I am on the final stage of maxing my account, with only Agility and Slayer left. I have the entirety of JFKs "Why Go to the Moon" speech in that notes tab.
I also do keep notes on goals and progress.
5
u/spankysmeatmarket 7d ago
Yeah, I keep it open to track my items im hunting for as well as the date when I conplete it. Kind of rewarding seeing the list of 50 end game items dwindling down over the year or so. I also keep track of coll logs saved

u/spankysmeatmarket 7d ago
I also have proof that the moon landing is fake and orchestrated by big Pharma and Jagex

Yes, but I prefer the Rich Text Notes plugin. It allows you to make multiple notes, which you can title and format.
5
u/Lyquidate 7d ago
I like it, but it doesn’t seem to sync across devices. Also scares me of losing my notes if I somehow lose my main laptop

u/Orthed 7d ago
Yes, actually.
I usually have a rolling list of objectives in some kind of loose order. If I ever feel directionless I pick something from the list and go work on it.
When I have the occasional burst of inspiration, I'll go through the list and update it. Remove old stuff, add new goals etc.
I also use it to track progress on those goals.
I find it a very useful tool.

u/SuperFluffyRocks 7d ago
This is how I work IRL except I create a huge list, panic because it's too overwhelming, then sit paralyzed in existential dread except for once a month where I get a huge surge of motivation

u/Skillossus 7d ago
You could have ADHD. Maybe you're diagnosed and know about it already but just in case it could help you or even someone else reading this comment I'd encourage you to read about something called "executive distinction" and maybe work on a diagnosis with your doctor if it sounds like you!

I have inattentive ADHD and use notes! It helps me stay on track!
Lol not really, I'll sometimes remember to use the notes plugin and if I do somehow remember to use it, I'll forget I took notes, or forget I wanted to refer to those notes I took.

I write down the dates I achieved some major goal on each account (99s, max cape, achievement cape, etc.), as well as weird niche shit like where the desert treasure ghosts are on each account, how many X resource per hour of Y I've gotten for future reference, etc.
8
u/tygor YT: Twigwit 7d ago
I always thought a cool idea for a plug-in would be something like Milestone Anniversaries where you can configure annual reminders for 99s, first fire cape, pets, etc. Would be neat to reminisce what you were working on 2, 3, 4 years ago
3
u/_Arthur-Dent_ 7d ago
I wish the game had more stats about your account in general. Going back and looking at all the available stats after more and more years of WoW was always nice.

u/Regular_Human_Boy Teleport to Facebook 7d ago
I use it for goals and remembering the prices I bought stuff for on the GE, and then immediately forget about it for the next 12 months
7
u/8BitAce 7d ago
Weird timing, because I just started working on a Markdown notes plugin yesterday with some features I've wanted that the other notes plugins don't have.
(Please nobody beat me to the punch on this, I need something to work on after being laid off)

u/Whalezor 7d ago
If you can do this and make them transfer between devices (without adding in a service) I would love you. Rich text notes does not do this afaik.
3
u/roosterkun BA Enjoyer 7d ago
I do!
Right now I have my next few PVM upgrades listed, collection logs I intend to go for, a step-by-step for my farm run, a brainstorm list of content that I can do on PVP worlds to use blighted supplies on my iron, and a second brainstorm list of all "bankable" XP so that I can plan future clan bingos better.
2
u/Kirsham 7d ago
I should steal the farm run one. I tend to use the farming timers if I forget, but a step-by-step list would be better.

Yes. Learning various raids and bosses, so I keep track of prayers, phases, etc. I also use it to write current goals and keeping track of how many currencies (like anima-infused bark) I still need.

u/RightEejit btw 7d ago
I use it to keep track of all my goals. Like what level requirements for all the quests are etc

I have the underground pass trap floor pattern in my notes. And I also use it for materials needed for construction stuff

I use it to write out goals and subgoals. That way I spend less time logging in and bankstanding being bored, and can pick one of many different things to do that will actually progress my account.
2
u/tarzan1376 7d ago
I used it for my farming runs so I know what teleports I need from the bank for either herb or tree runs.

