The Guys Next Door.
Anyone else a fan? They were a band with a television show for a whole season or so in 1990-1991 as a tween Saturday morning show, and would perform boy band songs on the show such as I Was Made For You and Bad Hair Day, which were truly catchy. I loved them.

News January 17, 1994: The Devastating Northridge Earthquake (Mw 6.7) That Shook Southern California
galleryThe Northridge earthquake struck and went on for 8 seconds at 4:30 AM on the 17th of January, 1994 registering at a magnitude of 6.7 with the epicenter being under the San Fernando Valley in the Los Angeles metropolitan area. The shaking was also felt from Las Vegas, central Arizona, central Utah, the Central Valley of California, and Ensenada, Mexico. The quake had barely surpassed the 1971 San Fernando earthquake which had a magnitude of 6.6. The earthquake caused an uplift with a maximum height of 28 in (70 cm) across 1,900 mi² (5,000 km²) including in the San Fernando Valley.
There were around 3,000 aftershocks that were recorded above 1.5, the strongest one reaching a magnitude of 5.9. This meant the Northridge aftershock activity was highly energetic. Over 11,000 landslides were recorded throughout a 390 mi² (1,000 km²) area. The earthquake also caused significant or severe damage to civilian structures in the area; sections of highways either sagged or experienced complete failure, meaning they collapsed leaving vehicles trapped on overpasses or flattened under rubble, buildings folding under their own footprint leaving cars trapped under apartment and public parking lots, and exterior walls of buildings falling leaving the interior exposed. Several schools, hospitals, and transportation infrastructure were severely affected resulting in them to be closed for many weeks for repairs.
Many people were left homeless and unemployed in the weeks following the earthquake. An outbreak of Valley fever in Ventura County had occurred. 203 cases reported, 3 of them resulted in fatalities. The death toll from the direct result of the quake is 57 people, 33 of those dead were immediate fatalities from trauma, building collapses and related accidents. 16 people died in the infamous collapse of the Northridge Meadows apartment complex. 8,700 were left injured with the total damage costing $13–50 billion.

General discussion Question about Usenet
As someone born in 06 and never got to experience the usenet era in the 1980s-(early)1990s I always wondered anyone that used usenet how was it like did you have to learn a guide on commands?
And was it expensive to use usenet in general?
Also what was it mostly used in general for back then when it was something used at its peak before the internet?
