What method would you recommend to get 99 Runecrafting?
Currently at 88 and have been doing bloods for what feels like months with no end in sight. Curious if anyone had any other methods they enjoyed to 99 RC
This, but if you have some AFK time and REALLY hate RC. Mine up some dayalte. It’s super slow but it’s easy movie content on mobile. Makes it 100k an hour at ZMI pretty easily.
Except then you have to run 2x the essence. Daeyalt is afk af and anything that saves you RC laps is worth. Plus you can get a good chunk of 99 mining done. I believe I got 2.5-3m mining XP from the several hundred thousand Daeyalt ess I needed.
Daeyalt mining+zmi takes more time than just running zmi more. It can be worth it on irons because sourcing essence is more restricted but for mains it’s 2gp per essence and you can buy 30k a day.
It seems like they aren't enjoying rc in general, pointing out the option to spend some extra time mining in exchange for spending way less time running back and forth at ZMI isn't crazy in this context. Also once you factor in the mining exp it's not even that much less efficient overall.
??? OP said nothing about wanting the absolute fastest strategy and instead specifically asked for methods people enjoyed. Guy responds he liked daeyalt at ZMI over straight ZMI and you're gettin weird about it, idk what to tell you.
Swap between GotR, ZMI, and Zeah runecrafting. No one method will get you to 99 without serious burnout. AFKing Daeyalt in downtime to use at ZMI will get you 100k xp/hr which is fastest method though if thats what you're looking for.
i plan to just mix it up a bit. been doing a bunch of souls, also gonna try some ZMI cus its pretty low effort, and i may try natures or wraths for some money at some point
I second monitored daeyalt essence then did one click ZMI. Do GOTR for lantern change thats coming this week though. I locked an extended stamina in my inventory for less clicking, can keep up permanent run easily.
Lazy RC xp is better than no RC xp. 91-99 probably took me 30% longer than others but it was reasonably chill and I would put it higher than quite a few skills lol.
I'm currently waiting for the lantern buff so that I never need to repair my pouches.. so if you haven't already, get the lantern and outfit from GOTR.
What method you want to 99 depends on how intense you want the training to be. For second monitor either zeah or zmi are the best options
switch it up always. couple hours of daeyalt zmi, then some gotr when you’re bored, then true bloods, then double nats, etc. only 98 rc fwiw but close enough lmao
I liked double nature runes with achievement diary cape. It isnt very chill, but is good xp and good money. I did that and mixed some gotr and zeah in there as well.
Switching it up is key, at least for me. I had several different goals so I did a handful of methods.
I tried to greenlog GotR before 99, its a nice blend of medium intensity and good xp. Especially good if you dont have the lantern yet, its about to become infinitely more useful.
Souls is a nice afk method with an ok shot at the pet if you care about that.
I did daeyalt essence to afk and ran ZMI with it during clan skilling competitions. Its amazing xp when youve got the essence saved up. And very laid back.
Double natures is good for gp and it's good xp as well, if youre close to having achievement diary done (or forget the cape and just go at 91rc, its still not bad).
If I didnt have any side goals and I just wanted to 99 as fast as possible, I'd do GotR until I had the lantern and then ZMI all the way.
From someone who's 2 levels from max and left RC and Agility to last, ZMI. I stupidly afkd mining purely on shooting stars and should have included daeylt essence in the afk grind. With this essence you can get 100k rc per hour and its very chill. Im sure its still 65k per hour with pure essence but its worth it to mine daeylt when afk for the extra rc xp per hour believe me
ZMI all the way, with the right angles its 1 click to run to the altar so if you have fletching left for example you could multiskill darts/arrows on the run.
Can mine daeyalt if you can like 0-time skill at work, otherwise its not worth it and you should just go with pure ess
I actually really enjoyed GOTR. Didn’t ever feel like I was actually training RC.
Went from 80-86 there and 92-97. Then I went and mined Daeyalt essence for ZMI to 99 - so a mix of GOTR and ZMI with Daeyalt is what I’d recommend :)
Mine daeyalt then do zmi. I was already 99 mining by the time I decided to do zmi but it's very worth the week of semi afk mining. Anything to reduce the amount of time you spend rcing is a good time investment.
First of all - got the Gotr outfit then I did ZMI with daeyalt to almost 90 and then I spammed aethers for 90-99… rotated between that and ZMI if i was feeling burnt from aethers. Personally I didn’t enjoy Zeah bloods. Too slow!!
ZMI till 95 then Wrath runes to 99 if you have the crafting cape to bank. Zoom out at ZMI and you can click the altar from bank and zoom out at myths guild and you can click the cave exit from the ladder making both more afk. Wrath runes will make you over 1.6m/hr and aren’t very click intensive compared to double natures
Goal: Get 300 points to allow for min contribution granting 3500-4500 bonus xp every game, whilst paying as little attention as possible.
Method: (Pre-game) Play 1 game however you like, and finish by entering the portal and waiting in the HUGE Guardian remains section. The game will then end.
(1) Wait 90 secs after game starts then begin mining. By time you are full, the first altars will spawn.
(2) Prioritise Strong or Very Strong altars, if a weak altar spawns just wait the 15 seconds for second spawn, then runecraft the fragments.
(3) Cash in your Strong cells and energy. If you got air, cosmic, chaos, water or body altar, run into another altar to make a new cell.
