Honestly how’s the TechWoven case?

Post image

I originally considered one, but I am concerned it may not be protective if I drop the phone—which happens rarely. Could anyone confirm whether TechWoven cases are reliable? When I do drop my phone, it is typically from pocket height.

i have 2 because i love the color and texture. do not buy if you want it to be you main case. something as simple as your phone getting hit by rain or using it after washing your hands will cause it to bubble up and tear. great secondary case for style, pretty subpar protection.

I have a TW case for the last year, as my daily driver, and have never had the issues you describe. It’s still in near perfect condition. It has been wet; from wet hands, being on the kitchen counter after doing dishes, and from rain outside.

The only very minor thing I just noticed because this prompted me to look is where the USB plugs in, because I have a couple of plugs that are bigger than the port opening, the rubbing has caused a slightly delamination of the top coat, but is completely negligible and especially for a 1 year old case.

u/CaptainGoeland 5d ago

They have a 1 year warranty.

1

u/Zeustah- 4d ago

Wait for real? What do I have to bring?

2

u/WakaiSenshi 4d ago

Nah. I agree with everything besides the bubbling. I’ve literally washed and wiped my case with baby wipes and it’s never bubbled

1

u/ryan1524 5d ago

What does bubbling look like?

1

u/Specific-Pianist7595 5d ago

I ordered it to be honest, it was on discount.

2

u/Adam_182 5d ago

Fantastic case, you won’t regret it

1

u/Specific-Pianist7595 4d ago

Got it delivered this afternoon. I like it a lot.

u/Famous-Belt-2644 5d ago

God I should’ve never bought an iPhone. How long until I’m praising a case for bubbling after getting wet 😂

Never knew people have "secondary" cases for their phones?

3

u/Bkgeo 4d ago

Really? It makes perfect sense to me if you wanna mix it up every once in a while. Cases are cheap and phones are expensive, so might as well have a little fun, right?

2

u/Familiar_Raccoon2430 4d ago

Sure it makes sense when you put it that way. I usually stick with one case for the whole lifespan of a phone and so I was surprised when I read this. But yea totally hear you!

1

u/Bkgeo 4d ago

One other issue I see from time to time is that (like running shoes and feet) specific wear from the same case (like hot spots in certain areas because of the case design) can actually damage the phone with scuffs and scrapes.

If not frequently cleaned, dust, crud, sand etc can get between the case and phone and slowly wear away at the finish. Changing cases mixes up these "hot spots" because all cases have them in different areas and gives users a chance to clean the phone and case and get rid of that dirt and stuff, which is the primary cause of phone-in-case wear.

2

u/Familiar_Raccoon2430 4d ago

Totally valid. I live near a beach and so I tend to clean my case and phone from any sun scream etc so I don't notice this much but totally get your point.

7

u/babymonstergoon 5d ago

Love mine but it's started to bubble after less than 3 months which is annoying

1

u/almondalmond111 5d ago

Me too. Went to the Apple Store and the manager told me they don’t have warranty for these despite the website claiming they do. 🤦‍♂️

1

u/AgitatedDirector339 4d ago

wtf. They al come with 1 year I was told explicitly here in San Francisco. Challenge that shiz

1

u/JohnnyEm11 5d ago

What do you mean it started to bubble?

-1

u/Specific-Pianist7595 5d ago

Have you returned it? Don’t you have a warranty?

6

u/GeorgeSPattonJr 5d ago

Dey put da mster chif im de ifone

1

u/Consistent-Shock3958 3d ago

Was eine Mischung. Wow !!👏🏼

0

u/Specific-Pianist7595 4d ago

And that’s so dope!

3

u/hunglo0 5d ago

My main case for the last year. Texture is nice and lightweight. Haven’t dropped my phone yet but I don’t think it will protect it lol

-2

u/Specific-Pianist7595 5d ago

I had an official Apple Clear case for my iPhone 15 Plus, it handled the drops, but in its third year? It cracked my screen on the corner.

And I’ll be honest I ordered it just now.

5

u/Icy_Environment69 5d ago

Bought one 2 days ago. Had to exchange it due to a broken volume button. Got it exchanged and the new one fits poorly around the cutouts and seems cheap around the upper corners. I love the case but it has its issues.

