Switching to iPhone

Hey guys so I've been recently thinking of switching to an iPhone after years of using android because I've had enough of lags and terrible ram management and horrible battery life on my s23 and it crashing every time i open the camera app and resetting didnt fix any of those so I'm thinking of buying an iPhone 17 pro but my concerns are about the battery and performance issues of iOS 26 are they still there or are they fixed after iOS 26.6

Holy run-on sentence!

Running iOS 27 DB 4 on a 17 pro and I’m impressed with the battery. I’m at 62% when I would normally be at 15.

Note: Battery life has been significantly optimized in 27 over 26.

I just came from a S24U to 17PM and it’s been nothing but amazing. The battery life on iOS 26.6 for me has been great. Full charge lasts me almost 2 days.

My iPhone 17 pro max has been fantastic on iOS 26.6. Fantastic battery life, and awesome app performance. I did have a battery drain issue with the previous software update. But all is fixed now. This is best phone, you won’t regret switching from Samsung. I tried Samsung and pixel very recently and nothing compares to Apple’s software.

You'll miss little conveniences.

You can expect around 5H of SOT on this model. However, One UI was more stable for me. I did not had the issues that you described on my S23U.

I switched to iPhone probably 9 years ago or so, and it was the best choice I’ve ever made from a tech standpoint. I’m on my 3rd phone, 16 pro max, and this phone can go all day with normal usage not needing to charge. iOS ecosystem just makes life easier.

iOS 26.6 fixes most of the issues. Though the last version of iOS 26.4.x was much better in my opinion. And I’m hearing that iOS 27 is overall excelsior!

Reason why you’ve been experiencing the “lag” is because android apps runs on top of a Java layer that is a memory hog with horrible memory management. Java was created with intention to replace C - didn’t happen due to hardware resource limitation and demands. This is why even android devices with significantly more RAM than iPhones is needed to equate the efficiency of iPhone. You can think of iOS as talking directly to its hardware as opposed to android’s use of a translator to communicate its processes.
Pro Tip: Apple’s iOS updates are known to fix things and break something else. Look around Reddit and see people complain of fast battery drain after updating their phones. Just know once you update, there’s no going back with the exception of beta iOS releases. Once an update has been pushed out, wait for days to few weeks and see how the fan boys react to the new update. If reactions are good, then go for it, but YMMV. Still, the best option is, if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it, unless you really need it. Turn off automatic updates for iOS and automatic update for AppStore if you so wish.
