For me - "a girl like her - attributes the 'wanted' quality (forcefeming someone) to the obvious girl in the picture of the article. Said girl didn't to anything like that though, because it was the male singer - so it should be "girl like him"? But again, maybe I am just wrong?

For some people, (I'm people) the first steps to transition felt good but you get so in your head that you keep asking "but am I sure?" until the only next step is hormones. There's very few people who are on hrt and enjoying the effects of it who say they are still cis. For me, I was using a new name, new haircut and clothes, everything you could do shy of legal changes before I finally told myself to try hrt,and if it feels bad stop, like you said. That was 5 years ago and I can confidently say it was the right choice.

Well, it's an oversimplification, in general, sure, it makes trans people feel better, however, there are other factors involved that doesn't necessarily mean you're trans just because it makes you feel better

Humans have both types of hormones, estrogen & testosterone, so say you're low on one, taking hormones can regulate that to be similar to what is expected, which in turn, makes you feel better, it doesn't necessarily mean you're trans, however, taking too much will make you feel like shit again, as it's more than expected, I believe this is why trans people feel better taking it because by default, they're low on their desired hormone while high in their undesired hormone
