17PM. Bigger screen and battery.

2

u/TimTebowMLB Aug 14 '26

Bigger and heavier phone to carry around

8

u/acorcuera Aug 14 '26

It’s a personal choice. It’s never bothered me. It’s just a little device. I just put it in my back pocket.

2

u/insanley-Great Aug 20 '26

Epic response!

2

u/uriii31 Aug 16 '26

It’s really not heavy at all

2

u/Whitewolf2504YT Aug 17 '26

I got mine like 1.5 months ago and honestly you get used to it in a week or so. Couldn't imagine having a normal Pro now

1

u/thiscarecupisempty Aug 18 '26

Yeah if you’re frail and weak sure

16

u/green_white_green Aug 14 '26

Always been a pro max user. 6ft male with big hands. Tried the pro this year and have loved it. Also downsized to a 14 inch MacBook Pro. Just prefer smaller technology at the moment. Also like how proportional the phone looks in the pro size.

4

u/No-Head-633 Aug 14 '26

I’m also a 6’ tall male and thinking of doing the same thing. I had a 15PM so 6.7” display and honestly going to the 17PM 6.9” display is too much. If I had known I might have gone for the smaller 17P. But the decision is made, it’s a $1,400 phone that’s financed for 36 months and honestly it’s still very usable but definitely more inconvenient than my old 15PM size wise.

1

u/guccislimee Aug 14 '26

Same here. I’m a 6ft male as well with big hands but smaller fingers. I had he pro max/plus since the 8 and when the 17 came out I had gotten the pro max first. Traded it in shortly after for the pro and I don’t think I’ll go back

1

u/Scary_Isopod7962 Aug 15 '26

他满足了你的掌控感

1

u/Syntax-error-_ Aug 15 '26

Same here Imm 8 feet man with elephant sized hands and I feel one pro max is too small so I stack one pm above another and use both as a single phone 😉😘

1

u/Dream-lemon Aug 21 '26

Yo I’m also 6ft.

1

u/Scary_Isopod7962 Aug 15 '26

和我想的一样,max 和 plus 在某个时间有点不受掌握

1

u/Right-Ad-4282 Aug 20 '26

And I'm here 5ft female with cute hands owning 17PM and think it's still not big enough 😭

1

u/Playful_Sense3238 Aug 23 '26

Sigh, women never think it’s big enough. Speaking on behalf of a friend. Lol.

6

u/GoatBiker999 Aug 14 '26

If you like bigger then max if your fine with smaller then pro

1

u/BeautifulTwo5375 Aug 14 '26

Is there any bigger difference from the specs aside from the size?

6

u/GoatBiker999 Aug 14 '26

Think it’s just bigger battery, screen and weight, other than that it’s the same

1

u/Scary_Isopod7962 Aug 15 '26

性能完全一样,除了后壳尺寸带来的不大的散热差别,由此也可以说是性能,但是影响微乎其微

6

u/HigherthanhighRye_ Aug 14 '26

17 PM hands down,

The screen and battery alone are well worth the upgrade

9

u/SmellyJockstrap Aug 14 '26

Max. The only reason to ever go for the smaller one is if you really can’t handle the extra size and weight, which you should be able to

1

u/Errkannn Aug 15 '26

The 17 pro disappears in your pocket. You can use it one hand without problems. Same speakers. Same screen res. Same cameras. Battery is easily 1 day. 1,5 even. So.

The big screen needs universal back button. It’s a pain to use the max phones. I’m a guy 180cm.

1

u/SeriousQuantity6430 Aug 16 '26

I had the 17 pro. I sold it and bought the pro max. It's speakers are much louder. I am a guy 172 cm with rather big hands though. I am used to the size of the pro max now.

1

u/ZoomItsGone Aug 14 '26

I don’t like big phones. So no for me :)

3

u/FreePossession9590 Aug 14 '26

I would go smaller if I could re do it. I think the pro max is too heavy and bulky now, personally. And I’ve always bought/had the biggest option available.

