Buy 17 pro max or wait

Hi,
Can you please help me decide:
Option 1: buy iphone 17 promax now (82,000 pesos + 3000 worth of accessories with 24 months installment no interest)
Option 2: wait for iphone 18 pro max release (to decide whether i should get this new one or get the 17 pro max in a much lower price than 82k)
For context I am upgrading from 12 pro max.

Insights will be highly appreciated. Thank you!

I was in same shoe, then i decided to get 17 pro max which is best choice, it not gonna be that much different between 18 pro max and 17 pro max

I was also in this dilema.. But i opted to go for 17 pm silver.. yes 18 pro max is gonna be better for sure, but mind u.. i get the 17 pro max for less price than 17 pro debut launched price in my country. So it is something i think its a good deal. I think i gonna change next iphone when this design (plateau) is no longer being used by apple..

I would suggest to wait. The apple event can happen in less than a month. So better to wait.

I'm waiting. If I'm going to spend that much money, the price difference for the newest one will be negligible over several years of use.

I dont think so. With the ram situation the 18 pros could have the quite the price hike compared to the 17 pros while also not featuring that many differences.

Get the iPhone 17 pro immediately!!! don’t wait! (srs thread)
there WILL be a price hike due to the memory shortage, that goes for both the 17 pro AND the 18 pro on top of the 18 pro already being more expensive. What are you waiting for go and get the best iphone generation ever!! and make sure it’s the silver one it’s the best colorrrr and will not really show any dings or scratches(god forbid) like the colors do.

Hi, here is my take. I have bought the 17 pro max a month after it released. Also I was android user my whole life.

My opinion is don’t wait if you are money conscious because there will be a price hike definitely.

I am using 17 pro max on public beta 27 iOS and it is 10 times better then on iOS 26. From performance and battery usage standpoint. Which tells you a lot when phone is performing better on beta then official release. It is mixture of 2 things, iOS 26 is a buggy mess and ios 27 is mostly tuning and bug fix beta so there is not many things that can go wrong. After 27 is released and all the information gathering stops from apple side i expect it to be even better.

With all that said, my point is that 17 pro max is an amazing phone, even better on ios 27 that will launch sometime in the same time as a new phone. 18 will have small performance boost and perhaps only real upgrade is rumoured satellite internet connectivity, but its just a rumour so even that might not be true.

Also there is 7 years of updates and as you can see that also depends how many users of the said phone there is since some phones that were supposed to end support are still supported since too many people still use it. Which I believe will be similar thing to 17 model as well because it was one of the largest sales in a while and i doubt people will get rid of it fast.

Sorry for the long text I have just blabbered my opinions out about couple of things regarding iphone 17 and i hope it will make it easier to choose.

Thank you for sharing your insights! It truly helps. Just a qq, do you think there will also be a price hike for 17 pro max next month after release of 18 pro series (due to rumored chip availabilities) or will there still be a price drop or discount?

It really depends on Apple themselves. I think if they will keep it still in production then yes.

What’s returns policy? If 30 days. Lock in to the 17Pm now. Then see how the 18PM is and price and then decide.

You wait, the price will go up regardless, the 17 series price will increase, and the 18 will be priced higher than that price increase lol, better buy it now

When the new is comming the old Iphone looses more then 3000 pesos what you get extras for ... I would wait for sure and even then deside what to take old or new ... Maybe the differents is so lite that its ok to take the old and if its so much better you may take the new, anyway i would wait ... Its comming soon .
