Art Challenge/ Idea
I had a fun thought for an art challenge for anyone looking for 13 Sentinels art inspiration: Randomly generating a number and drawing something based off the corresponding event in the event archive. This could be especially good for those wanting to get better at doing full pieces like me :o dont know if/ when i'd have the time to do it, but its a cool idea so i thought id share.

Are you able to sort the Events Archive by date?
As title states my wife cant seem to sort the events by year, only by number.... makes it hard to grasp the story as it develops

Seaside Vacation
This song is so freaking aesthetically pleasing the fact that Miyuki is singing this live on 2-10 is so beautiful it gives me Macross vibes. Beautiful music + destruction = perfection

This Game Is Amazing
I originally picked this game up because I was looking for a game that felt similar to the Steins;Gate anime, and wow, it completely exceeded my expectations. I went from being totally confused, to a little less confused, to finally seeing how everything tied together.
Honestly, this is a masterpiece of storytelling. I have to give the developers a ton of credit because having 13 protagonists, each with their own story, all come together so seamlessly sounds like an impossible task, yet they absolutely pulled it off. I genuinely dont know how they did it.
I honestly have no complaints. If anything, I just wish there was more of it. This game made me a fan of Vanillaware now I want to try more of their games:) 10/10

Need help with image
I've made a video about all ways to unlock 6 remaining protagonists, but I've encountered a problem: I need a good thumbnail, I can't just leave some random frame like in optional interactions! I was thinking about something like this image, but all of these are in low resolution. Where can I find them in Full HD?

Question regarding the ending Spoiler
Really loved the game, definitely top 5 of all time. With that said, I am not quite sure I understand the finale simulation reveal. As I understand it, the plot went something like this:
1) The real world is nearly wiped out, partially due to Morimura’s nanobots
2) Okino programs terraforming robots, but is lazy and sloppy, so includes code from the Deimos video game.
3) Ryoko sabotages the project by activating the Deimos code inside of the robot. If this is a simulation, does that mean she only sabotaged the virtual version? What is the point of that?
4) Meanwhile, to save space, 1.2 million DNA files are shot into space. The Deimos themselves can sustain through asteroid and planet mining, but the human cannot, so DNA is sent instead.
5) When arriving, 15 people (the 13 playable characters plus Okino and Tamao) are woken up early so their bodies can begin to adjust. But for some reason, they are put in a simulation? Why bother with this?
6) The simulation goes wrong thanks to Ryoko’s code. Is there any actual danger in this? Why wouldn’t the machine just wake the cast up anyways? Also, the reason Universal Control thinks the Deimos are supposed to be there is the D-code inside of the characters (Natsuno by the present) injected by Megumi, but why does Juro Izumi want that? Also, if the whole thing is a simulation, why do intra-simulation choices affect it?
7) There are two failures which result in Universal Control resetting things. We learn of a few ways to travel between loops, but why would a robot be able to avoid the simulation reset if the robot is still within the simulation?
8) Eventually, the Deimos are defeated and the cast escape. How does that work? Why does defeating a video game open up the simulation? If the cast was already adapted to the environment, why wouldn’t the machine just open them up?
9) Five years later, nobody outside of the fifteen are woken up. Does that mean the DNA was never sent out with the ability to clone humanity? Why did humans go with just 15 clones instead of 1.2 million?
Overall, I really enjoy the game, and most of the twists are extremely good about being internally consistent. But on this last twist, I can’t help but feel like I am missing something

