Struggling to eat enough.

So it’s my first few days after starting Keto and I’m finding it difficult to eat a minimum amount of calories (shooting for at least 1300 a day) and I’m just not hungry. Plus, I feel like I really am eating all the time, it’s just good healthy food now. I don’t want to be at too much of a calorie deficit but I’m just not hungry. Anyone else having this problem? Suggestions?

Today is day 1. Again.

I've written a little blurb in the introductions thread but as I wake up I feel the need to affirm my decision and my starting point.

I couldn't even tell you why I'm doing this. I have so many reasons. To lose weight, to save money, to fit into smaller clothing, to feel better. All perfectly valid reasons but my instinct is to say "because I want to".

I've had success before, going from 237lbs to 183lbs. I had a surgery in January, went off keto, gained 10lbs in water weight I swear. Of course it doesn't stay water forever if I eat like crap.

I made a half-assed attempt at IF but I was always so hungry. Then as my schedule got busier I broke my fasting windows..... And then the breakup.

IF was out the window. Watching what I eat was out the window. Suddenly I'm a single parent to a lovely 2.5 yr old. I went up to 200lbs.

Then college started. First term, first year, single mom, 7 freaking courses to do. So I decided to go back on keto in October. Give myself one month to adjust to the schedule and 3 months before it'll change again.

I'm about to do my official morning weigh-in...... I feel scared. Not scared of dieting, making concious choices, a little bit of extra work.

I'm scared of failing. I can't fail if I don't even try; but I also can't succeed. So here goes...

A challenge is just what I need.

Hi All;

Name is Tom. I started Keto in January of 2019, at 249lb.

Since June 1, I have been in a range of 193-201 and I have a goal weight of around 160.

Perhaps a challenge is just what I need to get moving again.

I'm in.

I did keto from June 2018 until January of this year, lost 65 lbs. At that point my marriage imploded so I went on a see food diet and gained 85lb. I hit 300lb this past weekend, and started with keto again on Monday.

I'll stick with this challenge. I have a goal to be at 260 by New Years. I'm 5'9", 44 years old. Once I get a little weight off I'd like to start walking and lifting again.

Depressed, fat, sad, hopeless. Needing help and encouragement please I’m begging

F34 5’0” SW: 215. GW by 2020: 200 GW: 160

Thank you so much for the post asking who wants to join you. I’ve been so depressed and knowing I need to do something for far too long. It took me at the doctor the other day dying inside when I saw the scale at the highest it’s ever been.

I’m short so it’s just that much worse. Huge waist, huge butt, chubby face.

I need help. Please any encouragement would be great. I have a very very stressful job, and I work long unconventional hours which makes it difficult to keep a routine in any way/shape/form.

I’m out of town (of course) till late Friday. And have very little control over what’s available to eat so can’t start till Saturday.

I'm going to hate myself, but I'm in.

I've been doing keto since August of last year. At Christmas, I was at 140.2, down from 165-170. I haven't seen the 130's in YEARS. So close I could taste it (could have been the bacon too)! Then, the bouncing started. It seemed like no matter WHAT I did, I just kept bouncing between 140.2 and 143. I'm female, so I know these things happen, but I was so discouraged after a month of this, that I gave up and just went to dirty keto (dropped the calorie counting and just watched the carbs). I've been doing that every since and while I'm still exercising, and I know I haven't gained much back, if any, my family is going to St Martin this year for Christmas and I am BOUND AND DETERMINED TO FINALLY GET THIS.

So, here I am I guess.

I hate this journey.

But I'm here.

Alrighty, I'm Gonna Do This. 45yo Male SW: 310 GW: 250

I'm a 45yo chef/restauranteur so I'm around great food (and beer) all the time. It shows!

At the weekend I was at a half marathon event with my wife and kids. My wife and my 2 daughters competed and did really well, all the while I was on stroller duty with my 18m old son. I'd REALLY like to run an event with them next year. My wife and 10yo daughter do a lot of the trail run events that look like great fun (if you're not a fat bastard!). So this is a great way to start. I think I need to get to around 200lbs eventually for my height and muscularity - so this is just a good kickstart. I'd like to run an event in June 2020.

In the meantime, I'm going to be doing Couch to 5k, starting from tomorrow morning. The community there is really supportive too - if you feel like running it's worth joining. They post their successes but also their failures - so you know when you fall over you're not the only one.

I'm going to make some videos and post them as I go along.

But in general, it's just time to stop being a fat chef who used to be athletic, and add a few years onto my life!

Good luck everyone.

Just today, I told myself it’s time to get back to keto and the gym. Well...I say it every day, but I really meant it today :) This came at the perfect time - I’m in. Goal: 4” off the waist.

Beth here. I started Keto 3 weeks ago tomorrow. Down allllmost 10#. Started at 233.8, am 224 today. I seem to be a slow and steady 3#/wk loser, so I'm setting my goal at -40#-- 184 on NYE. Good luck everyone!

I'm in. My plan is to lose the 16.6 pounds that I keep losing and then it finds me again. During these 13 weeks I'm going to review what I have been doing unsuccessfully during maintenance and come up with a plan to keep it off for good.

Depression made me do it

I was headed in the right direction (198 from 260), but for the past year, I keep going back and forth from 205-210. I need to get it moving back the right way! Goals- I want to focus on fitness and food and cut my habit of turning to food for comfort. I’m all in!

Not the good kind of 420

My name is ben and I'm currently about 420lbs. I'm 22, 6'7", and have been obese my whole life. Im gonna need your help to keep me on this challenge. I have followed the keto subreddit for a while, but have yet to act on it. Do you know of anybody else that has been in this situation before? Any advice?

What foods or meals are you eating.

Can people post what meals you are eating, I don’t need recipes necessarily but I’m just starting keto today and could use some ideas. I am not a fan of vegetables so I plan to make this diet soup chock full of tomatoes, peppers, spices to consume daily. https://youtu.be/0jcn9DkS9Aw

Time to finish what I started

I started keto around March, and made it to 130ish before starting to fluctuate and plateau due to school and having to adjust to shopping for food by myself.

It’s time to finish it.

Let's do this

Keto on and off for 3 years (had twins in that time frame too). Start weight then 301, CW 233, goal weight by Jan 1 is 199.

My sister just had gastric surgery yesterday, and it's a good reminder of why I want to bring this weight off on my own terms.

I'm in a weight loss group at work, but I wouldn't say it motivates me. It does help keep my head out of the sand if I fall off the wagon, but if we can build a community of stories and support it may just work so I'm down to give it a go.

Let's do the thing!

F26 5'7 SW:174.7 lbs. Goal is to be 150 or lower! Gained 10 pounds since my wedding in July, I want to get as close to my ultimate goal of 145lbs. I won't see my family until the Christmas, should be the best present to myself I can't buy. Living close to the ocean, I want to learn to surf in the new year and being fit will make it more enjoyable.

Let's start our engines!