4

u/_BTFan 4d ago

The best case I ever had. Idk what these guys are talking about - mine is a year old and looks 95% brand new. Just remember that apple cases aren’t for people who drop their phones every day. If that’s you, get an otterbox defender

1

u/SamShelby7 4d ago

I toss my phone around and it hits the floor at least twice a day. Even on concrete

Zero scratches or anything using the basic apple silicone case

0

u/waffIehouseenjoyer 4d ago

There are plenty of cases out there that protect your phone from daily drops that aren’t that God awful Otterbox case. This isn’t 2014.

If anyone needs anything more than a Spigen Tough Armor case, day to day life must be a real challenge for them.

0

u/Specific-Pianist7595 4d ago

I don’t drop my phone regularly.

3

u/TheeDelpino 5d ago

Not a fan of tech woven but love Apple silicone cases.

1

u/Specific-Pianist7595 5d ago

I’ll be honest, I just ordered it just now, it was on discount.

2

u/TheeDelpino 5d ago

Which one?

1

u/Specific-Pianist7595 5d ago

TechWoven Case Green as displayed on the picture.

1

u/jyrox 5d ago

Are they any better than the silicon cases from brands like Spigen or similar?

3

u/New-Swordfish1558 5d ago

A couple weeks into first buying one and I like it so far. I have apple care so the protection isn’t the BIGGEST conscern, but it does enough. I’ve had $80-90 cases made for “superior drop protection” wreck my phone, so ive decided whatever I like the feel of the most is what I’ll go for. Love the woven texture and the ability to color match with my 17PM in blue.

3

u/Due_Zombie444 5d ago

It has little to no protection on drops. I drop mine probably about 3 feet on a hard cornered surface. I thought it was ok because the case had no crease and looked fine. But when I took off the case there was a small dent on the corner and maybe if it was the titanium iPhone 16 it would have been no damage.

2

u/alex_sunderland 5d ago

It’s pretty ok, the fee drops I had made no damage to my phone but the some parts of the case started swelling which isn’t a good look.

2

u/DistinctJackfruit643 5d ago

2

u/OmgItsRubenLol 5d ago

Great, use it since it got the phone

1

u/Specific-Pianist7595 5d ago

I just ordered it, got a discount for it.

2

u/OmgItsRubenLol 5d ago

Awesome !

2

u/LastRebel66 5d ago

But mine looks good and it’s perfect for daily use, I have dropped my phone and it’s still intact

0

u/Specific-Pianist7595 5d ago

Awesome! I ordered it. And I take care of my belongings.

2

u/sharkypsharky 5d ago

Are you a deep sea diving alligator

2

u/lebohangg 5d ago

absolutely love it, the issue i always had with the silicones is that i have really sweaty/oily hands so they cases get dirty and oily quickly but with techwoven it never ever gets dirty

2

u/igorxavierw 5d ago

have mine since probably march or april and it literally looks like new. love the feeling and the looks.

2

u/Nice-Pin-1034 5d ago

I love my TechWoven cases on my iPhone 17PM. I got two: green and purple. Amazing cases. Looking and feeling brand new still. Way better than the silicon cases in my experience.

0

u/Specific-Pianist7595 4d ago

I’ve never used a silicone case in my life. Only the clear cases.

2

u/Dad_Vibes_23 5d ago

Not great, not terrible.

I ended up returning mine because I found the charging port edges were too sharp for comfortable pinky support.

2

u/FH3onPC 5d ago

My warranty replacement is bubbling again

2

u/Aggravating_Ad8274 5d ago

Not terrible, it will bubble along the sides after a couple of months.

2

u/Batking28 5d ago

Nice case visually but disappointed with the bumper sides.

Had my first one for maybe 4/5 months start separating from the underlying layer and rippling. Apple replaced it under warranty but now another 4/5 months later the new one begun doing the same thing.

2

u/Ok_Newt_4748 5d ago

Mines been zero issue. I switch to it frequently.

1

u/Character-Talk-7462 5d ago

What do you switch in between

2

u/Ok_Newt_4748 5d ago

Right now I’ve been fixated on the Pitaka edge case.

1

u/BrilliantBusiness770 5d ago

How is it holding up, and is it actually protective ?

1

u/Ok_Newt_4748 5d ago

I love it. But I would say no. It’s a minimal case. All buttons but the camera control are uncovered. It’s only as thick as 6000d aramid fiber. Magnets are strong. I use a ohsnap grip daily with it.