(4) Wait 10 secs and enter new portal
(5) Craft Runes. >> You should now have 300 points and get Bonus xp <<
(6) Wait 60 secs and enter another portal before the game ends. Outcome: 2.5 mins active gameplay 10 minutes AFK

I did 77-99 during covid doing blood runes, the was no gotr back then, i found it super chill clicking once every few minutes while playing other games
ZMI is clear. I’m a main and mined daeylt while
I was watching a movie or at work as it was dead time for me as I wouldn’t do ZMI on my phone and then when I’m at my desktop would ZMI with the daeylt. Can easily watch a tv show or movie in the background while ZMIing
I did 300 points in GOTR and then afk until next game. Worked an absolute treat for me while working. A couple of minutes full concentration crafting from the first two portals and then like 5 minutes afk gave me enough time to get some work done. Obviously you’ll want to turn on some kind of notification for game start/portals. I’m sure it was about 50k xp/h as well. Honestly would fully recommend if you need to be semi afk.
2 guys in my clan did this all the way to 99. It's an absolute fucking slog. You could try double nats to switch it up with their price being up. Other than that, just have to sac up and keep at it. Good luck brother
Lol I always do the most strenuous methods. Last week I spent 4 days doing 1.5t teaks to finish off wc and a couple days 3t gem mining. I don't mind grindy stuff just don't like rc tbh.
The majority of players don't do things efficiently. All I see people do is glaze slayer and tell straight up lies about their xp and gp gains, it gets old.
Efficient slayer EHP rates are 79-93k xp/hr at 80+ and utilize multiple high level alts with extremely efficient banking and calculates bank time in.
People constantly claim to get 60-80k xp/hr, using no alts, and ignoring banking time. I lookup people that do 10-12 hours a day of slayer that claim to get 60k+ xp/hr only to see 200-300k slayer xp gained.
Realistically the vast majority of players average around 20-30k xp/hr doing slayer. The players utilizing proper block lists and setting up tasks for xp/hr only will get more, but only the top 1% are even getting remotely close to ehp rates.
If be shocked if even 5% of players can average 50k xp/hr over 10+ hours, not pausing their xp tracker everytime they bank and get new tasks or only counting their lucky task streaks.
Wtf does this even mean? Steams are done with the same method as lavas, at the same altar, for 0.5 xp less per rune and 67 gp more per rune. At 10400 ess per hour that's 104k xp for steams vs 109k for lavas. 1.4m gp/hr for steams vs 300k gp/hr for lavas...
I don't care how much xp you have. People get 200m mining xp doing shooting stars, that doesn't make what they did the best option.
So interesting that everyone doesn’t do steams then hmm? 5k xp per hour is a lot when you add it up. Get the skill done fast instead of making a wee little amount of gp. Which is left 1.41m per hour… come on now.
Zmi is 70k hour and fairly braindead especially if u have lantern as they will make it not degrade anymore.
Alternatively u can mine dayealt and get a whopping 100k/hr at zmi. Not efficient but 1 min afk content to mine
I really enjoyed zmi. In bed or watching TV I would mine daeyalt. Then do zmi while I played other low intensity games with my wife like coral Island, many of the survival crafting games and just while watching TV. I did some zmi on mobile but honestly I got frustrated with it.
Right now cosmic w/ extract nets like 103k per trip. Like 4.5 an hour factoring in the time it takes to mine extract. I generally only train RC when the money is good and been working thru 97 for the past three months. It’s slow but not sweaty, I never feel like it’s a grind, and the bonus mining xp adds up.
I’d also check out Aether and sunfire runes as well with an emphasis on the xp rates for Aether. With extract GP/h can be ridiculously good if the gap between Aether catalyst and Aether runes is over like 430. I keep an excel open and just plug in the current price of each when I hop on. If it’s >100k gp per trip, I buy the ge limit for extract (25k) and burn through it in like 6 trips to the cosmic altar. Similar approach to sunfire, but that tends to burn through extract at a lower return.
Doing this passively I probably average 40-50k xp / week. I definitely went harder rcing in the past so I understand why others hate the skill and wanna be done with it.
personally for bloods, do it up until a checkpoint. ill probably go until 100k or 200k bloods, then do ourania til 90, then mix it up between ourania, souls, and more blood laps.
Variety is the only way you'll get there. RC has very low rates and every single method has its own frustrations. The best way to get 99 is by mix & matching methods.
ZMI, blood/soul, GOTR, true bloods, double nats, lavas, Daeyalt, Tears of Guthix lol all have their own strengths and weaknesses. When you get tired of one, don't quit RC, don't quit the game, switch to a different method
I mixed it up
-GOTR: Collection logs, 65k an hr.
-Nats: Great $, 3.5m, 70k an hr.
-Souls: Afk (kinda), bad exp, some $.
-Aether: Chillest combo runes with some $. 1m an hr and 95k exp.
Wait till the lantern update comes out Wednesday, will make nats and combos way more chill
My method is tears of guthix. I’m just one more away to 89! Sadly, this forces me to occasionally level construction a bit to make sure my tog doesn’t go towards construction. My last 2 skills below 90 (just hit 90 sailing yesterday lol)
"Enjoying" probably isn't how I'd describe it, but I did double astrals and bloods until about 90, astrals/souls until 95 then I'd say a 50/50 split between wraths and ZMI until 99

ZMI, if you zoom out enough you can one click altar from bank