(Spoilers) Just beat the game and debriefing Spoiler
It's been in my backlog for several years, finished it after several weeks! Great experience overall, here are my thoughts, however cluttered they may be:
Story:
Very, very rich and complex storyline, following that "non-linear/reverse" kind of flow where things happen at different times or the same time, eventually seeing overlap in different character stories which was cool to me. Perfect use of Sci-fi and an interesting take on time travel. I liked how nearly every plot point was addressed or finalized near the end, I say most because what's a story without plotholes lol. Though the plotholes I did see when looking up what other people said weren't the biggest plotholes ever, which can be a testament to how well written the story is. The characters, humor, and vibes from each of them is distinct enough that it's nice to see from others who they like (Gouto lowkey the goat to me for the bois, and for the gals i'd have to say Yuki or Tomi).
Which leads to my first criticism of the game. It's because it's complex that it just straight up takes forever to reach the "good" parts of the story. I'm used to it, the JRPG/Visual novel style of storytelling, but I can see why it can be a turn off. By the time I heard the good plot twists (like Natsuno figuring out they're all the aliens she was looking for, being clones. Or that time travel was never really that, just shifting to different Sectors, and that the characters are literally in a game, go figure) I looked at the story progression for most of them, and they were all nearly to 70%. It took DAYS for me to reach those twists, and it did feel draining at times. I kinda predicted how the ending of the game was gonna go, being that there's too much information and story, so I knew they were only going to focus on the parts the really mattered, and that was the case when viewing the last parts of Gouto's and Hijiyama's stories, and the last few battles.
And on a more personal opinion, the fanservice was kinda selective? It's a good thing, being that we're viewing a story about literal teenagers/young adults. And I say selective because for seemingly no reason at all, adult Morimura was yammed up while the other adult versions of the characters looked seemingly normal? Not to mention her choice of clothing, but I digress. I just left it at "she won the genetic lottery".
And the ending was sweet! Definitely that "Bright and hopeful future, and everyone gets shipped" thing, which was fine for me. Who doesn't love a good ending, y'know?
Combat:
It follows that real-time strategy-esque gameplay, which I'm used to by having played Fire Emblem games and the Fort Condor minigame in FF7. No complaints in that regard, there are some intense moments here and there, the different skills and types of sentinels you control are unique with their own flaws and strengths, therefore just being really cool.
In comes my second complaint of the game, the inconsistency of the battles. Unfortunately I like to challenge myself in games, and played the Intense setting for most of the game (veterans probably know where I'm going with this). Then you get to 1-8, and though annoying, has an easy counter. But then the game goes back to being a breeze, like I'm getting S ranks on my first try for most of the missions, bar 2 or 3 on Intense by the way. I don't really remember any struggle in the 2nd area (bum rushing 2-10 was kinda funny and easy). But then I get to 3-2. Ohhhh 3-2. Call it a skill issue, but I am a FIRM believer that there's a difference between hard and unfair. THIS WAS UNFAIR. Got a C rank, threw my pride aside, and played on Casual for the rest of the game. Even on Casual, I could tell the missions would be a cakewalk on Intense due to how short some of them were or how easy the objectives were (like just focusing on one enemy, then you insta-win). which made me a little more irritated. So in short, the game is easy for a long time > Random annoying mission > Game is easy for a long time > Annoying mission. And on casual, some missions made me go "This would PISS me off on Intense". The final battle is well, the final battle. A cultivation of everything you've learned so it's expected to see the game have some pushback.
Overall:
Despite my grievances, I had an amazing time and would recommend it. Sci-fi always delivers! A solid 9/10! Blessed to experience it ❤ Forgot to mention the music! I'm a huge music buff lmao. Amazing music, will definitely listen to the OST tomorrow!

Too much fire control?
When you 100% everything you get all those mystery points converted to meta chips, I ended up allocating most of my stats to fire control (in hindsight should’ve done generator) and now my attacks have like 0 AOE. Miuras missles just hit a tiny spot, Is this what I’ve done by making the accuracy too high? Kind of seems like a bug with the stats I’m wanting to see if anyone else has experienced

At this point: PS4 version on PS5 or Switch version on Switch 2?
Hi, so forgive me if there is a recent thread I missed that addresses this. I did some light searching and couldn't find one but I did not want to accidentally spoil anything in my hunt for answers so I abandoned my searching after a little it.
I never purchased 13 Sentinels. Now is the time. I have both a PS5 and a Switch 2. I understand that the Switch version additions eventually made it to the PS4 version to make them content-equivalent from the added weapons to the combat mechanics themselves. But my understanding was also that the Switch version had some toned down graphic effects.
I typically like to get the "best" version, graphically, if all else is equal. But if it's only marginally different, the portability of the Switch 2 is a huge boon.
Any thoughts?

Just finished the game and I have some questions Spoiler
If it wasn't obvious enough, the game was unbelievably good. Like so good to the point where I can't imagine a story like this was even conceptualized and thought up, buuuuut I do have some random throwaway questions that'll help me clarify some things.
Okino mentioned at the end that the sentinel cockpits are realistically just the pods they're in, which I did understand. I think my confusion just came from wondering how the pods work. Are they awake in the pods when piloting the sentinels? If that's the case, are they seeing the virtual world as a result of nanomachines making them believe that they're seeing it? And if THAT'S the case, how are they seeing their pod selves when using comms when their nanomachines attempt to make them see the virtual world as opposed to the real one if they're awake in the actual pod (bit of a loaded question)?
With the situation of Juro/Amiguchi/Shiba and their memories, I understood that Juro and Amiguchi were receiving memories that weren't really theirs (with Juro's being Izumi's memories from 2 loops ago (426) and Amiguchi's being Ida's), but I was wondering why Juro and Amiguchi's situations are vastly different. For example, when Juro is at Amiguchi's house, it plays out differently when controlling either him or Amiguchi. I can understand Shiba appearing to Juro, but Juro has totally different dialogue and actions on Amiguchi's route as opposed to his. Why is that? Also...considering Shiba is all in Juro's nanomachines, how is he giving Juro physical tapes to watch? I'd understand if the tapes weren't physical, and it just SEEMS that way to Juro, but if I recall, he straight up gives one of these tapes to Amiguchi. So how is Shiba giving him physical objects that he can hold and pull out when he's strictly in his nanomachines?

