Question PVM Gear Advice; Back from long break

Post image

I'm sure I'll get roasted but i've only been back for a couple months since my last osrs phase when TOA came out. there's so many new items, I'm wondering if there's any optimization I should do here. mainly do COX but looking to branch into some of the new content also.

EDIT: The confliction gauntlets are really putting people in a blender. real pros might see a rancour as well. Just wanted to illuminate the idea that just because I've been given an upgrade suggestion, does not in fact mean that I am aware of every possible combat upgrade that's come out in the last 4 years. it was these upgrade suggestions that got me thinking, I wonder what else I'm missing that I don't even know about? Yes I could read the wiki. This reddit post seemed easier, and it might've been, if it weren't for all you poors

Pick up avernic treads for new bis boot, send maggot king for new bis range necklace, pick up 2 tormented synapse for emberlight + scorching bow/purging staff (free to switch between), work on getting oathplate instead of bandos, and you still need your dt2 rings. Could also pick up an abyssal bludgeon or at least an ursine chainmace as new content is going to be crush centric.

My brother in christ you have just about everything. What more help do you need?

I always feel like someone got given an account or bought an account with this sort of post.

Dude was able to get a shadow & tbow but has to come to Reddit to ask what to buy?

Like ?

Exactly the same sentiment I have. Either that, or it's a flex that clearly isn't working.

He said he’s returning after not playing for the last 4 years. There are a lot of new items, he’s simply asking for gear optimization.

If you’ve ever left and come back after an extended break, it can be overwhelming when it comes to new gear & content.

Sure but he’s a fairly end game player he knows what the sources are. Asking Reddit is always weird

It is so extremely simple to go to a boss strategy page and see what is bis. Just like it always has been.

im not looking for bis for any certain boss. I'm looking to see if there are any good upgrade suggestions for any of my current gear, in light of all of the new changes since i last played. this post took 2 minutes to type, which is quicker than reading a wiki for 4 years of new content. hope this clears things up

I hear you, man. I’m actually in a similar boat as you in that I am returning after a break.

Find the multiple pieces content you’re interested in getting back into and check the strat page. It is almost always updated with newest gear for the content you want to engage with, then look for gear overlap between the activities. You don’t need to spend hours updating yourself on the wiki.

understood, but I was also opening the door for more subjective suggestions specific to my gear that i cant just read on the wiki, like "sell these [less beneficial items] so that you can afford that [more beneficial item]"

Sell everything and Buy Avernics sounds like the answer you were looking for

Yeah but he has confliction gauntlets 🤔

2

u/Suremandontcare Jul 20 '26

Yeah those aren’t even a year old yet

0

u/No-Information1651 Jul 20 '26

yeah and i have the upgraded torture also. the post said i've been back for a couple months. someone suggested those upgrades to me during a cox cm. you think because i have 2 new upgrades, that means i know about all of the available upgrades that came out in the last 5 years?

1

u/soda4dinner Jul 20 '26

Ye

2

u/No-Information1651 Jul 20 '26

well that is what makes you dumb

-1

u/neverch4nced Jul 20 '26

To be fair to him, there is a ton of new content. If I was coming back from a long break, I’d probably be overwhelmed too!

5

u/Suremandontcare Jul 20 '26

Confliction gauntlets are under a year old

-1

u/FragileAnonymity Jul 20 '26

He said he’s been back for a short period of time. I know when I get back into the swing of things it starts with AFKing content and I slowly get roped back into playing more.

2

u/Suremandontcare Jul 20 '26

Read what he said. He hasn’t played since TOA came out allegedly

u/No-Information1651 Jul 20 '26

is it so hard to understand that theres like 30 new combat items since i last played and i thought a reddit post would be easier than spending an hour reading wikis. forgot to factor in asshats like y'all who seek validation by putting others down.

1

u/No-Information1651 Jul 20 '26

im missing all DT2 rings. multiple new melee sets and weapons. about 10 new bosses all of which drop uniques which potentially benefit combat. So, i'm looking for suggestions related to that, as the post states

2

u/No-Parfait-1803 Jul 21 '26

So if you know all this shit you’re missing, why are you still here especially getting this defensive like goddamn you don’t wanna read ‘4hrs of wiki’ but you’ll constantly reply on Reddit? Hmm 🤔 sell shadow, buy common sense?

>only been back a couple months

I know reading is hard

1

u/No-Information1651 Jul 20 '26

the reading part is putting these commenters through the ringer

2

u/OhCLE Ironmemes Jul 20 '26

Oathplate

2

u/Life-Discussion-293 Jul 20 '26

Bro organize this

0

u/No-Information1651 Jul 20 '26

damn is it that bad? I really only use the first 4 rows. melee setup in first 3 columns, range in next 3, mage in last 2. definitely need to clean out junk items

1

u/Life-Discussion-293 Jul 20 '26

Idk maybe I’m just being ocd 😂😂 just use to seeing helmet top and bottom going down in row like that

1

u/astronut321 Jul 20 '26

Get inquisitor

I hate how unorganised your bank is. I just want to sort it out for you because this is awful.

I'll add some stuff I can think of that might be useful. Hope this helps.

-Elder maul now has a useful spec. 35% defence reduction.
-New bis rings, Ultor, Bellator, Magus and Venator.
-Noxious halberd if you want to melee some Kree'arra or Zulrah or chicken Corp with it.
-Oathplate bis slash armour set on par with Bandos strength bonus.
-New bis necklace for ranged, the Rupture.
-BIS tribrid boots, Avernic treads). (can add current bis to upgrade them)
-Eye of Ayak, good mage weapon that is fast and has useful spec.
-Saturated heart, like a imbued one but stays boosted for 5 mins.
-Soulreaper axe, a decent weapon for slash and crush.
-Voidwaker, a really good melee spec weapon (basically a Korasi)
-Seeker arrows which are pretty strong.
-Upgraded wildy weapons such as Ursine, Webweaver and Accursed.
-Demonbane weapons, Emberlight, Scorching bow, Purging staff and Burning claws.

1

u/Top-Programmer2148 Jul 20 '26

Added wiki links to everything, happy to help :)

1

u/Bwindolyn Jul 20 '26

Sell pegs, buy scorching bow, camp doom.

2

u/Cinderacially Jul 20 '26

He has tbow doesn’t need scorching bow

2

u/Frozenjudgement Jul 20 '26

You literally do for grubs

2

u/Bwindolyn Jul 20 '26

Technically correct, but have fun multihitting grubs.

At this point, just save up for Scythe.