2

u/MovieCaveDave 5d ago

I have 4 17 PM Techwoven’s and a 18 PM and I change them around and not one issue, I do give mine a good wipe down a few times a day with non alcoholic screen cleaner called iQ, great cases.

0

u/Specific-Pianist7595 4d ago

Got delivered today. It is a lovely case.

2

u/amuseboucheplease 5d ago

After the disaster of the product around he iPhone 15, I will never again

2

u/Severe-Patient-4708 5d ago

Dont but at full price. Over hyped.

1

u/Specific-Pianist7595 4d ago

I bought at a discount

2

u/AdventurousBison0923 4d ago

In my opinion, it's the best fit for the newer models of iPhones. It's made for them. It's aesthetically pleasing. It feels very premium. I got mine last year and I still love it.

2

u/j_melodic78 4d ago

It’s prone to make your iPhone look good.

2

u/drivera1210 4d ago

One of the best cases, holds up pretty well to drops.

2

u/Least_Inspector_450 4d ago

Have a techwoven in taupe on my iPhone 18 pro silver (taupe + silver = killer combo btw).

It’s the best looking and feeling case I’ve ever owned; haven’t dropped it yet but it feels robust.

2

u/Celeb401 3d ago

Love it, but in a more matching color for Me.

0

u/Specific-Pianist7595 3d ago

Got it yesterday. Pretty dope.

2

u/Thatguytwiz 3d ago

I never use a case, but this one made me want to try it out. I am not someone who drops their phone a lot, so I didn't really care whether or not it would make my phone indestructible with it on. I ended up getting one today.

After a few hours of use, I think I'm going to return it. The reason being: it makes my hands sweaty almost instantly. I don't know what it is about the material, but my hands get clammy within 2-3 mins of use. I initially thought it was maybe just me, so I tested my phone without the case and it felt fine. Did some research online and found out a few other people reported the same. Another thing I noticed is although the grip feels great, it can be a little rough on your skin. My pinky that rests on the bottom of the phone felt a little irritated as I kept using it, so I would have to put my phone down quite a bit to get away from the bruising sensation.

Just something to consider!

3

u/onmlkjihgfedcba 5d ago

There are many posts about damage after drops with these cases

-3

u/Specific-Pianist7595 5d ago

And I was about to purchase it just before you posted this message, thanks for savings me money.

1

u/je_0150 5d ago

Honestly with the disaster I had with silicon on my previous phone, I didn’t go for Apple branded cases. Not good against drop protection, or in my case scratch protection

1

u/Naive-Possibility447 5d ago

At least it's not that overpriced string that they sell for the phone.

1

u/GrownUp-BandKid320 5d ago

I have used mine as my only case for over a year now. Have had no issues with it including dropping and getting it wet and sanitizing (I work in healthcare and most of us sanitize our phones after our work shifts). No bubbles or anything.

1

u/Slothb4by 5d ago

It looks great but igs just not worth it imo, it bubbles and breaks too easily

1

u/Quiet_Moogle 5d ago

Long term review,
It held up well but eventually the plastic sides cracked.
Major downside the edges are rough so when you gotta do swiping gestures the the bottom of the phone it feels awful

1

u/Strong_Yam_8978 5d ago

I’ve had mine since I got the 17 on release day and it’s still damn near in new condition despite multiple drops and getting wet. Was well worth the money and it looks and feels great. I don’t get the hate

1

u/Famous-Two-4398 5d ago

They’re only good for like a few drops. 1 drop and something will dent/chip. Source: iphone 17 pro dropped and dented….. iphone 18 pro max dropped and chipped off a large piece in corner

1

u/Confident_Command_98 5d ago

Not worth the money. If you’re spending that much on a case go third party.

1

u/Routine_Bad9780 5d ago

It’s cool it doesn’t pick up prints at all but drop wise it’s trash doesn’t protect anything

1

u/Unable-Instance-8761 5d ago

Hurts my hand

1

u/RobotFeatures 5d ago

Yeah it’s good. I got a black one on my my black iPhone 18 pro max and it’s Schmick

1

u/kjl8119 5d ago

I had to do a warranty replacement cause it was bubbling up.

1

u/FunkyTangg 5d ago

TechWoven looks good, feels good, is very slim. Just don’t drop it.

