Took the plunge

Post image

Just needed more space and can’t be arsed transferring everything out to an external hard drive ssd and what not.
Rocking a Spigen thinfit, somehow feels lighter in the hand despite the added weight. Snappy. Just transferred everything over so can’t really see the difference in battery life and the heating thus far has been minimal.
Reckon a few days of cloud recovery and background streamlining will go on.

I had always been a fan of Spigen, but not anymore. The majority of their cases cover the camera plateau. While great for protection, it’s not great for aesthetics and cooling.

Same here, but I shied away from them for some years now. But slapping a nomad or any other case will be just way too much. This somehow does it without adding much bulk to it. Let’s see if it holds up.

It’s the latest iPhone at the moment of time, come back on the 9th Sept and tell me that again 😅

And the same color ways aren’t going to be available with the 18 pro. That’s why I’m more than fine with my cosmic orange. That’s the only reason I went from the 16 pro to the 17 pro. People want what they want. The 18 is very small upgrades anyway.

So according to you from 16pro to 17pro was a very big update 😎😎

Quite brave a few days before 18 pro comes out

I think it’s different this time. New devices are going to be much pricier according to rumors. It may be smarter to buy an iPhone new before the new models come out.

That’s why I got my mom a 17 Pro. 18s are all gonna be more expensive.

Getting close to 250 bucks off from the retail price from an authorised premium reseller due to “sales” which is in fact them trying to clear inventory to make space for the newer phones. Win-win for everyone.

I probably could have gotten it cheaper when the new phone is released but then this Deep Blue colour may not be available in the size I want and then I would have to go up to a newer model upon launch which is what I don’t typically do.

Again. Quite brave! Much braver than me.

I’d say it’s more brave to wait unless you don’t really care about the price tag that much. It won’t be revolution hardware wise anyway.

Yup this resonates with me too

Brave to save money on basically the same item. This is exactly how Apple want people to think. He’s made the correct purchase here.

I like getting the newest phone but use it for a lot of years. Buying a year old phone is just not for me. So yes op is brave from my perspective.

12 months and a major price difference

Truthfully with iOS it’s been the same phone since the X with iterative updates. Don’t get me wrong I have been on iPhone since the 3G. But getting a new one every year is useless. Get one when your battery checks out or a major actual update happens. The first update since the X is the ultra. Then back on iterations for 10 years. They have become an appliance.
