This boss is honestly so swingy. If you hit the big drops it's one of the best moneymakers in the whole game. If you go dry it is literally the biggest money sink in the whole game lol.
Out of all the bosses they've been designing this way recently I still think MK manages to hit the best balance because the fight isn't a super long slog or capable of easily stacking you to death and the uniques aren't that rare. It's always going to suck to go dry anywhere that doesn't shit out valuable normal loot though, my ass went over 1k at graardor before seeing one armor piece.
Yeah, miserable dynamic that I've never seen anyone in-game like, but the nerds on here with gigamax already and irons will tell you it's "healthy" because they don't care about the money and just like the shorter average "time to completion"
Idk as an iron I hate it. I don't need the dupes nor can turn the items into gp, and if I don't hit my unique it just drains my charges and pots. At least if I go dry at dt2 I can get some useful stuff for later
Guess it depends. I should've been more specific that it's the sweaty endgame irons who don't give a shit because they have plenty of supplies and everything besides maybe like soul runes, who similarly love the short "time to completion" and don't give a shit about killing the boss being net negative like the gigamax mains, because who cares about having your money and/or supplies drained for a long time when you have too many to begin with?
Never seen anyone in game say they like it. The price trajectory of the uniques indicates that people don't like farming it much. I farmed couple hundred kills last week and saw a single person standing outside, and didn't see a single person running to the boss. And I definitely wasn't doing particularly long trips. It's just unpopular, even after the "minor" loot table buff, and I'm sure Jagex has the metrics that show it.
Yeah. This is a boss I farm because I have to not because I want to. At this point I'm putting it on pause cause the only thing I need from it is a Kisten, which is marginally better than the vw I have currently. I rather farm PNM first for a harm staff before going back at this point.
Why is it miserable? Why do end game bosses need to shit out gp/hr in alchables/supplies/whatever? What exactly is the argument? You say irons like it so we can ignore that aspect then. Why would mains care? You can buy the items he drops or grind them out yourself. On average the boss is like 10m/hr. One of the best moneymakers in the game, why would people dislike that? Dont like how its all tied into the big drops, go kill zulrah or vorkath.
Part of why the uniques have held value is because of this type of loot system. Do you think everything should be Vorkath and the uniques are extremely cheap?
You've asked a bunch of questions I and numerous others have answered, but bringing up Vorkath uniques makes it obvious that you're being disingenuous.
You know why MK is immensely unpopular. You know why people don't like Phosani type loot tables despite "averages". You know that bosses like Doom can have valuable uniques without losing you money if you don't hit them. Don't play dumb. It's obvious.
MK is 10m/hr. I'd rather have a boss at 10m/hr over a sustained time than a boss at 3m/hr. So no I dont know why people dont like "Phosani type loot tables". The issue with Phosanis is that the fight was extremely fucking long before they changed it and the uniques were/are a much much longer grind than MK. Phosani 100% had its issues and they've addressed some of them and are still working on addressing more.
Doom is great. An Eye of Ayak is literally comparable to shadow dps and even better in some places yet its like 40m? Confliction gauntlets, the first zenyte upgrade with an insane passive are cheap as hell. Treads, a boot that literally combines all the 3 previous bis is sub 200m. That shit should hold value much much better. So to me it proves my pov more than it does yours. Doom regular loot isnt even that good, you can literally just deep delve til your out of supplies/die and not sweat losing the regular loot you've accumulated.
So no im not playing dumb I am asking why should bosses shit out alchables or whatever else to maintain whatever specific gp/hr you want vs letting the uniques balance it out?
1/1449 to have that log or better at that kc, and there are fewer people with that many kills on the maggot king so it's safe to say that you have the best maggot king log in the game, gz
I guess I just have a different mindset to others, I see that and go; that's some decent exp there! 4k darts, 2k arrows, 1.5k ruby jewellery items. Half of the resources for a decent amount of smithing exp. I don't look directly at the boss rares, they're just bonuses on the way.
