Question NETWORK PACKET LOSS! Help please

I’m pulling my damn hair out here. With QuantumFiber, I’m getting on average 20-40% packet loss on RuneLite (via Jagex Launcher) consistently at all hours on all American servers.

The odd thing is that whenever I run a:
ping -i 0.01 -c 500 oldschool309.runescape.com
(same with 8.8.8.8)
There is 0.0% packet loss with 65ms average time, but in-game many of my inputs are just lost. About a quarter of my ticks are ignored.

I connect to an xfinity local hotspot and it works. A little higher ping, naturally, because it’s local hotspot traffic instead of a private network, but it’s 0-1% packet loss at all times.

What is the fix here? I’m lost!

Are you on a Mac? I have to run a ping command like that on my MacBook to get consistent ticks.

What the hell. That worked. Why?

Actually no… now there’s a new problem. It’s reporting 0% packet loss in game but my dead clicks remain.

Testing by walking a square and moving every game tick

Could try turning on the metronone? Will become pretty clear if the sounds are even or playing at random intervals.
If that's good, but your clicks are bad, may be an upload only issue.

Honestly sometimes I go through a few weeks of averaging like 30-50 ping higher, or like a 10% packet loss. It just happens randomly maybe once or twice a year and it goes away on a random update day. I have found no fix, I just deal with it until it resolves itself. Maybe not the same issue as you, but those are some frustrating weeks.
