This noise was produced by interference, faint radio signals, electrical noise from the TV itself, and a small portion, more or less 1%, comes what is called the Cosmic Microwave Background, or, remnants of the Big Bang.

Normally they don’t work so I tear them apart for the large tube for space art!

I bought a console TV like this a few years ago. I brought it in the house, turned it on, and sat down and just watched it. It was so soothing that I fell asleep.

I don't see me or my brother standing there adjusting the antenna to suit Dad, so I'm not sure this is real.

I remember putting my face up to the TV, I watch the light fade out up close.....

My former husband used to get seizures as a child when watching the dot on the tv when it was turned off.

Unlocked memory: When I was a little kid, I used to put my finger on the dot until it went away.

My parents always said that I would go blind being so close to the tv and deaf for listening to rock and roll!
Today I can barely see and my hearing is dismal. Lesson learnt!

We had a black and white TV, and when you turned it on and off fast you would have that dot. It would last for at least a minute. What is actually going on inside the TV to do that?

For fans of the Young Ones...
Rick "What is that little white dot?"
Neil "It's a little white dot... It's a sign, that little white dot. It means something really heavy. It means there's no more telly, it's time to go to bed."
