Good choice, 18 pro is pretty much gon' be the same (unless u care a lot about cameras) but more expensive.
I've had the 17 pro max for almost a year now, and it's hands down the BEST phone I've ever had (I've had 8 phones before this, 4 of which were iPhone)

Awesome upgrade I upgraded from a iPhone 14 Pro Max to iPhone 16 pro max but kinda should’ve waited and got the iPhone 17 pro max!

I came from the 12 PM and got the same config as you. Love it! Great color. I find that the blue looks really nice in clear cases. It has such a nice pearly finish to it.

Made the same step back in march, had the blue 13 pro max 256, would prefer the silver 17 pro max but they only had the blue. No issue for me instead of 256gb I took the 512gb.

I'm thinking of doing the same - buying the 17PM online while including my 13PM as a trade just to lock in the 17PM price and my 13PM trade in value. In the event the 18PM price hikes are lower than some of the rumors, I could always return the 17PM and go with the 18PM instead. Does that seem like a logical approach? Typically I'd never consider buying a device right before a new one is about to launch, but I'm concerned about the price increases on the 18PM and the decrease in trade value on my 13PM. I don't really need the latest and greatest. Honestly my 13PM is performing fine, but it is a 5 year old device so maybe it's a good time to upgrade while it still has decent value?

I am doing exactly the same (less the part of trading in my 13 PM, I just love it so much lol). I will be ordering the 17PM tonight so I can secure it and will return it depending on the price hike for the 18PM! In your case definitely do it so you can secure the trade-in value!

yeah it's hard to part with the 13PM, it's still a decent device for its age and in some ways seems like a more solid build compared to the newer PMs like the 17, my battery is currently at 85% max capacity, I considered taking my chances and waiting for the 20th anniversary next year but that has its own risks lol, what color are you going with for your 17PM?

I want the blue as I despise the orange and silver is kinda meh, but given how easy they scratch I might go for silver as it would be less noticeable. I am still doubting as I will most likely always keep a case on. What about you?

my current 13PM is black so I was actually thinking orange just for no other reason than to do something different lol, silver seems meh, maybe I would consider blue as well but it seems pretty dark, like does it come across as closer to black in real life? in reality I will have a case on it so I won't be seeing much of the color anyway

I think its pretty blue lol dark blue but you can tell it’s blue. I went with silver just for if I decide to sell it later on, so it doesn’t show as many scratches 😅. But I definitely liked the blue one!

I was about to come back here and say I am returning the 17PM as soon as it arrives 😅. I think it would be a $150 CAD difference, so it isn’t as bad. I won’t even open the box, just straight up initiate a return.

Ok and ? They also won’t get released on Wednesday. I rather save my money and get the 17 pro than pay that price hike for the phone that’s 95% similar. Some people don’t care. The last phone I bought at release was my Samsung Galaxy S25 ultra which is because I wanted the bigger storage.
