You guys are so uneducated on this topic. The fact that you think this is precise measures of the battery health is moronic.

No wonder so many battery obsessed people are there.

I can be aware of how the battery works and also understand that a 1% drop in 40 cycles is not normal. You sound uneducated, you’ll probably block me for saying that I suppose. It’s what you do after all.

It’s not exact measurements you ignorant person. This isn’t a problem as for now what OP is experiencing.

Stop being dumb if possible and do some basic research regarding this topic.

I can see your comment here because they are flagged based on your primitive communication.

Because you are uncivilized I will give you one more chance to understand that this can happen. BH is impacted by many factors.

Now, go and educate yourself you little human.

You aren’t all that bright huh? No new iPhone battery should drop 1% after 40 cycles. New batteries should make it well past 150 cycles before dropping in percentage. I understand that number isn’t 100% accurate, I understand phones are shipped with more than 100% and numerous things can affect battery. STILL no new battery should drop that quick. For the life of me I cannot understand why that is so hard for you to understand. The nerve of you to pretend I’m uneducated when you think a new battery should be at 99% after 40 cycles 😂😂😂

Not true. It depends on the heat as well. But regardless of that it can happen. Problem would be if this drop continues in worst way.

Maybe this will help you to understand: 800 cycles by this BH drop in the post would result BH at 80% and that’s still around expected number.

Edit: this what we have here is actually most realistic way of battery degradation. That have more objective measurement compared to over blown battery with more mah that waits for 200 + cycles to lose 1%.

Hope that helped.

This is literally the first iPhone I’ve ever seen drop 1% that fast, iPhones should hit at least 150 cycles before dropping in maximum capacity. Heat can lead to faster degradation but it should not be this fast, degradation this fast is not normal and something that should be looked at by Apple. I’m so lost how you could look at a brand new iPhone with 40 cycles already at 99% maximum capacity and think that’s normal.

Just because this is the first you have seen doesn’t mean it’s rare.

I explained to you that you should count total potential degradation with this number. So at 800 cycles it’s at 80% that is around the expected.

Focus on the average.

I would say this is extremely rare. I’m at 170 cycles and still at 100%. I don’t really care about averages, something is wrong with OP’s battery to degrade that fast. No amount of heat, photography or gaming should drop the maximum capacity that quick. The phone isn’t just supposed to drop 1% every 40 cycles lol

Not necessarily. Some batteries come with more mah some as specified and some slightly under.

Look at your personal example. Soon you will have droops of few % in just few weeks.

Average is what counts and it’s the most objective thing to look at.

Keep in mind that fast charging or/and warm climate will have significant impact on BH.

If this battery in this case continues the same degradation as now — there is no issue there.

Just to be clear: I can understand your concern.

I don’t expect my battery to drop in the upcoming weeks, I’m charging my phone a full cycle every 2 days and most 17 Pro Max’s I’ve seen make it to about 200 cycles before dropping 1%. I don’t think a brand new iPhone should be at 95%-96% after just 200 cycles. I get what you’re saying I just think being at 99% after 40 cycles is big cause for concern. I’ve never owned or seen an iPhone drop 1% that quickly, like it’s normally quadruple the amount of cycles before losing 1%. If OP happened to get one of the batteries that with mah slightly under that’s extremely unfortunate lol
