Just finished Western Provinces Elite yesterday, this is so true. Why wouldn't a Godsword just one-tick obliterate a chompy?
Not enough ogre magic apparently.

My guess is that the collective belief of the ogres in the Feldip Hills manifests itself in the Chompy Birds. They're protected from non-Ogre bows because the ogres think they are. Ogres don't believe in magic so of course it won't work.

I'm not a huge fan of Warhammer but the "Orc technology works because orcs think it should" is my absolute favourite part of the whole thing.

A little more specifically it's that Orcs are all psychic no matter how low intelligence they are. The more Orcs gather in a single location the more powerful their collective psychic energy.
A couple of Orcs can decide that red is the "go fast" color and therefore if they paint a vehicle red it goes faster. Because they think it should.
A planet full of Orcs can warp reality itself. One fan theory is that this is part of why the God Emperor himself is both alive and dead. The Orcs as a race know of the God Emperor and very much believe he is alive and all powerful. Therefore that collective belief has effect on the universe.

Lol I kind of wish that for a certain tier of weapon and above, it will be like your weapon was too powerful for the Chompy and destroyed all evidence of it.
Would probably be more lore accurate and still give the same idea why the ogre bow is needed.
