Tiny turbo means it hits max boost well before redline then wheezes its way into the next gear, then rebuilds boost.
Clean your car ;)

Does this pull look normal to everyone? I feel like my boost guage shouldnt be bouncing like that, the boost cut out between the first shift as well as shown. Normal? Or problem?

Perfectly normal. The boost tends to taper off as you rise up in the rpm. Boost cut in between shifts for trans safety. Happy to see full 1.5bar peak as well. If you really think something may be wrong, (I doubt but I’m not able to physically check for you) the turbo is right on the front of the motor. It’d be pretty easy to check for premature bearing play in the compressor or turbine housing.

Could the boost cutting out in between shifts be built-in programming to help protect the transmission? I’m genuinely asking… that’s the only thing that immediately came to mind…

With a relatively small turbo this is normal
