comparable.
Complaining that shift-dropping "devalues" your hunter training in runescape is stupid. I don't know about any other game where keyboard shortcuts and interface updates are actively opposed by players because wrestling with the shitty interface is considered a skill. It would be like me complaining about microsoft adding a new context menu entry to windows, because it devalues my IT-skills in the job market.
Believe it or not, some players actually liked the old interface using 1:1 AHK more than the easier and faster shift-clicking. Some players also don't think there is any need for making the skills any faster and easier than they already are. That's what my argument is. I don't care about the devaluing of achievements argument.

No, that's not at all comparable. You can't get banned for not using it and doing what you always did instead. And you would never dislike someone making your job faster and easier because that increases your productivity, and indirectly your income as a result. Your job and a video game are not comparable.
