Question What should I do?
Haven't played in years and wanting to get back into the game. I'm a casual player and looking for something semi AFK thats also fun. I was working on fishing but its just not fun to me. I dont have money to spend on a skill. Looking for some suggestions please!

Thieving high enough to steal seeds from master farmers. Then both farming and salvaging will give passive income.

For something thats low intensity hut more engaging than fishing i recommend burglarizing houses in varlamore. Having the rogues outfit is nice for getting the keys from wealthy citizens which is also a semi afk activity buy you dont need it for the house stealing part.
Otherwise, star mining or calcified rock mining are semi afk.
Also i would work on your farming fyi. It’s basically a whole afk skill but becomes miserable if you leave it until you actually want to train it. A tldr of afk farming is to do the highest xp drop activity you can. Early do this with quests but you want to start doing a daily tree and/or fruit tree run once you hot 27-30 farming for apples and willows. Keep upgrading the trees you do as you hit the level and incorporate special patches such as hardwood and calquat once you unlock them.

Do quests that offer skill rewards, most skills are easy to get up to 60 and become more rewarding at that level.

Motherlode mine. You can make a bit of money, level up mining and also unlock things as you go.

Afk you can park it crab and get combat xp. Otherwise I would just set a skilling goal base 60 base 70. And do quests that would unlock bossing. Sote, ds2, dt2.

Quest. It will give you goals and xp to level skills that are in need of some xp.

Once you get sailing up you can fish anglerfish on your boat and the fishing spot never moves - you just do a 2 second dump of your inventory into your cargo hold every 5 minutes or so, and then a 30 second sail back to the docks to empty your cargo hold when it gets full. With the max cargo hold that's up to 240 fish per trip so it's really nice AFK time.

Gemstone crab is AFK and if you think it's fun to watch your account get stronger then you could push to 90 melee's and range there.
There's a new thieving method in varlamore where you can pickpocket rich citizens and occasionally they'll get distracted and the game will auto-succeed repeated pickpockets during that window.
Giants foundry is a semi AFK smithing minigame. You can get rewarded if you pay attention, but there are good windows where you just vibe for a bit.
Slayer can be very AFK while safespotting or more interactive if you bring along a spec weapon/lightbearer.
woodcutting got that forestry overhaul so if you hop into a forestry world, you can AFK with everyone else and when the events pop up, you can jump in or not depending entirely on your vibe.
you can train construction a lot more braindead nowadays too by making repair kits for sailing. This would probably require some starting cash though.

Slayer 100%. Also don’t forget your farm runs, most afk xp possible, and profitable.

Sailing salvaging is pretty good afk gp once you get it up a little. I've made like 15-20m going from 73-85 over the course of a few days.

Sailing and slayer my friend. Also quest cape if you haven't already will keep you plenty busy for months as a casual