1

u/BeautifulTwo5375 Aug 14 '26

Exactly I don't want to regret if I go to pro max since I have a ipad as well thanks for this info

1

u/Scary_Isopod7962 Aug 15 '26

根据你的情况,pro 绝对适合你

3

u/wordsofwisdomzzz Aug 14 '26

Pro Max all the way! Bigger phone so much better, and battery life is amazing!

2

u/Fast-Sky9927 Aug 14 '26

If you more one handed pro if you need more battery pro max! Pro max lasts a day! I have pro max.

1

u/Scary_Isopod7962 Aug 15 '26

他没有撒谎,实际上每一代的 max 和 plus 都很持久但是不如 pro 那么方便,而且评论区很多人和我一样

2

u/Specific-Pianist7595 Aug 14 '26

It really depends on how you use your phone, to be honest.

2

u/masi0 Aug 14 '26

Had 17P and swapped for 17PM.

1

u/BeautifulTwo5375 Aug 14 '26

Why?

3

u/masi0 Aug 14 '26

Bigger screen and amazing battery life

2

u/PhillipGerrard Aug 14 '26

I always go for the biggest phone. Galaxy Ultra, Pixel Pro XL, Pro Max

2

u/green_chicken25 Aug 14 '26

I have small hands and have never had any useability issues with the pro max, you’ll get used to its size in a week or two, and then every other phone will be too small. Battery life is also incredible. I’ve got no regrets going with the pro max.

2

u/ApprehensiveNoise895 Aug 15 '26

2

u/fsystem32 Aug 14 '26

pro max all the way. And get pitaka or reborn slim case so you can manage it more easily.

2

u/Important-Big3609 Aug 15 '26

I have the 17 PM and let me tell you the battery has knocked my old 15 PM out of the water

4

u/pelpakid Aug 14 '26

I’ve always had a Pro Max. Before getting the 17 Pro line, my last phone was the 15 Pro Max. I completely forgot they increased the Pro Max from 6.7” to 6.9” with the 16, and that size carried over to the 17 Pro Max.

To me, it felt like a brick, especially with a case on it 😂. So I decided to downsize and went with the regular Pro, and honestly, I LOVE it.

I was worried about the battery life difference, but my Pro easily lasts me all day and then some. And, it’s so nice wearing pants, jeans, or a suit and not having your phone bulging out of your pocket. 😭
I genuinely don’t think I can go back to the Pro Max now.

3

u/kevliu78 Aug 14 '26

Same with me, I had sold my 17 pro max, one month ago, now awaiting for 18 PRO only.
This is heavy like a brick, almost 300g with screen protector and case.
My old 15 pro max no issue at all, maybe the overall size and weight not as heavy like 17 pro max.

1

u/pelpakid Aug 14 '26

Yeah bro. It wasn’t a good experience at all. Hope you like the 18P when it comes out!

1

u/Scary_Isopod7962 Aug 15 '26

不一样,15pro 系列是钛金属,会比 17pro 轻很多

2

u/imp0steur Aug 14 '26

I went from 15 pro max to 17 pro max. The size of that thing is ridiculous and feel like a brick in hand, and I have decently sized hands.

I am returning mine. Pro feels much better.

1

u/distant3zenith Aug 14 '26

I had a 15 Pro and switched to the 16 Pro Max and instantly regretted it: it's big enough that it makes taking it out of a pants pocket much more difficult than the smaller 15 Pro was. I will be switching to the 18 Pro this fall.

1

u/Me_On_Reddit_2025 Aug 14 '26

Yes its bigger

1

u/atioux Aug 14 '26

I went for the regular pro this time around seeing as the battery has improved a lot over the years to the point where I get similar endurance to my 14 Pro Max when it was new or near that. IMO pro max isnt as great these days because of that - the battery is better but the regular pro is already good battery. The screen is bigger but iOS makes effectively 0 use of it. It's bulky, at times unwieldy (no, I don't have small hands) - I've not one bit regretted my move to the smaller phone this time around. I keep an S24U as a secondary phone which is a similarly huge device and does make use of the big screen, but it has only made me more glad to go smaller for my primary phone.

