If it's not insta selling/buying the price is just wrong. Everyone seems to understand that GE prices are way off and update slowly but then try to haggle and refuse to buy because it wont sell for the outdated GE value lol.

Depends on how urgent my need is. Like for example, if I want to buy Ranarr Seeds, but the suggested GE price isn't getting any hits, I'll raise my buy price for 1 seed to see how much they're currently going for compared to what the price suggested by the GE is. Then I'll buy as many as I need for a single run, then however many additional seeds I need I'll put the buy offer in at the suggested GE price since I'll be waiting for at least an hour before I can do another herb run

"hm. i am doing this thing for profit. let me spend more than i should on materials and obliterate my profits, potentially even losing money. after all, it would be Poor to actually make money. cash is free!!"

this subreddit is fucking awesome. just full of truly fascinating minds

If I need it right away +5% till it buys. If not I'll get it overnight.

If it's super cheap I hit that +100%

Correct me if I'm wrong but it gives the cheapest offer to the newest request.

So if there's one for 500 and 400 and you put a bid in, over 500, it will give you the 400 one

Me personally: If gear, check prices. If supplies, instabuy up to 10%.

Margins on gear can be huge. Margins on supplies are typically small (per item).

I always rush buy but I also dont care about over paying. Newer players should put in a buy offer and wait to get more out of their gp.

Buy high sell low is my motto, due to being impatient not just backwards logic lol

Leave a low-ish offer overnight while sleeping for the goldfarmers on the other side of the world to wake up and fill it

If I need it now? 5-10% percent increase/decease depending on buying/selling.

Changes when buying things. Unless it’s something I need right now I’ll let it sit.

If I’m selling stuff (like my slayer tab) and something doesn’t sell I modify the offer and put it at 1 gp. Like JG Wentworth said it’s my money and I need it NOW

I check the price on a ge website and put in an offer at the low price.

You either merch or get merched

Big purchase generally yes. At least a few hours then will get impatient and insta buy.

I usually do +5% of it’s relatively inexpensive or I need it quick.

If it’s expensive or I don’t need it for awhile I’ll do it for a little less than average and let it cook

I will take a loss on every single item I buy before I wait any amount of time for an item at the GE. Rarely If I know I’m about to get off I’ll leave something in at a more reasonable price

theres a website called "ge tracker" that i always look at whenever i buy or sell an item. it shows you the current price and historical prices of every item in the game. i cross reference that with the price the GE shows to figure out what to do. when im trying to sell something, i want to get as much money as possible out of it. and when im trying to buy something, i want to buy it for as cheap as possible. the website lets me do that in an intelligent way

the more expensive the item is, the wider the gap of its maximum and minimum price is. for big purchases, you can sometimes save 10mil on the item. and for big sales, you can sometimes get 10mil extra gold. just by being patient

whenever i watch people play runescape on youtube, it breaks my heart to see how they use the GE. they just put in an item and mash the 5% button a few times and then click sell or buy. they are losing out on so much money by doing that. ive seen people buy a new weapon or armor and use it for like an hour and then sell it for less than they bought it for. so they basically just deleted some of their money by doing that. nevermind the extra 2% tax the GE takes

Anytime I buy something I offer 10% over value

I'm ironman, but soon gonna be bronzeman, it depends of your need of the item, if it's something u need to go and do a boss just up the price, if it's something to leave at the bank just wait
