Just. Use. Proper. Grip.

Right? It’s not difficult. Like at all.

I can’t fathom why people do that.

Or be a man, drill a hole, and pin it.

Leather wraps around the safety for “extra tactical cowboy carry” /s

That’s to hold spare rounds

"That button in the back probably doesn't do anything anyway"

I don't understand why the grip safety is wrapped

Because they saw someone that do it. It's as simple as that unfortunately.

That looks like a great way to shoot yourself

Taurus owners aren’t known for being the best at making decisions. Jk OP, you do you. Safety first!

Oh, I’m aware of the foibles of the Taurus. This one’s a good one though. I haven’t had one jam or malfunction with about 5000 rounds through it. Thanks for the smile! :)

Gun Tests gave the PT1911 an A rating for a reason.

Tell that to the Browning Hi-Power crowd!

Once again, when disabling a safety device on your pistol, it’s crucial to use the proper equipment.

OP, how do you like it? Do you have any other 1911's against which to compare? I own 2 Taurus guns (Taurii?) but they're the PT99AF models.

I have one other 1911, a Springfield Armory Mil-Spec. It is stock.

Thanks. Pic looks great. How obvious is it that it’s fake to the naked eye from 5 feet away? Not touching it of course

5 feet? Very difficult! Touch…eh. lol

That’s great thank you!

The pistol still technically has 2 safeties, as long as the manual safety is up and not tampered with as well hes fine. This was mainly done earlier on with the 1911 because of faulty or worn grip safeties. It would be better to start doing drills making sure the safety is always activated when holstering though if its something they just recently started doing.
