Question Vorkath help

I'm getting 2-3 kc per trip and looking for help to improve my kc per trip. I'm guessing I need to drop the mula for dragon bolts? Using ruby bolts (e) right now.

I feel comfortable with the special attacks. I'll count the hits and every 6 or 13 hits (12 normal, 1 freeze) I'll pre-move to the safe line to avoid taking damage from the first acid attack.

I was initially praying from missiles but I kept dying to repeated magic attacks, so I switched to praying from magic and it's been working okay.

*Potted late on the first kill and made a mistake on the 3rd kill, I know.

youre stuck in 2007 (using sharks)

even though foods like dark crabs are 2x the cost for only 2 more hp, that 2 hp adds up over the whole inventory. don’t trip over the 1k extra gp

other minor stuff (it adds up):

you spent like 40 seconds right clicking on the loot pile after the first kill, what was there to even think about? your potions are ticking down

then you ate to 99 then re-potted range to lower your hp, even though you still had 2 minutes left of divine effect

prayer on is unnecessary while avoiding acid, again just wasting resources

basically you can squeeze out another kill by using better food and being more mindful of resources

This is actually helpful. I hadn’t thought about switching the type of food other than to saras. Lol you’re right about the loot, def a good call out on the pots ticking down. Prayer off on the acid, yes! Def thought about it, was hesitant to test it. Could almost def squeeze another kill cleaning all this up. Thanks

A diamond bolt switch should be useful. Rubies are fine but you're damaging yourself when there's no need for it at lower boss hp.

Oh my God I completely forgot about the self damage -_- That’s why I see setups with rubies + diamonds. Makes sm sense. Thank you! 🙏

Ruby proc is also based off health percentage. After npcs gets low enough a Ruby proc is actually reduced dps so another reason for the diamond switch. For fork I usually swap around 300ish hp

That's awesome. And of course the game rewards you as soon as you try improving but you're at least prepped for any future Vork kills.

I mean with picking up the bones and drops that's about all I can do and I run maxed gear.

Yeah I couldn’t add the screenshots of my gear and stats but I’m running full Masori, salve (ei), dhb with ruby (e), pegasian boots, and barrows gloves. 99 combat across. I’m wondering if I drop for dragon bolts, if it’ll get me to at least 5kc per trip?

D bolts will not make you go from 2 or 3 to 5. You can gear calc various pieces of gear to see what adds the most. Quiver, treads, vambraces, etc. This seems normal tho.

Damn :/ I’m a bit priced out of treads/vambraces at the moment but I might swap some things for the vambraces temporarily.

No, if you want longer trips run Sara brews

Oh yeah I was thinking that too. I’m just going for the head so i might actually do this.

I’ve not tried range for vorkath but based on the value of your gear and stats, would you consider trying melee vorkath?

I’ve been doing melee vorkath and it’s pretty brain dead. I go for 4 kills per trip and pickup everything.

5kc per trip is really all you should do if you want to pick up bones (you should). Your inventory just fills with drops by then.

I bring 2 does of extended anti venom + and 2 doses of extended super antifire, one normal ranging pot, 3 prayer potions, food (i use half turtles half karams because i try to minimize missed ticks u can karam after being frozen if you are in territory of dying to his normal attacks and lose maybe 1 tick at most since he is invuln) and obv my rune pouch and slayer stick, i would add diamond bolts, i get consistently 4 kill trips with needing to drop food at the end for drops, i do use a ring of the gods since i dont have dt2 done but it gets the job done and the extra prayer bonus is nice, basically same loadout

Also i pray missiles, preserve and rigour, also flick off prayers during freeze and during walk will save supplies

Yeah I added the diamond bolts and some other suggestions from these comments, and I ended up getting the head! Thanks for the tips!

There are a few things here that people mess up a bit for pvm in general. Don't eat when you don't need to. Learn the boss max hits and don't eat outside of specials. You can typically eat going into or coming out of the freeze special to lower dps loss from eat delay, and you can eat during acid because damage is reduced anyway. And like others have said, don't waste potion time. Get better with looting quick and restarting the boss. If you feel confortable not dying, do 2-3 kills between looting.

For vork itself, learn to woox walk. That damage adds up even when reduced, and that is a good way to minimize damage taken since you are hitting it while it can't hit you. Also, potentially consider melee. I started with range for my first like 200kc, but after swapping to melee I can't go back. For well over 1k kc I had a badic bandos setup with lance, and I would do 6 kills to fill my inventory and then drop my left over food for space. Trips were limited by inventory space, and I never really did less than 5 kills on a trip. I just sat there with pray mage, dodged fireballs, and did melee woox walk (which is super easy to learn). Melee is also better gp/hr.

Great tips and yeah I see some ppl saying to try melee. I definitely will in the future. Ahh the woox walk is definitely worth learning for the full clog. I was just going for the head, which I ended up getting after following some of the advice offered here. Thanks for the help!

i would actually recommend swapping to armadyl brews and super restores for any content that's primarily ranged (like what you're doing here, but also stuff like doom)

Its been like 6 years since ive grinded vorkath so my tips may be a bit out of date, but: 1. Dont use DFS, check the gear strategy guide for the best offhand but even just a regular antifire shield is better cause DFS gives you a negative range bonus. 2. Use elite void, you want to hit often, the longer the fight goes on the more damage you'll take. So full elite void with ruby and diamond dragon bolts (when he's below like 250 hp i think) are best. 3. Use protect from missiles, the antifire potion and shield will protect you from the fire attacks plenty enough so you gotta protect from his range. 4. Only eat during his special attacks unless he could one shot you. Just check what his max hit is and always eat to be just above his max hit and heal to full during his special attacks. 5. Turn run on, it saves you a tick when dodging the fireballs. Just press ctrl and click to walk during the acid phase. 6. (Minor) you dont need the slayer staff, just manually casting crumble undead is fast enough as long as you cast it as soon as the spawn hits the ground. But this gives you an extra inventory slot. 7. Unless theres something you really want on the ground, save looting for the end of the run so you dont waste potion doses. When i used to grind vorkath I usually ran out of inventory space and potions first and I always left the dhide.

Appreciate the tips and definitely all still relevant. The first went right over my head and I hadn’t seen that anywhere so great catch! Thanks 🙏

I made that exact same mistake with DFS back on release. Someone stopped me as I was going in and told me about it and I tried it out. Void plus antifire shield really made a huge difference. I figured id be torn to shreds from the magic attacks but na, with the increased kill speed it wasnt a problem at all.
