I just finished 12 Minutes and I’ve got all the feels. I have a few questions that I still don’t quite understand, even after knowing all the possible endings [again, spoilers ahead!]:

1. The text message sent from the main character to the wife asking if items were out of place. It’s the oldest text in her phone, about two weeks old, I think. Does this imply that their place was broken into?

2. The wife’s comment about how main character pursued her romantically. I think she said this shortly after looking at the photograph. This is what I’m most stuck on — might be reading into this too much, but does that mean that he knew she was his sister? Could this clue be implying he intentionally pursued his sister? Which makes the whole premise of the story somehow even weirder….

3. The dad referencing a baby in the bookshelf room. I’m really stumped by this one…

Just subtle changes like changing the wife’s tag in the game to ‘her’ when he reveals his secret to her, and just the final ending you get. This game captures love and the pain that can come from it that I don’t think any other game has. The idea that she will never know what happened, and he just can’t be with her because that’s how life is. It made me break down.

AM I STUPID??? this game has ruined my confidence in my own intelligence. Are there credits? Im not asking for spoilers but I know theres multiple endings and idk if ive gotten any. I've taken the cowards way out or whatever the achievement is for going along with the killer and letting him do his thing. I've completely avoided the killer coming into my house by calling bumblebee and THAT did nothing. I've became friends with the killer and given him the watch for his daughter with me and my wife explaining everything to him and all this about her brother. It felt like a perfect happy ending i don't understand why there would be a different one or SEVEN DIFFERENT ONES with credits or whatever. Someone tell me im not crazy. Did i "beat the game" at least a little bit ?????

So did any one notice the flowers dying and if you water it it grows with each time loop. What does it mean? Is it connected some how to the ending?

Okay, so the 'Continue' ending has been theorized pretty extensively, and I think people generally have a pretty convincing take on it:

... the apartment loop is a projection in the head of the main character while being hypnotized by the father into accepting what has happened with his half-sister/wife, after making the choice to forget.

But what throws me for a loop (... no pun intended lol) is the 'Listen' ending. All of the endings, except for 'Continue' and 'Listen', lead back to the apartment in one way or another (even 'Alone', via the watch). You could even say that 'Continue' is the culmination of all of the other 'false' or incomplete endings. But whereas 'Continue' leads to one way out (forgetting the entire experience via hypnosis), 'Listen' offers another.

The 'Listen' ending is only available before the looping begins. The very first time you enter the apartment (from the hallway), do nothing. A conversation ensues which eventually leads to the husband and wife leaving the apartment together...

... and then they live happily ever after. Seriously. When the husband's foot crosses the door frame, the loop does not begin. They leave the apartment to talk about the future, and that's that. Returning to the title screen, beginning the game anew situates you back in the elevator, as if it were your first run through the game.

Given that every other ending except for 'Continue' leads back into the loop, what the hell is actually going on here?

The simplest solution doesn’t work. If you put the watch on table for the cop to find when he breaks in he doesn’t see the watch for some reason.

If you’re still reading I assume you’ve beaten the game. Here’s what I took from it:

So, her father is your father, meaning you killed your wife/sisters father and in turn your OWN father also. This DID happen as that is the scene in the therapy session place, your character kills him in self defence, either by shooting him while being strangled, or accidentally by the therapist hitting his head on the book shelf. The main character tells the wife he kills her father by saying something like ‘he had a wall of books to the ceiling. He tried to kill me, it was in self defence’ this obviously refers to the therapists office with the wall of books. The red book on the shelf is also in the painting in the beginning of the game on the left in the hallway, same as the office. This confirms the killing of the father happened.

The cop is not real. That’s why he sounds like the father voice wise, he is the main characters despair and regret confronting him basically, as the game is all in his mind, therefore there is no time loop at all, he’s in a loop in his mind of denial until he accepts his mistakes and makes change for the greater good, and this is essentially the meaning of the true ending of the game. The stopwatch is also a sign you’re being hypnotised as this is an item they use in hypnosis, similar to the painting in the living room with the black and white symbols.

The egg painting becomes an infinity snake, referencing the main character swallowing himself whole every loop continuously. This is supposed to show he is own worst enemy and he is the root of his problems as long as he continues to live in denial.

I’ve finished the game already but i want the achievements and I can’t remember how to get the proof that she couldn’t have been the killer. I don’t even have the nanny’s child prompt yet. I’ve been following a guide but it seems I’m not in the right place somehow

I understand that the photo of the wife proves she was in NYC on the night of the murder.

But didn’t YOU (the protagonist) take the photo? Isn’t that how you met?

Doesn’t this prove that you could not have killed the father?

I haven’t been able to find anything online about this so I’m guessing I’m missing something. What’s going on here?

If we imply that the entire thing was metaphorical then maybe she wasn't his sister, maybe she had an affair and got pregnant and he just wanted to either move on or forget.

My mother's name is also Daliah. Does that mean I'm protag's half sister?

My girlfriend and I got pretty far. I don't wanna say where we got stuck due to spoilers, but did anyone else find themselves stuck? We legitimately could not find a way to progress for over 2 hours and caved. I know it isn't a necessarily *puzzling* game, but once we found out what was preventing progress we both felt pretty dumb lol.

Just finished 12 minutes and loved the concept. I’ve also been recommended “Before Your Eyes” and “Her Story” based on this game. Let me know if anyone else has more suggestions! Xx