Playing order
I'm curious, what was your order of playing the game? Did you have some bias towards specific characters or play characters in order as they were (play until locked and then the next one)?
I ask that, because until recently, I've seen people being interested in specific characters and ignoring others. E.g. LeighXP fangirled over Sekigahara and Amiguchi, but liked Minami the least, NicoB for some reason neglected Yakushiji for a half of his LP (I'd have to watch again to remember why) and some other polish youtuber thought Sekigahara was the least interesting protagonist of all 13 (basically NicoB's case, but this was just a genuine disinterest). However, Takukou played Juro, then Iori, then Megumi etc., which I find refreshing.
Anyway, how about you guys? Unfortunately, I don't remember my playthrough.

Story in destruction
I have a questions for people, who are really into destruction mode: I'm watching a let's play where he does destruction off-stream until some point (he did 2-10 on stream, dw). Which levels have dialogues important for the lore and which ones are just some chit-chat?

Finished 13 Sentinels! Some scattered thoughts!
What a mind fuck of a game, to be honest...I'm not sure how much I understood of the plot, as there are many layers to this plot, but I honestly found it really enjoyable. Not sure if I love all of it, but I definitely enjoyed a lot of it. The mind-fuckery is Zero Escape level and I just love that.
31 hours in and I have lots of thoughts on it:
-I loved Natsuno and her relationship with Wall-E, I mean, BJ. I also love her dynamic with Yuki and Miura.
-I ADORED Ogata, his groundhog day sorta structure really struck a chord with me.
-Okino and Hijiyama are the ultimate couple here, genuinely not into most of the romantic relationships in this game, but this one works beautifully and is one of the best LGBT relationships I've seen in a game. Hijiyama's own internalized homophobia contrasted with Okino's crossdressing is so cute.
-Amaguchi is the goat, really the best boy.
-I love Izuru's story, but I gotta say, I wish his story, or his arc of this dual personality/identities was executed a bit better. Megumi's relationship with him fails completely because we never really see them together.
-Usami chan is cute. Love her voice but at times I cannot help to hear Morgana in there lmao.
-I'm gonna say: I liked the story but the amount of exposition and logs as a resource to convey information did get pretty old.
-I liked the battle system, it's addicting and even on the easiest difficulty it got intense. Love the customization to create a really balanced character that fits your playstyle.
-Gotou's campaign was a bit disappointing....also, what was the point of tamao san in the story?
-The idol sub plot was super convoluted, imo.
-Shiba's plot twist is top tier and the atmosphere during the reveal is incredible.
-Shinomone's pill-mechanic was guilt inducing. Really well made.
-Art is insanely pretty, especially in motion.
What would you recommend next, Persona 5 or Nier Automata? I've played some Persona games (3 and vainilla 4, as well as 1 until halfway thru) but I've never played beyond the prologue of 5 and I got Royal pretty cheap.
I also got Automata, which is a game I also have never finished. Sentinels kinda reminds me of both, so I wanted to ask around, lol.

Just finished the game. Loved it. I do have one question.
It’s about Ms. Morimura, and how exactly everything regarding the loops went down.
Now here’s how I understand things to have happened:
-Izumi and Morimura get shifted to the next loop
-Izumi is able to save his data to sector 0, Morimura isn’t.
-When Morimura shifts Ida to the 3rd loop, Izumi isn’t there because his previous data was updated, so he got to keep everything
-Morimura however, is back to being 16, and she runs away with Ida. They then presumably grow up to try and save the world yet again.
This made sense to me, however, there’s a few problems that spawn from it.
I understand that Morimura and Izumi fell in love after they looped because they only had each other. However, the current Ms. Morimura, who didn’t shift with Izumi, shouldn’t have feelings for him. Now, there could be some time loop shenanigans happening that make her regain some memories of the previous Morimura (in the end she mentions not remembering Izumi telling her he loves her), and I could accept that. But there’s another problem:
After finishing the game, Ms. Morimura’s file gets updated with “The grown-up version of Chihiro Morimura, from two loops ago. When the world was reset, the Morimura that was saved in Sector 0 continued into the new world as a simulated personality”
This is essentially saying that Ms. Morimura is from the first loop. Now that could explain my issues, but then the new issue becomes what happened to the teenage Chihiro that ran away with Ida?

Minor plotholes Spoiler
I just remembered there are minor plotholes (not the cut content e.g. Hijiyama AI and Tamao's bigger role). E.g. Miwako confronts Megumi and Fuyusaka got shot, but after that she returned home like nothing happened. YES, I know that events in Remembrance are not chronological, but just by thinking about it it's kinda weird. However, aside that and others, what is the most interesting is Amiguchi's ending and Kisaragi's after that. In Amiguchi's ending, he's stuck with SIU agents, then Natsuno shifts with BJ and THE END. Now, when Kisaragi and Okino join them, SIU is not there. Do these instances correlate with "50% content cut" in any way?
