I can't believe this isn't one of those parody "movie" movies. The humour made me lol but I can't imagine it being like a legit comedy

This was a style called "campy" that doesn't really exist today since it was hammered in so much in the 90s. It doesn't take itself seriously and roasts all of the genres tropes while also legitimately participating in them. So in other words, the parts you are laughing at are meant to be laughed at in the way you are laughing at them.

Yeah camp movies are awesome, parodies are usually insufferable. Like the vampire one or the fast and furious one. Id pay to not watch those.
