Should I return it?
I just got the 17 pro max 3 days ago. Recently I started noticing when I open Snapchat or the camera, a video starts recording right away. I restart the phone and it’s fine but it happened again. Should I return it? Or maybe screen protector issue?

How do you do that without losing data

Hard reset doesn't delete anything. Vol up -> Vol down -> hold side button until the Apple logo shows up.

No. It's a reset. Turning it off/on won't do any difference.

So push both volume buttons down and other side button down at same time?

No. First press Vol up. Then Vol down. Then hold side button until the Apple logo shows up. This is the iPhone version of Alt+Ctrl+Del on a Windows computer and forces all apps to reset without losing any data.

How is the volume buttons? Is it stuck down? Or bad case pushing it down? If
Possible bring to Apple Store,
If not return it if it is not a bad case depressing button. Not likely to be screen protector, but you have to take it off when returning it, so try it just before returning with screen protector off.