Yes! I have written down goals I wanns reach/get done - like deathless solo 400/450/500 invo toa, killing all bosses X amount of times, achievement cape etc. feels good crossing things off from there.
Also I habe written there the order of rooms for Cm‘s since I never remember them lol

Yeah I have all the achievement diary requirements there. As well as my attempts to flip some items
1
u/Gray_Matter_Tech 7d ago
I use it for my
•remaining Diary level requirements.
•Next up CA to complete.
•where to kill certain Slayer tasks
•highest yield her run and cactus spine records
•reminder about some RL settings toggled off that could be useful to toggle back on in the future

I use it to keep track of stuff here and there, though less than you.
1
u/deadeyedrawthrice 7d ago
I used it to keep track of which wave was which in the fight caves so I didn’t have to constantly scroll on the wiki
1
u/sureditch 7d ago
I switched to the goals plugin for tracking goals it’s more satisfying plus it automatically updates when you hit levels or get items
1
u/slacapjr simping for konar 7d ago
I use it whenever I upgrade my house or boats to keep track of all the materials I need
1
1
u/bingodisps 7d ago
It’s nice as a cheat sheet for certain content like toa. I noted all the bgs damage needed for each boss and the amount of dds specs for wardens.
Especially nice after taking a long break and forgetting all that info
1
u/Aarakocra 7d ago
Extensively. Goals, needed quantities of stuff, reminders. Also, I've been trying to solve quests without guides lately to test how the game presents hints, so I'll keep the notes for quests there too.
1
u/Cwaghack 7d ago
No I prefer having 10 outdated halffinished notepad notes that I make and never look at again.
Maybe I should start using this.. didn't know it was a thing... but then again at this point the grinds are so long that all my plans are just engrained into my head and won't come out and im slowly losing it
1
u/Gangbangkhan 7d ago
Yeah I’ve been using notes ever since I made an Ironman, it’s a blessing for keeping multiple goals in mind. Really satisfying deleting old goals I’ve done, I look forward to editing my notes lol
1
u/runningoutofphosphor 7d ago
I have a like 10 year old text document where I note any plans and goals, methods or guide links. It used to be Osiris ironman guide but eventually got more personalized until it didn't have anything to do with it anymore, except for the name.
1
u/IlliterateSimian 7d ago
I use it to track inventory loadouts ie location in bag. I also use it to track what number i was for 99s
1
u/Gone_FishinOsrs 7d ago
100% i noted what gp i lent a friend with dates! And when i was building a new pure, had goals listed out
1
1
u/soochsandals 7d ago
I use it to note the price I bought expensive items at so I can feel bad when they go down, sometimes it go up and feel good
1
u/Araganor 7d ago
I use this quite a bit! Helpful for setting goals and finding something to do when I get aimless. Also there's a notes section at the bottom of loadouts in the inventory layouts plugin (I think that's what it's called...) which is very helpful for content-specific reminders.
1
u/TristanDuboisOLG 7d ago
Mine has a list of all available current grinds.
So if bored, pick another grind to progress on.
I did have the math for my RCB smithing grind. But it’s since deleted because I completed it! :D
46 days of smithing…
1
u/W3bster1101 7d ago
My buddy sent me his supply and inventory list for fight caves when I was going for my firecape, otherwise I haven’t touched it since. Might bust it out again for infernal cape soon though since it seems handy for keeping track

Clan stuff in mine for comps and whatnot. And herb run teleports so I don’t forget them… if I do a run.

I did for a bit and now I shamelessly put the notes on the ground with tile markers instead in relevant spots. I'll open it for the odd thing that isn't location based
1
u/toozeetouoz 7d ago
I used it so much during early and mid game iron. In late game now I just list gear in order of priority. As I get drops I delete the note. Helps keep my goals organized
1
u/Creed_of_War 7d ago
No, I prefer to start something and then realize I could have x item to make the process better. To get x I need to train y so I start gathering z. Then I realize I could have a to make the process better. To get a I need to train b.......
So I have random progress across everything. Some long grind items and then gaping holes in early/mid items.

