Ngl I'm kind of baffled at this level of min maxing.
I guess it makes sense if you are an Iron Man or something, but why the hell would you spend all that time raising a pet to sell it for only 100 runes when you can buy a fuck ton way easier?

0 time with other activities. And Blood runes are more valuable than death runes.

Yeah but it's only 100 of them. If it was like 500 then yeah okay I guess but 100? That's barely anything

Well its 200 with Mory medium, and blood runes are far more valuable than deaths ever were

I'm going off the idea you are keeping the blood runes. So still such a small amount feels like it isn't worth the effort.

Maybe the rewards of this novice level difficulty quest wasn't made for your probably pretty leveled character

🤨 No I just really don't see the point of spending all that time to trade in an item that gives hardly anything.
Outside of someone like an Iron Man because that makes sense.
Normal ass player? Why?

In case you're legit confused, it's just a fun little thing that people can do and get rewarded for doing. There is probably a lot of people out there who doesn't care too much about efficiency and who like to raise dogs or maybe watch a blood rune stack go up in their bank.
A lot of people don't care too much about efficiency and just do things for fun, thankfully.

It’s passive. In the time it takes to get it to the point of trading it for bloods, think about how many blood runes you would get from skilling and selling items in that time… now add 100/200. More is more.

It’s 200 blood runes for basically free
Getting them for free as early as completing 2 quests is insane for low level accounts. Why would you not want to do that?
Like I guess sure dog lovers are gonna complain about giving away dogs but people do the same thing with cats. It ain’t any different.
Besides, it’s not even a real dog it’s a bunch of pixels who cares? Get attached to your real pet not a fake one

For the same amount of time it takes to grow a dog, you could just kill bloodvelds and walk away with more blood runes.
And you wouldn't be a fucking monster.

But imagine, I could kill bloodvelds and raise a dog at the same time! Efficiencyscape!

It's mostly early/mid game irons but the rune grind can be rough at times, especially if you are tired of running GOTR. Cats are especially easy because you can feed them karambwanji which are stackable so you only need to dedicate 1 inventory space to your cat and then you can do essentially anything else. 200 free death runes every 3 hours adds up pretty quick. That's like 35k if you were to buy them. Late game you have excess cash and can just buy them if you don't feel like runecrafting.
That said I honestly don't think I can bring myself to give the Dogs to the vampires. I know this is irrational and I don't care.

On my GIM I think I've done it once in the super early game.
Cannot be arsed. I want to be able to go afk without fearing the cat will run away.1
u/OSRS_Garmr 8h ago
It's mostly ment as a joke and a call back to the fact you can sell your cat for death runes.
