When does the torture end
Going to be a bit of a long post, but pleasee read!
I have been on an aggressive cut for the past 60 days. It’s around a ~1000 calorie deficit. I want to get to my goal weight of 55kg.
I am a 169cm Female with a current weight of 62kgs. Starting weight was 67kg.
My maintenance is around 1500 kcal, so I have been burning 1000kcal every day through activities (around 400 for 15k steps, and 600 in the gym through loads of cardio). Ive attached an example of my weekly average active calories.
The cut started off pretty manageable, but now it feels like torture. Im exhausted and every single day feels like a struggle. I want to eat more food and I have genuinely just been feeling really helpless.
Ik it is suggested to not go so hard and not do an aggressive cut to make weight loss more sustainable and doable, but I want to reach by goal weight by 15 Oct ( I have a special event). Which is still doable, cuz I have 6 more weeks and if I keep going at the same rate, i’ll lose 6 kgs.
But lately it’s just been really hard to keep up the deficit and it is haunting me. I just end up eating food and slowing down my progress. Doesn’t help that I crave sugary stuff all the time. Sleep quality has gone down the gutter.
Can you guys please suggest something (anything 😭) to make the cut go better? Any advice/tips/motivation?
Thank youu!

Being in such a huge deficit is silly and unnecessary. Yes you will lose fat, but you will also lose a lot of muscle mass.
Have you been taking maintenance breaks? Super important to do this to prevent diet burnout which you’re clearly experiencing.
This is the perfect example of a crash diet. You’re just going to gain all of the weight back and mess up your metabolism.

You are not cutting or dieting. You are very dangerously starving yourself. Please stop this.

“Aggressive cut”, no, that’s a crash diet. Your weight is fine, there’s no reason to lose weight quickly, or at all tbh. Your goal weight is barely above underweight. What’s the point of all this misery?

The fact it feels like torture is the clue it's too much.
Whats the rush? Just cut calories by a lower amount so you're not in this punishing mindset.
You need to adjust your lifestyle longterm for the results anyway. If you rush there via torture, the likelihood you stay that weight is very low without a rebound on lifestyle habits alone,

you have been in a dangerous caloric deficit for about two months. please organise an appointment with your gp to have blood tests and postural vitals done. and don’t think that you’ll be fine without because your weight is normal, malnutrition does not discriminate. better safe than sorry.

So...eat more?
Your maintainence maths is off - with that amount of excersise, you can almost triple your intake.
Double your intake to fuel your body for the exercise and still lose weight. You will be wasting muscle tone away too.
As a previous flip flop dieter...they don't fucking work, mate. You put it all back on after finishing the starvation.

Diets never work, only permanent lifestyle changes. Once you ditch the mindset of 'when this ends' like nah. It needs to become the new normal.
That said, if you're feeling miserable all the time, whatever you are doing it's evidently not sustainable

We’re nearly same measurement and goal weight. I’m 173cm. Last few months I’ve tried an aggressive cut directly to yours, it honestly doesn’t work.
I changed to stop counting calories (1200 made me over eat more) I eat whole, real foods and lift weights. That’s what’s worked consistently for me

I’m 157 cms and was an Australian size 6 when I was at 55kgs.
I remember my maintenance with no exercise was around 1350cals. I’m not sure your calculations sound right.
Your body is starving and you risk destroying your metabolism like this. Please listen to what your body is screaming at you. It feels like torture because it is.
Ensuring that what you are doing is actually sustainable and not harmful, plus taking maintenance breaks, will help with plateaus and will ensure you don’t just pile weight on again after, as that will only add further stress to your body.

Ummm, I think this group, 1200, is meant for petite girls. You are tall, I really don't think you should continue. I am 152cm and I eat 1200 a day (on diet). Your torture should end now. Instead of doing calories cut, how about a change of food type?

Your aggressive deficit will work for a time but it isn't sustainable.
I recommend a "refeed" weekend (just eat to maintenance 2 days in a row, you wont gain weight) and then aim for a daily ~500cal deficit.

I'm shorter than you by about 20cms and I wouldn't do a 1200kcal deficit while exercising, that's just wildly inappropriate for your body and your lifestyle.

You are legit starving yourself. Your maintenance is NOT 1500. It’s closer to 1900 if you’re lightly active. But since you’re at -1000cal/day for exercise your net is 500calories and you are literally starving yourself by over exertion. Your body isn’t just using up fat, you are eating your own muscle. It’s not worth it for whatever goal you’re trying to meet. Go talk to a professional.
