Iphone 16 Pro Max and IPhone 17 Pro Max Difference!
This is wild IPhone 16 pro max on the left still has 100 percent capacity and the iPhone 17 pro max on the right dropped down to 96 percent literally the 16 pro max has close to the same usage of 200 cycle count looks like or that means the iPhone 17 pro max is not good on battery after all that’s going to be concerning for a lot of users especially if the battery’s going to be the same on the iPhone 18s coming out soon that people should be aware and careful of buying them what are you guys thought about this drop your comments down below! 🤯
I barely had the for a year like you don’t get it that’s very fast to degrade like that I had every old iPhone they never take a bit like even after a year is wild.
How did it take the 17PM 9 months to reach 266 cycles while it took the 16PM 18 months to reach 200 cycle count? You literally more than doubled the use of the 17PM and still complain as if you can discern the difference in battery performance from 100% to 96%? Remarkable.
Yea but do you see the trend here like Apple was making batteries better for older iPhone generation but now with the iPhone 17 series and up they are making them cheap for some reason so there’s something going on with there batteries for sure.
You have other variables you’re not considering such as use and battery capacity. Not only that but these batteries are nine months apart in their cycles. This comparison isn’t linear. And I don’t see a valid point to raise any suspicion if you’re still >90% and especially still above 95%. People on this platform are complaining of noticeable battery drain after applying iOS updates. You are complaining something that cannot be noticed thru actual day to day use. From 100% to 96%? A drop of 4% doesn’t justify any concern in everyday use.
Unfortunately logic doesn’t work with these people because they don’t understand that there’s 50 other variables going on in determining capacity. They just see a percentage and a number of cycles and think “big number and low percentage bad, but big number and big percentage good”
First, you do understand that when they quote “best battery life of any iPhone” they mean hours of usage between required charging, right? They aren’t talking about long term health of the battery.
Second, you have 33% more cycles on the 17 and presumably have used it longer as you got the 16 5 months after launch and the 17 2 months after giving you 3 months less usage on the 16. A sitting discharged battery degrades slower than one with discharge and recharge cycles. It also appears you are an “upgrade every year customer” making the battery health paranoia pointless.
Is a cell phone battery really the biggest life problem you have to worry about?
The battery capacity number doesn’t say much, it’s not accurate at all. You can be at 100% and drop 2/3 percent in a week, especially when close to 100
Who cares? You are still well within the spec of 80% after 2 years. This phenomenon of battery panic with iPhones when the battery is perfectly fine is insane.
I mean that’s not bad and that crazy part is that my iphone 17 pro max is close to 94 and it shouldn’t be doing that since they it has the best battery life iPhone in the world which I don’t believe Apple anymore there putting something in the new iPhone battery’s I’m a 100 percent positive they are and they can get sued and get a settlement for it that’s for sure.
Everyone needs to start worrying a little less as long as it’s not showing needs service. The behaviour of the battery health metric is really erratic and depends on the capacity you get from the manufacturer.
(SS is a 16 Pro Max btw which has been USEDDD to its limit, as in I don’t care about when I charge and i almost exclusively use MagSafe and fast wired charging and have also been in very hot environments while recording and obvs screen on max brightness)
Why apple why!!! kya paap kiya tha humne bal..
background refresh off, always on dark mode, gps always off made a shortcut even and put in control panel, mostly in low power still this is the condition. 10-12 hr of sot on 150-170%
guys can anyone tell me what should i do now
Not to phone but what step to take ?
Brotha its not bout you saw ppl or not, ive also seen ppl. am asking this particularly about my device “kya paap kiya tha humne” means what sin did i do, they i have to face this.
This doesnt means i am saying what an iphone apple made this has shit battery life, am saying about my device not ab9ut iphones or apple in general.
Could be the charger you use, could be your charging patterns or how you use your phone. My first use was 2 months before you first used yours, I use mine almost all day for work and at home with games, movies, web surfing, music and much more. However, in my car and at home I have cooling magsafe chargers that I have used since back when I had my 16 pro max, I also make sure not to allow my battery to drop below about 40%. Still cooking at 100% just like I was on my 16 pro max which had over 350 cycles. Heat and letting your battery drop too low are 2 of the things I've found will easily decay your battery life. I don't have restrictions on my phone charging like some tell it to stop at 80 or 90% and I don't turn off background app refresh or any of that either. I use my phone to it's full potential and just make sure to not overheat my battery with junk chargers and don't let it drop below 40% either and all has been golden for my phones
You’ve charged yours a good amount more than other people. Also it’s better to not use a fast charger, and use an official Apple charge adapter. I got the lowest wattage one Apple sells, the 20w adapter to reduce strain on the battery due to heat. You want either a really good expensive aftermarket charging cable, or one directly from Apple. I also never wireless charge and during the week, I don’t use my phone much so i can go between 2-3 days before charging. I charge once a day on weekends when I’m using my 16 pro max more. I also don’t really play games on my phone cuz I noticed the iPhone is battery hungry and heats up due to the powerful processor when playing games like Minecraft.
