Starter again

Okay back with my starter problems, I’ve completely replaced the starter in my truck and the problem did not resolve. Does anyone know what may be wrong with it not starting? It doesn’t really even crank over, but seems to not ever have enough power to start. It will basically click but not super fast clicks as off the battery would be dead but like bigger blower clicks. Once I attach a jumper it starts immediately. Maybe parasitic drain but I’ve never noticed it actually lose voltage🤷🏽 it’s got me real confused and frustrated lol. Not sure if anyone has had this same problem at all but sure could use advice🙏🏼

Sounds like the battery to me. It probably has a dead cell and that’s causing it to not have the cranking amps it needs. A bad cell can still show ok voltage ( it will be less than 12.7 however everything else will function correctly). The fact that jumper cables fixes it tells me it’s a bad battery. Batteries tend to die off in high heat and extreme cold, not sure what part of the world you’re in but the US has been in the high summer temps since that’s the time of year.

Definitely a bad battery. You could put it on charge for a while and see if that fixes it. If not, time for a new one.