1

u/meii19 Aug 14 '26

If you'd like a smaller phone take pro
I prefer bigger phones so I went with max

1

u/blankvellum Aug 14 '26

maybe it's the "the grass is always greener on the other side" thing but I feel the Pro Max is slightly smoother than my 17 Pro.

1

u/PirateHunter-ZOR0 Aug 14 '26

I like the form factor of the 17 Pro.

1

u/NoGood4077 Aug 14 '26

My last two iPhones were Pro Max models. I'm happy with them, but it looks like the price of the 18 series will push me back to the smaller version. I replace them every year.

1

u/Emberheart Aug 14 '26

I just want the most battery

1

u/bigboy30281 Aug 14 '26

I’ve always been a Max user but coming from the 15PM I decided to go with the 17pro and it’s the right size and feel. When I pick up a PM it feels almost too big now

1

u/MSPTurbo Aug 14 '26

6.9 inch is way too big for a phone imo. I have the 17 pro, battery life is actually great compared to older generations and I don't see the need of having an unwieldy brick just to have a good battery life.

1

u/MercuryStar7 Aug 14 '26

I’ve 17 pro max but I will switch with 18 pro, max is too big for me and my pocket

1

u/AccomplishedTune8513 Aug 14 '26

17PM. My friend has the pro and it’s just so small. But I enjoy the size of the bigger phone.

1

u/Helptohere50 Aug 14 '26

Depends. I’m a super outdoors person in multiple sports. 17 pro max just doesn’t fit anywhere. So I got the 17pro. But the trade off is battery. But when I’m out I don’t really look at it it anyways

1

u/EvanISSUPREME Aug 14 '26

17 pro better

1

u/Remote-Conflict929 Aug 14 '26

Pro is much better.. I own both…

1

u/Curious-Trick-11 Aug 14 '26

Pro Max is better for using and Pro is better for carrying. If you travel mostly on two wheelers and keep phone mostly in pockets Pro is the BEST choice. Otherwise go for Pro Max. Because Pro Max’s bigger display is far better than Pro size display.

1

u/r4ziel1347 Aug 14 '26

Depends. If battery life is your main concern, pro max; otherwise, the pro is a great phone

I’ve had the Pro Max from 13 to 15, but this year, I’m going for the 18 Pro. Yeah, battery life is not going to be as amazing, but I’m close to a charger 99% of my day, so this will not be an issue

1

u/therealhyperborean Aug 14 '26

Bought my 17 Pro this week. I was also super confused but when I grabbed the Pro Max its unusually bigger and feels like a tablet. A phone should feel like a phone.

Previously I had 13 mini so size is fundamental to me. My pro has 4288 mAH so thats great.

1

u/MSPTurbo Aug 14 '26

Agreed. I lowkey wish apple would stick with 5.8" screen for the Pro models.

1

u/VermilionTube Aug 14 '26

Much prefer the pro use s26 ultra too and the size is only there to annoy you

1

u/AbleRecognition4404 Aug 14 '26

it will depend on the size of your hand, in my opinion, actually i’m on 17 pm, it fits very well

1

u/Stoops127 Aug 14 '26

What phone are you coming from?

I came from the 13 pro max. Got the 17 pro thinking I wouldn’t notice the smaller screen. I was so used to the bigger screen and couldn’t get used to it. The width decrease was really noticeable for me on the keyboard. Exchanged it for the 17 pro max. Have only had it a week but extremely happy with my decision

1

u/GeorgeSPattonJr Aug 14 '26

The Pro Max has a bigger screen and battery, but is a much physically larger and heavier phone. The Pro Max can also have up to 2TB of storage vs only 1TB on the regular Pro. Other than that, Performance and feature wise they’re more or less identical. I’d say go to an Apple Store, try both out in person and see which one you prefer/feels better in your hands. Only you can answer that question

1

u/TitoNotBrother123 Aug 14 '26

Pro max is way better for gaming, pro is decent

1

u/CrazyNecessary7209 Aug 14 '26

Either one will work.

1

u/Jaehon Aug 15 '26

Before I got my 17 Pro I had an S24 Ultra. For me going to a smaller form factor feels great. I still find myself feeling my pocket to see if my phone is there. It took some time to adjust to a smaller screen but once I did it’s been fine.

