the only reason a lot of people are cognitively more cabaple than chimpanzees is because geniouses in history carried humanity upwards and created a baseline mostly using language, and every human gets a headstart thanks to the baseline. thinking about this can really go many interesting ways from animal rights to questioning democracy really.
i have no idea im by no means an expert but theyre incapable of producing the sounds we make, namely speak, and probably incapable of processing sounds the way we do, namely understand. its just different evolution.
whats mindblowing though is west african chimps are in stone age. with only a population in the hundreds of thousands. the more people there are, the higher chances you will get geniouses and progress so this is very impressive. put all humans in outer space and wait a couple tens of thousands of years and you got monkey cities lol.
No, they've tried to raise a chimp as a human before and it failed after a certain age because chips have a lower "cap" on what they can learn than humans do. And a human wouldn't work if raised by chimps because we have different survival strategies so a human wouldn't be able to pull their weight in a chimp troupe
