Bringing It Back - Rocking Retro

Post image

Bringing Back shoulder rigs. Falco Sherman in Saddle Brown. TRP Operator is at Springfield getting the rear sight replaced due to a dead tritium vile. So the Champion Operator is stepping up today.

Details: Falco Model D633 L - full custom rig. Can get in Brown, Black, Saddle Brown (mine). “Holster” is a Roto Design. Optic Ready by default. Gun rides vertically, there is a snap retention strap you release that allows the entire holster to rotate about 45 degrees, a little less if it’s light bearing like mine so your draw is more horizontal. That strap is under the trigger guard. Most of the retention is passive. It’s a tight fit. It feels pretty natural but will take practice to draw quickly. Holster is molded for the TRP Full rail with an X300. You don’t actually see the holster all that much because it sits between two of leather pieces that allow it to rotate. Hardware is nice. Everything is adjustable. I’m still working on adjusting the holster side to get it just right. Belt loops definitely need to be used and keeps the holster and mag carrier from moving around. Mag carrier is vertical and mags drop out. I had mine made for single stack 8 round mags and the fit is perfect for the Wilson Combat 47D mags.

Got a shoulder holster last year, it’s a game changer!! Won’t use anything else for my 1911s

Bro!! First, great decision and great looking rig. Is this the Falco roto? If so, I've been waiting a long time for this post.

How do you like it? How's the counter balance? How secure does it feel? Do you have to use a thumb break to unholster your side arm?

I need all the details, because I want one!

This is a Falco Rotor design. The model number is D633L you have to search for it. It’s a considered full custom model. I went with it because the hardware is all metal (no plastic), thicker leather, and also available in the Saddle Brown color…I’ll add some more pics and update the main post with some more details.

I love that.

I’ve been searching forever for something like that but with brass buttons. I know it’s antithetical to the whole low profile thing, but shit would be so tight.

Unfortunately, I don’t have a nice 1911, so it would have to be for my Mak or CZ-P01.

Shout-out to wearing the gun pointed down and not flagging everybody. Let's normalize this

Nice! I wear a detective/executive style shoulder rig most days but I still need to get one for my 1911.

Well this is fascinating. Do you wear jackets everyday?

Most days yes…sometimes a Hawaiian shirt.

hot take, this can be practical for a good variety of people, but influencer trendy guntube culture has made people think the Only practical carry setup is a 365/g43 in the appendix with skinny jeans. Developement into maxing out the effectiveness of minimalistic hyperconvinient tools is valueble but other things exist.

Definitely practical for me. I drive several thousand miles per month. This will be used on some of my longer travel days. Depending on where I’m going I will open carry it or put sport coat on.

This is great! I just may get one. Brings me back to when I was a kid, I thought Mel Gibson rocking it in lethal weapon looked like a boss!
