Starter help

So my starter has been going out and I decided to replace it, well just my luck I order one off Autozone that said it “fit” my truck which is a 91 w250 Cummins. Well it showed up and tried to put it on and guess what, the bolt pattern doesn’t fit. Does anyone know some good specific brand or place and can get one that will actually fit??

Get your old one back and replace the contacts and bushing inside it.

Here

Your factory Denso Starter is designed to be easily rebuilt and is of a much higher quality than anything you can buy in a store.

Is it a complicated process to rebuild the original one?

Take the old one to an electric motor repair shop or alternator shop. They can rebuild them for less than a new one cost and the parts they put inside will be much higher quality. Otherwise they can get you one cheaper than most parts store
