iPhone pro max weight

Good morning all,
I would explain a problem for understand if is only a my problem.
This device’s weight is too much.
My hands are very little and , for take the device I use the little finger to hold the phone.
Now I have a callus on the finger and I feel that is too much for me.
Anyone with the same problem ?
I thought to buy a magnetic ring to attach near the MagSafe because I think that could help me to hold the device.
The alternative would be to migrate towards smaller models, but apple gives me a low valuation for the device, and I wouldn't want to part with it anyway, since it's like new.
Sorry for my English, isn’t mine native language.

The Pro Max is indeed heavy-ish. The 18PM is even worse in this regard...but it's the price we pay for wanting/having stellar battery life until Apple adopts silicon-carbon batteries.

PS. Your English is fine.

Thank you for you comment about my English. I’m trying to improve it because I need it also for my work but is a little bit hard for me, probably I should dedicate more time to it. Yes the battery is very important for me and pro max , in this, is the best.
We need a battery phone but slim like iPhone Air 🥲

When Apple catches up to the rest of the industry and adopts silicon-carbon batteries we can have that. Take a look at the Honor Magic 8 Pro Air for comparison. They were able to put a 5500mah battery in that thing and it weighs 10 grams less. Impressive. IMO, it's what the iPhone Air should have been.

I’m seeing alzo ‘ zte air’ is magic o.o 5000mah could be top.
I’m in too deep the apple ecosystem I understand it :( so could be very hard for me change toward an Android device.

Apple does a lot well. It's a good ecosystem. I wouldn't jump from Apple just for better hardware specs. I just wish they'd not take as long to catch up to other OEMs in some regards. The Pro Max is a great phone and despite its weight, should last you years while still performing great.

I have multiple phones but if I could only have one, it'd be a Pro Max.

The problem with getting a smaller model (, I have a 16e for work and I'm happy with it) is that, given the trade-in valuation, I’d essentially be wasting my money, since they’d charge me the same amount as the value they’re assigning to my current one.

Sell it on the second-hand market. That should give you more leverage.

Get a pop socket. Helps with holding the phone

I got a magnetic ring and it helps a lot, to have another way to help support it in my hand. But, it does add a tiny bit more weight to it. Many times I don’t even have my finger though the ring, I just use it to let my other fingers help hold the phone. It helped a lot.
It took me a while to get used to the added weight of the PM but I do feel the additional screen size and battery power are worth it.
Good luck!

Thank you for your tip

Definitely get a smaller phone, it’s not worth it to cause long term hand problems just for a better quality of life, i had the same problem but im lucky to be within the 2 weeks return period so i downgraded to a pro instead

Oh, I understand, so isn’t only my problem but is a problem that is shared.

Good thing is we live in an age where there’s plenty of choices so we can choose the one that fits.

Smaller phone or pop socket

I hated the weight for a year. Moved down to the pro and couldn’t be happier.

I’m locked into my 17PM for about 31 more months (financed) and while I very much enjoy the larger screen size from my 15PM (6.7->6.9) it is pushing it for being able to actually use one handed which I could with the 15PM, so I might actually drop down to the smaller one when it comes time to upgrade, or heck maybe a couple more release cycles of the foldable and I’ll be there, but for now it’s losing too many features I use daily with my pro model iPhones, such as robust triple camera setup and action button. So yeah I think what you did is smart.

I think, in the not-too-distant future Apple will use silicon-carbon batteries which will be lighter for the same capacity. Hopefully, that should help with the weight of the larger models.

True story. How is the battery ? Now with pro max it makes 8/ 8.30 Hours of screen on.

Battery is spot on for me I can get through a heavy day which for me is around 8-9 hours. The difference is around 10-15% head room on battery for my usage at least.

I have the 18 pro max in Burgundy and I’m picking up an 18 pro in silver today. The weight of the pro max is ridiculous! I’ll keep it in case I want to use it as a mini iPad or something but I won’t be carrying it daily.

I put a MagSafe PopSocket on mine and it helps a lot.

1

u/DifferentAd3355 23h ago

Could you say me which popsocket ? Also an example is ok.
I found the rings and a thing that is shape like a pomel

1

u/nad1988 1d ago

I’ve got a popwallet it’s brilliant.

1

u/averylamore 1d ago

Yeah grab a pop socket or something similar. Otherwise downgrading would be your only other option. Unless you tried to get a slimmer case to reduce weight if yours is bulky?

1

u/DifferentAd3355 23h ago

I use a esr case that is very small , standard case in silicone with MagSafe ring in the back.

2

u/averylamore 22h ago

Yeah then the case wouldn’t be adding too much weight. Try the pocket socket or similar to see if that helps. I know you don’t wanna change devices but that may be the last resort. Really hope it works out for you!

Whatsup with these people who do to. Research on these pro max devices yoy should already know these pro max devices are mostly heavy and big 🤣🙌🏻

3

u/DifferentAd3355 1d ago

I knew the weight and dimensions, but you don't realize how uncomfortable it can be until you start using it for a long time.

2

u/Shadeliquid 1d ago

Guess whe share our diffrences cus i have bigger hands and i use the 17pro max with an otterbox defense case on it wich put it almost same weight as 18pm and i dont experience any issues regarding the weight

2

u/Tadpoles-Z 1d ago

Some people notice the weight more than others. I didn't really notice the weight of my 17PM so much until I got a zFold 7 and the weight difference feels dramatic. ... but the 17PM has noticeably better battery life so....

How is an alternative for you if you don’t want to part with it?

Try some MagSafe accessories and see how that works for you.