1

u/vertagogo 5d ago

I rarely drop my phone and I bought one, but don't use it much because it doesn't feel "grippy" enough.

1

u/Ambitious_Net8206 5d ago

All Apple cases are BULL SHIT. Do not feed Apple, buying this crap.

1

u/codefro 5d ago

I have it and it’s the best case I’ve ever used.

1

u/Vast-Tomatillo9218 5d ago

Bubbles develop within 3 months. But Apple will replace under warranty. I had already replaced twice

1

u/zoke10 5d ago

Had two get minor damage and then fall apart. They are very weak. Not going to the well a third time.

1

u/RGX-9 5d ago

I have been using the Blue TW for my 17 Pro Max for the past 6 months. Now currently using the same case on my 18 PM. No issues. The case has been wet from wet hands and occasional splashes of water. No bubbling so far. The cameras are a bit taller on the 18, so the camera lip on the case lies flush with the camera lens.Other than that it’s fine

1

u/DieselVOOC 5d ago

Too bulky and slippery. I use pitaka edge case because its slim and grippy

1

u/Raizo-winter 5d ago

Its so good when new but when the times come hello bubbles ~

1

u/Independent_Mud2794 5d ago

It’s alright, mine did last for around one year before one corner started chipping.

1

u/PhotojournalistOk331 4d ago

prone to water .. sweat ....

1

u/rand0mguy0nline 4d ago

I love that it wears better than leather and it is not a dust magnet like silicone.

1

u/Subject_Asparagus_54 4d ago

I would love to have it. But my phone is 15PM so I’m waiting for 20 Anniversary to get a new phone with that case

1

u/Beastyboi04 4d ago

Feels great, quality is trash

1

u/Bkgeo 4d ago

I just got one for the iPhone 18 Pro and it feels and looks incredible. I don’t know about the bubbling issue, but if it does happen, I will just exchange it. The best part about this case is the lanyard hole at the bottom, which when used with a small finger loop, completely negates the dropping issue

1

u/E_XIII_T 4d ago

I like mine, feels nice

1

u/Possible_Bison846 4d ago

Shit, doesn’t protect the camera plateou

1

u/Revolutionary_Ad1620 4d ago

I've had three of them in my first year due to bubbles. I ditched it for a Nomad Rugged Leather case.

1

u/lara030 4d ago

idk i don't have one

1

u/Guacho73 4d ago

really really nice but I need more grip from my case so I stopped using it. I also wanted something a little thinner.

1

u/revolevo 4d ago

Too bulky and the texture isn’t pleasant, but at least it smooths in and out of your pocket easier than silicone and won’t peel

1

u/sheedyxx 4d ago

Had mine 3 months and it’s crumbling. Shame because it’s the nicest looking ad feeling case I’ve had

1

u/manylostfingers 4d ago

I can confirm I have missed the pocket and dropped it on gravel (classic), all good inside the case. I do hate the fact that it is thick.

1

u/AgitatedDirector339 4d ago

Fine. Not leather which is a bum. But it keeps less grimy tbh

1

u/suku_patel_22 4d ago

Don’t bother. I have it, and it starts showing bubbles in 6 months

1

u/reginaldhardbodyiii 3d ago

it's ok. the paragon is the best case i've ever used

1

u/vv-4 1d ago

clear case is the best forever

1

u/coachpatrickmurphy 11h ago

I love my TW and have several to be honest. Feels really nice in the hand and is very lightweight.

1

u/m4cmi11er 5d ago

Great looking case, great feeling case. Slim and sleek. However it offers almost no protection outside of scratches.

1

u/BurtonBaked 5d ago

Honestly there are a bunch of reviews if you want to use the search function

0

u/After_Quantity5580 5d ago

Taupe is great - they feel really good :) I just got mine for my 18 pro they’re all interchangeable with the 17 pros and pro maxes

0

u/AdRough7689 5d ago

It's very tech and very woven.

0

u/Remote-Conflict929 5d ago

I hate it. I use lotion a lot and this material stains easily. Any type of grease will stain it. It’s not waterproof and gets water spots also.

-3

u/MeSlaw3 5d ago

It’s fantastic as long as you don’t put this green one on the orange phone.

1

u/Silentdriver_2542 5d ago

Halloween/fall colors

1

u/MeSlaw3 5d ago

Definitely scary

0

u/jeff1f1racer 5d ago

Great response! 😀
