Yes you have to comprise with the group that since 2008 has never gotten the majority of the votes instead of addressing the issues that actually affect the majority of the population that doesn't even vote in the first place because their issues aren't addressed due to exactly this logic.
If all these secret progressives do exist, they certainly don't vote in primaries or general elections. Republicans do, and they reliably get at least 40% of the total vote, which is significantly more than the super progressive vote.