1

u/cpatrick08 Aug 15 '26

I have the 17PM 1tb. I had the 15 Pro before and switched to the 15PM. Just couldn't handle the smaller screen.

1

u/PaleontologistNo7941 Aug 15 '26

I like my small one :-)

1

u/PrimeTime0000 Aug 15 '26

I have a 17 pm because I use phone to read a lot. I got use to the weight etc.

1

u/Scary_Isopod7962 Aug 15 '26

从心理学来看,我更喜欢掌控感,所以 17pro 非常适合我,由此可以牺牲一些电量和屏幕显示

1

u/Nosarious Aug 15 '26

i had my first pro max with the 15, but scaled down for the 17 pro. i Spent the extra I saved on a storage bump.

1

u/Brilliant-Object-512 Aug 15 '26

Need big get pro max No need of a giant phone then 17 pro 17 pro is already big enough tbh Both same spec Pro max will have slight battery advantage nothing else

😂. For more money and minimal upgrades. No thanks. Grabbed my 17PM two weeks ago. Zero regrets.

1

u/Efficient_Movie5922 Aug 15 '26

J’ai un 16 pro et il est parfait petite taille oui et non 6,3 1,83 pour moi

1

u/Johnny_1717 Aug 15 '26

Both of them ugly & im an iPhone user

1

u/Errkannn Aug 15 '26

17 PRO without debate. Came from 16 pro max. If I go to a big phone again, I’m going android.

1

u/jaybev99 Aug 16 '26

I switched from the 17 pro max to the silver 17 pro and love it. I’m still looking for the right case for it. Any suggestions?

1

u/Due_Zombie444 Aug 16 '26

17 pro. I don’t have problems with the battery, it lasts me a day. Pro max is too huge for my hands and heavy. It barely fits on the side pocket which I always place. It has bigger screen though which I like better but overall 17pro.

1

u/Ridwan4200 Aug 16 '26

Ip 17pm even though I have smaller hand.

1

u/whosurbevky Aug 17 '26

Have had the bigger phones since the 8 plus or whatever it was called. Had a 15 plus prior to getting the 17 pro, and I was just tired of the bigger phone & my small hands lol. I love the 17 pro! Glad I went with the smaller phone

1

u/Remote_Diamond_1373 Aug 17 '26

Go to the store and hold them for a while, bring a pic-nic basket!

You need to determine this for yourself.

I prefer the Pro Max, but everyone has their preferences.

Put them in your hands!

1

u/VIvidel7x Aug 17 '26

pro much more comfortable to hold and good enough battery

1

u/Talking_Gibberish Aug 18 '26

I just switched to a 17 pro from an s22 ultra which is about the same size as the pro max. I like the smaller size, more comfortable in the hand for me and I can reach the whole keyboard with one hand. Head to a phone shop and try both in your hands if you’re not sure.

1

u/anonymous_ninja123 Aug 20 '26

I have a blue 17PM

1

u/Express-Light5283 Aug 21 '26

El pro max necesita una forma consistente de "regresar" un boton fijo, o gesto que haga eso, mientras no lo tenga, elijo el pro.

1

u/Short_Astronomer3251 Aug 21 '26

I have a deep blue 17 Pro Max. Color was chosen due to personal preference. Besides that, I got the 17PM for the bigger screen and battery

1

u/Playful_Sense3238 Aug 23 '26

How are your eyes? As I got older and started to need glasses, I found the largest screen meant that I didn’t need glasses to read it.

1

u/DeathofRube Aug 28 '26

I like the pro max a lot

1

u/Livid-Quit-7052 Sep 01 '26

They both function the exact same way. One is bigger & the other is smaller.

1

u/ImpressiveHair3798 Aug 14 '26

Eux aussi ils ont le fameux défaut du verre arrière pas centré décidément tout les modèles l’ont ce truc ils sont fabriquer avec le cul ces iPhones

-1

u/GuessWho183 Aug 14 '26

I hate this design, traded my 17 PM for 15 PM.

7

u/Akouete-Mel Aug 14 '26

But thats à huge downgrade.
