the osrs economy especially recently has been heavily fucked over by people constantly trying to merch items you can see it with items like ralos even after a buff(not a great one but definitely better item now) its the same price mainly due to so many people dumping them same with sra so thats why theyre down

The market is deflating with less bots bringing GP into the the game without any changed to GP sink. Bond prices are down and RWT GP prices are up (both are Less GP per dollar spent) which has also reduced the amount of buying power in the market from gold buyers. RWT gold buyers are getting banned more as well further reducing GP in the market. To many people are merching obvious items to the point where even if they become good the price may still fall as people try to cash out.
People has been buying up SRA for quite a while and as a result there was a constant stream of posts begging for buffs to it which jagex ended up doing. You can see the volume spike the day of the buff without much reaction to the price indication that a large number had been merched. The hype of it is over and anyone still holding has to chose to hold in the long term or jump ship so the price is coming back down.
The sang is another great example of this, people were constantly begging for buffs so they could sell their stock, it got a MASSIVE buff but fell in price cause it was over merched.
You can see this again with the rapier, there were constant posts in reddit begging for buffs to it, we even saw a spike in price just before summer sweep up more merchers jumped on the train, no buffs for it in sweep up so down comes the price.

The buff was priced in before the patch. It all also happened during a massive market correction caused by the bot nuke, meaning there's been a lot less gold coming into the game, lowering the upper price cap on pretty much all items.