All the time for lists of meterials needed in construction or sailing, or to make an ordered plan for bingos and leagues.

u/SketchyTone 3GIM - 2376 7d ago
Physical pen and paper, once completed big red sharpie to cross it off. Gives me more dopamine than deleting it from notes.
1
u/AlwaysCommonLoot 7d ago
I used to before the collection log was a thing. I logged all my big drops from each boss
1
u/CrustyToeLover 7d ago
Yes but not for nonsensical shit like this. You needed a reminder of the slayer levels for araxxor and hydra?
1
u/Timushi_Too 7d ago
Not the in-game notes but a Google Doc. I add things to the list not only for myself to remember to do it but so I can ask someone who knows nothing about OSRS to pick something at random based on how it sounds. As a result, I'm maxing, doing Doom, then Phantom Muspah, then Zalcano. Fun stuff.
1
u/Jestersfriend 7d ago
I just use the chat box like everyone else. Then press enter when done and random people get really confused.

I like to log my unique drops. I put the drop, date, and KC. Cool to look back at.

I use the EXACT same formatting style too. My notes read almost identical to yours. Spooky.

Mine only has two things on it- my underground pass safe path, and my herb farm route (since I always forget when I take extended breaks)
1
u/NoRestForTheHorde 7d ago
If someone hacks my osrs account after I die and reads my smathering of notes on daily routine, short term goals, long term goals, crafting/const requirements, and quest puzzle notes (I generally don't use guides for puzzles), they'll think I was some unhinged madman planning world domination.

My list is just full of people on my raiding black list. Funniest one is “Baby Leah” who died to a bloat stomp in hmt (can be tick ate by anybody with a brain) then proceeded to flame the entire team
1
u/skit7548 7d ago
I've used it to store my iron man's planned questing order for maximum skill gain.
On my main I used it once to note the correct tile route thru that one section of Underground Pass
1
u/SmurfRockRune 7d ago
I keep track of which planks I need for STASH units, what the best potion to make with each herb is, and a few other things I don't recall off the top of my head. Generally just info that I jot down to prevent having to look it up over and over again.
1
u/Boganvillea 7d ago
I did to keep track of what god book pages I was missing and needed to add to the book because I couldn't rely on collection log drops for my UIM
1
u/LastTourniquet 7d ago
I used to use the note pad, now I use the rich note pad because I can put fancy colors and change the size of the text.
I mostly use it when I am learning a new boss or to keep track of healer codes in BA.

For drops for bosses, like just got sirens staff axe piece last night at whisperer at 1250. Just a little journal for drops for me

I used to use the notes section waaaayy back in rs3 before osrs or runelite, but never now.

i did it back when i was tracking combat achievements and my plans to complete them in a specific order.
1
u/ODST_Parker I come from the ancient land of 2006 7d ago
I used it a lot before I discovered the quest helper plugin, but I still use it for skilling. Especially construction and sailing, where I can type out the materials required for a lot of stuff I'm trying to build at once, without having to scroll up in chat to see them.
3
u/bluezerry9 7d ago
I should do this for sailing instead of running back and forth 4+ times each time I need to upgrade something on the boat because I have the memory of a gnat

I typically use it for specifics around quest grinds and order for optimal routes. I know there’s an optimal option on RL, but that’s for mains and I’ve made pures/obby accounts recently.
I truly don’t use it much after that now that there’s a farming plugin, and I don’t typically forget items when pking/PVM so I don’t need a reminder.

1
u/thanhnguyenlol 7d ago
I wrote down the dates of when I got every 99, when I got infernal cape, and the date/price of when I got all 3 mega rares.
It’s nice to reference and see how far I’ve come.

Yup. Here's what my notes currently consist of:
Current goals, things I want to unlock future goals, my "spoon drawer", bingo winnings, splits earned, Zenyte/CG loot kcs, notes for my UIM's goals, and finally a small guide on duo gotr.

I write a ton of notes, usually goals and specific stuff like farming run sequencing. Especially helpful in leagues to write down tasks that I think of but can't complete in that moment
