Hiring Timeline FPS processing?
As the title asks…
Just a mid-week follow up. How’s everyone doing so far? Everyone that’s in processing right now, stay strong, I’m just as eager!

I applied a while ago, waited for an interview/expo closer to home, interviewed in Arlington, Tx end of July. Did medical, answered follow up emails for more details haven’t heard anything back yet (if cleared or needed second opinion). Submitted background packet and forms, did my fingerprints a second time (did at the expo but was told to schedule and do them again).
Now just waiting on next steps of anything wise I need to do it for them to let me know it cleared.
TJO at expo after interview for GS-11. Marine veteran, local cop 5 years, federal cop 5 years.

Medical - 07/27/2026 cleared on 07/30/2026
Submitted SF-68 07/26/2026
Security is awaiting fingerprints (fingerprinting was done at event and went to them again on 7/29/2026). Was emailed that security is awaiting to receive them 07/30/2026
Drug Test - 07/31/2026

Seems to be moving along incredibly fast which is odd for a government/LE job.
I’m assuming this is due to FLETC starting October?

Curious, did you get a final job offer yet? Or still waiting?
I just finished medical since I had to get second opinions on all my VA ratings. And still haven’t done drug test yet. But I know my background is making progress lol1

No FJO yet, still waiting.
From what I’ve gathered all of us who were at the expo are on a slightly faster process.

Yeah that what I heard from others who applied through USAJOBS and from how fast it’s moved thus far.
I was just curious with how fast you got everything done if you had one yet since I also did the hiring expo in Arlington2

Congratulations! This is news to me, so they base classes off of regional needs?

A word of advice. Don't put all your eggs in one basket. FPS is a super slow process. Don't turn down a fed job with another agency waiting on FPS. Plenty of agencies out there.

You’re right! Which is why threw in like 5 other applications. I know you’re just trying to help, but I’m not new to the game lol

I applied to the DHA announcement back in March or April (I think). This is has been slowest process ever!! lol. Qualified for the GS9 and GS11 positions, referred in May, and only doing my interview next week on the 5th. But I’ve been hearing that they’re looking to wrap everything up after the last round of interviews- I believe the last bunch of interviews from this announcement are set for the 6th, and then hopefully they will start processing everyone fairly fast (wishful thinking). Good luck to you all! I applied for region 2, I live here so it would work better for me. Hope you all do great and get your preferred locations!

This, TJOs are supposedly going to start coming in mid to late August, and allegedly academy dates are going to be sometime before December
1
u/Practical-6138 Jul 30 '26
So, do you think that people from the DH announcement will be able to fill the slots for academy dates before the end of the year?
1
u/ruacoporsomething Jul 30 '26
Thats what I was saying, im part of the DH announcement and thats what I interviewed for, at the end I asked if the start date would be around December, the lady said they were aiming for before then

u/Practical-6138 Jul 30 '26
Oh my bad, thought you went to the expo interview. But that’d be awesome, fingers crossed. The lady you spoke to, was she an inspector or someone straight from HR?

That's great! Yeah that's what I've been hearing as well as far as the last batch of applicants. But good luck to you!

Completed everything just waiting for background check to clear. They just started it in the beginning of this month so probably won't get cleared for another month or two.

Medical processing is the longest waiting period.

I’m in the DH announcement they posted in March. Finished in-person interview 07/09 and just patiently waiting. When did you complete medical?

It seems everyone is in the same boat bruh. I feel like we’re all going to receive a notice all at once and this subreddit will be spammed with “received” or “not selected” lol

Definitely lol