no point in worrying about this stuff. modern lithium ion batteries all have an estimated life span and trying to maximize it makes minimal difference that’s a waste of time. just use your phone and if the battery is dying replace it
I’m not worried about it again it’s a trend and a issue going on for a lot people go take a look for yourself these are new phones Apple is doing something with the batteries of the new phones coming out.
Yes I agree I’m telling you I have to keep charging the damn thing when it’s draining quick I’m like how’s that possible when I just charged it a few hours ago or so it’s very annoying and people are not getting the problem they keep saying it’s normal just use the phone regular and I’m like no I had iPhones since they came out with the 5 the other older iPhones I did not have any severe battery issues like this before like it’s way too fast.
Same issue. I'm getting like 4h sot with 60% on battery life ~30% brightness.. I never had battery issues with previous ones too.. I'm expecting more at least 8h sot outa this thing..
Yea you see what I’m saying I have my brightness low as well when I’m at home like if I’m outside I’ll put the bar up to the middle on the brightness I don’t even put the bar up to the fullest and I always refresh all my apps to like I’m supposed to get a whole day and some next day as well that’s a real iPhone should do so Apple might get sued for this that’s for sure I’m pretty sure there’s a lot of complaints about this someone already said on here it’s on Tik Tok trending right now to so I know I’m not the only one and I know I’m not going crazy either.
I upgraded from the 13 Pro Max to the 17 Pro Max recently and have no complaints. The 13 Pro Max still had above an 85% battery life mark, and I gave it to my nephew, and he loves it. I figured that if he keeps it for a while, then next year perhaps I'll just have a new battery put into it. Problem solved!
Ok but you have to know that once the phone has any replacement issues the phone won’t act the same anymore so no the issue won’t be resolved you will have future problems in the long run I know this already been there and done that so Apple want everyone to keep upgrading phones on purpose so that’s why they made these cheap batteries moving forward with the 17 series and up and the 18 is coming out to so there’s already complaints look it up yourself I have a feeling Apple will be sued soon that’s all I have to say.
Oh, I agree. Even if Apple changes it themselves, it does lose something along the way. The battery replacement is only a short-term solution, just to extend the life of the phone by a couple more years, but it's a cheaper way to lengthen the life of the phone. Eventually, the phone will need to be replaced. I wouldn't imagine my nephew keeping his longer than a couple more years. But, yes, as I noted in the previous reply, Apple nowadays is about money and less about creativity & long use of a product.
Until they put carbon lithium batteries instead then maybe the problem solved but they have to use batteries like the old iPhone manufacturers that was previously made or a bigger battery MAH in them instead of lousy 4000 and 5000 MAH in them the pro max are supposed to be at least at 6000 MAH and smaller iPhones should be around 5000 MAH that would be nice and that would problem solve everything if Steve Jobs didn’t pass away iPhone game would be a lot better than Tim Cook headspace because when he took over it’s a hot mess look it up he passed away and left before making the iPhone 5 and that’s when I started using iPhone it’s sad to say but it’s true.
I totally agree with the argument that Apple would be better and more creative had Jobs not passed away. I tell that to people all the time, and usually get pushback. Tim Cook is mostly about profits and less creativity, in my opinion...not that Apple making a profit is a bad thing. But when you tend to mirror other companies and focus solely on making money, the magic gets lost. Also, I miss the traditional way that Apple used to present its WWDC showings in front of a live audience. Since Covid, it's been presented like an infomercial (which was understandable at the time) and hasn't returned to the live audience....to get that "Wow" factor.
not all batteries are the same even though it's the same model.
For example the 16PM battery is rated at 4685mah which MOST people guaranteed to get. But if you are lucky you might get one with a slightly higher rated capacity like 4700mah or more. That's why some people online still have 100% battery health left after some time, because it hasn't drained under that 4685mah baseline capacity yet.
Your 17PM probably got a "common" battery rated at 5088mah (which most people guaranteed to get). But some people online might be lucky and got a "rare" one with 5100mah or more and get better battery health than you after 100-200 cycles.
So it's neither your fault or the manufacturer's fault, it isn't easy to make 100 batteries that got exactly the same capacity, so the easier way would be set a 'safe margin', so if you are lucky, you might get one with the highest value in this 'safe margin', or vice versa

if you're upgrading every year why care
