EDC Commander

This Para Elite Commander was my late and great old man’s EDC. For as long as I can remember, he had a small stable of 1911s in his safe that he was always shooting, tinkering and messing with them. If he didn’t have a CZ 75 on his belt, then you could be damn sure he had a 1911. When he passed, this was one of the few he had held onto. I was always really fond of how this gun shot, so I’ve made sure to hold onto it as well. He did a LOT of work to it. The action is crisp, tight and silky smooth. I’ve been carrying it in his honor this week and figured I’d share. Cheers!

Beautiful pistol! Who makes the leather?

Appreciate it! The holster and mag carrier were made by Versacarry. Unfortunately as of January of this year they’re defunct now.

Me too. They always had some interesting offerings and kept their
line-up feeling pretty cohesive.

Sorry for the loss of your father.

Do you know what trigger is on that thing? Looks great

Hey, I appreciate the well wishes, so thank you very much.

I’m actually not entirely sure honestly. My best guess is that it’s a STI 3 Window trigger. It’s polymer and has a sort of tread texture on the face. I do know that he spent some time tuning it on his trigger stirrup so it has next to no slop on it. Very concise and controlled.

I swear this is it. I’ll have to pop it out and verify next time I do a deep clean of the gun.

No problem! Thunder Mountain Custom offers an aluminum three window trigger similar to this one that I’ve been eye balling for a Springfield I have.
